Not going to beat myself up about it. It's way too much for 2 people. Although there was NO eating out. Indulgences were down to £25 so making good inroads there, Drinks back down to £60.

The freezer and storecupboards are totally rammed so I'm going to try for a few NSDs. This will be helped by the fact that I appear to have left my CCard in Mr T's yesterday.:D I'll call in today to see if its been handed in, then cancel it if necessary.

Serious meal planning needed. Chilli from the freezer tonight.

I hope everyone was more successful in their Challenge. I'm off to Aprils thread.

Managed to get to the end of the month with no more spends, still using stock up so hopefully nothing needed before end of next week, I like the idea of putting unused budget into a seperate bulk buy fund, @lynnejk, I will do that too.
Do I need it or just want it.

I shuffled some budgets around, so a little bit of a cheat, but counting a Wetherspoons meal from my 'grocery budget' and swapping it for a purchase of party food from Mozza's for OH's last day at work meant I came in at £120/£120 in my grocery budget - bang on!:j

..And in my 'other' budget I was £2 under. Woo hoo!

Theoretically I was in the black in total for £38 this month. Normally I would wack this over to my debt-busting fund, but being careful as I will need to find funds to support my dad and his wife in some way this month.
    Keep reading books!
    July grocery challenge START: £150.
    total SPENT £127.53, REMAINING £22.37.

My total was £293.76 for March - so over budget again. I think I need to budget a more realistic figure for next month. Well done to everyone who has kept within budget :)
    Mortgage and debt free :)
  • Ended up at £182/£175 overall, so slightly over budget but that was more to do with how my shopping dates fell than a general overspend (bad planning on my part though!)
    August grocery challenge: £120/£180
  • I've still some way to go to reduce my grocery budget. My total for March is £424.62. I'm sure it is higher as OH is always buying bread but never puts the receipt in our 'grocery' tin so I can tot up how much we are spending. Unfortunately he loves bread and not the sliced in a plastic bag stuff! I'm going to resolve to use the breadmaker more, that might help.
