If an election is called I should imagine that the LibDems will do pretty good, if the new polls are to be beleived they have 51% of the electorate who are not happy with a Brexit to aim at.

If you think all this is bad just wait until the EU-27 try to come up with their negotiating position.

Look at the top EU trading countries with UK, and tell me they are not predominantly concerned with trade.

Then look at top EU migration countries. It's easy to work out their priority.

Then you have the likes of Eire, who are just worried they will be seen as collateral damage.

Juncker can't please all sides. He should be scouring the papers looking for a new job in a couple of years time.

They stand a chance of getting enough seats to be in with a shout of another coalition but I'm not sure they'd do that again.
Their (and Labour's) best chance would be a non competition pact similar to the Gladstone/MacDonald pact back in the early 1900s

Eg cons said they wont put income tax up and did to 20%

I wonder if you're on a different planet to the rest of us.

Can you give details of when the Tories said they wouldn't increase income tax and when they put it up to 20%? From memory they have only cut income tax in recent years.

I think they meant VAT; Income tax has remained at 20% since 2008.

We're very likely to end up either with a Lib Dem-Labour-SNP coalition or a Tory-UKIP one.

I'd say that even if LD won what they had, plus half the Remain vote, then there is a fighting chance in a lot of areas, unless UKIP decide not to stand in some of these seats.

I could see 70-80 seats going LD, but the big question is going to be how many are Conservative, and how many are Labour. Equally, the Tories could take a lot of Labour seats, leaving them with a 70-80 seat majority.

The Tories have a tiny majority, and it would be hugely risky for TM to ask MP's to vote for either no confidence or a 75% election, as it could go either way.

My mother for the first time won't be voting Conservative at any new election (although she hasn't said more, however much I've already guessed from power of deduction), nor will a number of others I know.

This would be an election where noone knows what will happen, probably the first in a very long time where seat changes can't be predicted at all. It would also be very tactical in a number of areas re candidates, and this would have a huge effect on the end result.
