With that way of thinking that's a pretty good thing you didn't!
Is the cretinous slimebag piece of filth that allegedly fathered my children not also paying tax? Do I not pay it? Do my children not also pay? Or my childrens partners? you carry on like your husband.. not yourself.. is the only person in the world who pays it.. sorry to burst that bubble but he isn't.
and you didn't answer my question.. how much do I get in your altered reality??
I had my children to pay your pensions when you are sat in your own pee in a nursing home, to wipe your behind and clean your soiled clothes, to clean your house and fix your heating when it breaks, to provide you with clothes and food when you cannot afford to do so yourself. To bring your shopping and make you well when you are ill, to keep you safe when you are in the street and vulnerable.. They may one day save your life or rescue you from danger.. They might save the planet.. yours won't!
how very unpleasant, hope you are bringing your children up to have a better attitude, probably not though. Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama

Some people might look at your signature and see that you are overpaying your mortgage or that you have successfully paid off all your debts according to your thread on the debt free board. Then they might make the assumption that in order to do that with 11 children and one on the way, while neither you nor your partner work, you must be in receipt of pretty generous benefits.
There are two adults working full time in my house. We can't overpay the mortgage. Most people can't. We also don't have time to run a thriving little eBay concern. Do you count the money you make from selling things as your income?Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.

Well firstly they will have to show they are paying in more than taking out of the system...all of them. A bit premature to make the above assumption isn't?0 -

then they have no right to make assumptions of any kind, other peoples bigotry is not my problem.
Am I overpaying my mortgage though or am I just paying enough to not fall into arrears?
You only need to declare items which you purchased in order to sell at a profit.. I researched carefully and spoke to the HMRC too.. because I keep things above board.
The number of children isn't relevant.. it is the number which are dependent that is.. so 11 is inaccurate and also misleading.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I've been trying to think of a way to word this so it doesn't come across badly, but I don't think that's possible.
Why if you are struggling to feed to children you do have do you keep on having more?
Benefits are there for people in desperate need, as a safety net, not to fund a career choice of having children.0 -

No, I won't be calling on your children to pay for me, assuming they break the benefits cycle of their parents. I will be paying for my own upkeep, whether that is in a nursing home or in the home we already own. I've provided for my future - you can't even provide for your current needs.0 -

not that it is in any way anyones business.. it has actually only been the last few months we have been really struggling and what am I supposed to do? Kill my 5 year old because we are now struggling? Have my 15 year old adopted because she is costing too much to clothe because she had a growth spurt??
Do you know what your finances will be like in 15 years time? or 5?? Because I don't now and I didn't then.
It doesn't work like that.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
##I was under the impression that funding would only be available if the student had not studied at that level before (which they will have done if they had progressed to university)? It may have changed more recently, but something to double check.
.
Where would I find this out? The college they are attending?Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -

and the nursing home won't have tax paying staff?? and your dr will work for free? And your surgical procedures will be cured by miracles and unicorns no doubt? How will you pay a police officer saving you from a mugger or a fire fighter rescuing you from your burning house.. those are peoples children that you are not paying for.. they are my children keeping you safe because that is what they chose to do. What good will you be bringing the world then?
I get tax credits and child benefit the same as the greater majority of other parents.. what else do I get? how much do I get? how many children do I even get it for? .. you haven't got a clue your bigoted mind cannot even comprehend this simple idea.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I think the system is perfectly fair. Maintenance and benefits are paid until child can either start to work and support themselves, or they can get grant and bursaries for Uni. It is only fair that maintenance should stop at this stage. Of course, that doesn't mean that the now adult can get additional financial help from both parents directly.
I had a few friends at uni (including myself) whose divorced dad was happy to contribute directly. As a matter of fact, many nrp are very happy to do so as their issue with maintenance is not to support their child but the fact that it goes to the pwc with no idea how the money is then spent. nrps who don't contribute anything either do so because they don't believe they should once their child is at uni, or can't afford it , or have lost touch with the now adult and again, but in either of these three instances, it is no different to families that are not separated/divorced.
If a child decides to stop their education and then later decide to return, then they have to accept that the rules are different and like many mature student, they might need to consider going to college on a part-time basis around their job. Maybe what would help if this was made clear to them by their parents when they decide to interrupt their studies.
Wow this thread is getting heated!
This is exactly what we want to do, would much rather stop paying the mother and pay an amount to the child to help through education. However, unless the child makes effort to find work, this isn't going to happen. Suggested that we get her to open a Cash to buy ISA and put the money in thereLoved our trip to the West Coast USA.
