I am rather surprised to be the first to post this.

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/video/2016/dec/06/eus-brexit-negotiator-cherry-picking-is-not-an-option-video

So we now have a clear FIRST statement from the chief negotiator on the EU side. We should not be surprised as this is a negotiating position. At least all party's on the EU side as I have said before are on the same page.
I now understand that the red, white and blue position will be revealed quite soon.
I would have thought that those in favour of Brexit would be have been falling over to post that the Governments "plan" would be revealed.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

I had considered posting a link myself but didn't see the point. It would likely only prompt posts that Volkswagen need to sell cars to the UK which is apparently the only thing that matters in all this. The fact that any deal has to be ratified by 27 other countries is irrelevant. Apparently.

    They won't be.

    Give it time.

There is probably a shared consensus that the EU27 want a better deal than the UK will get.

But there is always a price, and it isn't shared evenly.

Ask the Irish if they are worried about losing out, given they depend on trade with the UK so much. They are worried.

In my top five daft Remaoner statements is the one where they say "when we stop trading with Europe".

Can you provide a reference of anyone actually saying that? This is a strawman you try and argue against every few pages (and I correct you every few pages), but I've never actually seen anyone make the claim you're trying to put down.

What are the other 4 statements you've got? Can you reference any of them?

The inevitable U turn has arrived. For purely political reasons of course rather than any respect for parliament. It'll be interesting to see if the government approach this with good faith.
MPs are set to vote for the first time on the government's plan to trigger Brexit by the end of March next year.

Prime Minister Theresa May agreed on Tuesday to publish her plan for leaving the EU - to avoid a possible Tory rebellion and defeat in the Commons.

The government hopes that move will persuade MPs to support its schedule for starting the process of leaving.

Why shouldn't members of a trading block get a better deal than an external entity?

Or rather, why should the UK get a better deal than anyone else, since it doesn't want to be part of the EU? If the EU gives the UK another preferential deal, then it's the end of the EU.

That said, if the UK pays enough into the EU for access, I'm sure they can get any deal that they want. It just means that money won't go to the NHS.

it will be interesting if the MPs treat the referendum result in good faith and vote to immediately invoke article 50.
article 50 has nothing to do with the terms of leaving or our future trading position : its solely the method of starting the leaving process

75% of Irish trade is with the UK and USA and only 15% with the EU. The Irish rate of corporation tax is 10% and the EU want them to increase it to 25%. They don't seem to have much reason to stay in a Post-Brexit EU. When the Irish electorate boot out Enda Kenny, it will be very interesting to see what happens next.

    LOL!
Its easy to unite when your position is that talks will not begin in earnest until art. 50 is invoked.
If you think that narrow national interest won`t 'kick in' at some point in the negotiations then you're deluded.
If you also think the UK negotiating side are in borderline chaos at the moment then just wait a few months for the EU clowns, its going to be hilarious.
I wonder if it`ll be the Poles or the Irish to be first to ask for the resignation of the EU`s chief negotiator.

I'm probably going to be quoted out of context again.

I said it will make my life a lot more difficult, not impossible, just to give the full picture. I'm in a business model that requires physical FoM though, where some UK businesses exporting to EU could do so with 90 days in 180 visa free for personal/business and no tarriffs.

Although would filling out a mountain of customs forms be before or after I've declared myself as being foreign and named and shamed myself, despite holding a British passport? :D
