Linwood Barclay - the second Promise Falls book as I did enjoy the first one. It's called Far From True. I just read that it is the second one in a trilogy.VfM4meplse wrote: »I've just read this cover to cover, found in my parents home and full of handy OS tips:
Hmm, the book cover looks familiar to me. I must have read it at some point in the past.:)0 -

Hello bookworms
I didn't finish Demolition Angel by Robert Crais. It was so cliched I spent more time rolling my eyes than reading it
I have read another of his books and really enjoyed it so it hasn't put me off reading more of his books.
I've also read the other 2 Bernie Gunther books in the Berlin Noir trilogy - The Pale Criminal and A German Requiem. (Author Philip Kerr)
Really good and I thoroughly enjoyed them
I've also read Harry's Last Stand by Harry Leslie Smith.
How the world my generation built is falling down and what we can do to save it.
I am not a historian but I am history and I fear it's repetition.
Harry is one of my heroes. This is him speaking in 2014:

Just finished this:
Broken Faces by D M Carr
'The story of four friends who have to come to terms with the changes in their lives brought about when one of them, Freddie Chevalier, suffers a life-changing disfigurement in the Great War.'
It really made me think and had some great historically accurate references to the 'Tin Nose Shop' etc which I never really knew much about before reading this book.
8/10
Unfortunately it seems to only be available on Kindle at the moment - I've subscribed to Kindle Unlimited at £7.99 a month and it's given me a chance to try stuff I might never have gone for before.:hello:0 -
Someone recommended Stuart McBride books a few weeks back and I want to say thank you so much. I have now read a few of them and just finished 22 Dead Little Bodies and other short stories. It is a book with four short stories and the last one is The 45% Hangover. I read it last night and after a couple of very difficult weeks with health issues for myself and various family member I laughed till I cried. The idea of Logan and DCI Steel waking up naked and handcuffed to each other was so funny. I am laughing again thinking of it.Sell £1500

Have just finished Watch me die by Erica Spindler, and wow the storyline is very well written, it kept me in suspense right to the end. Mira is being haunted by someone but no one believes her, people are dying and she has links to the deaths and throughout the book she thinks she is going mad. Throughout you think who is stalking her and its a shock when you find out who it really is at the end. I highly recommend this book, glad I picked it up in the charity shop now. I will be looking for more or her books in the charity shops now!£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480

I'm just finishing Janet Evanovich's Tricky Twenty-Two. I know this series a bit of a formula, but I still really enjoy all of the characters and their banter. She is a fun author to read.Overprepare, then go with the flow.
