£11.94 spent on pizzas, wine, yoghurt, cheese, eggs and DGD sweets!
I could have managed with just the eggs and cheese! I really do need to use my menu planning better and sort out my meal before I go to work not on the way home! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Weekly shop sorted- £25, putting me at £89/£175 with 2 shops to go, so definitely on track. That's despite having to buy loo roll and scourers with this week's shop- trips to Lidl definitely paying off!
Still need to pick up a few extra's as it's my DH b'day next Friday and we're making sushi as a treat. Feels very decadent, but much cheaper than our usual restaurant meal. Got smoked salmon and crab meat in the weekly shop, but still need nori, rice vinegar, sushi rice and wasabi which should come to about £5 from the local Asian supermarket.
Next week will be more expensive as I'm running out of vegetables in the freezer as Lidl seems to have a poor selection- no individual packs of broccoli, spinach and cauliflower. These usually cost £1.50 each, and I buy twice a month. If anyone has any cost saving advice here it would be much appreciated!!August grocery challenge: £120/£1800 -
Big delivery from asda £83.75
I knew this would be my expensive week, OH birthday so we got a few bottles of cider for the weekend and nice meal for his birthday and a big cake. I still think I can manage the month. Only have to get to the 24th and considering I was struggling to stick to a £350 budget the meal planning is definitely working.
So I am at 216.13/260 probably will go over a bit but don't need any meals now just bread milk and fruit.0 -
Hello all, just popping in to update my spends so far this month. I have recently had to give up work for a while, so I am trying to spend as little as possible. So far this month I've spent £76.01 and had 13 NSD's, need to get some bread, milk and toilet rolls later though (toilet rolls come out of a different budget) I'll see if there's any YS stuff knocking about. Just off to update my signature. Have a good weekend allAs of 5/4/16 :
*Grocery Challenge 31st March - 27th April £53.36 NSD's 6/28 *RAGI2016: #34 £43.64/5000 -
Spent £8.72 so far out of my £15 budget until next week. Got some eggs, bread that I will have with tinned tuna, some veg and chicken to make soup - that should be enough for the week, I will only need some more bananas and cucumbers.
I now think of all those years of wasting money on sweets and food that was thrown away...thousands of pounds...0 -
So in the last two weeks have spent £23.43 for far in March. Going to many different places for food and just trying to one or two big shops a month, so we use as much as we can.
Total spent for far since starting in end of Feb £87.29, £112.71 left till 25/3/16.
Should be able to do it I think.
What we have also started is wine fund too, this will mean that we have a budget for food and essentials and a budget for the wine.
Am hoping that this approach will work.
Need to start meal planning for at least the weekdays now ....hhhhmmmm....0 -
Think I am back in track now. Stocked up on pita bread, bread, fresh fruit, fresh herbs and fresh veg, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, tinned toms, chick peas and red kidney beans today in A**i. Was down to just 6 tins on my pulses and tomatoes shelf but still have plenty of own tomato passatta in the freezer so should be fine now for the rest of the month.
Spent £21.47 but picked up 2p in the car park so added it to the housekeeping purse :-). Still ploughing through freezer so should be ok for the next two weeks.0 -
