Dead chuffed I have come in under budget this month - I have enough food in until Friday so my total spend is £182.54/£200.
This month I learned what 'YS' means, realised that I can make far more than I thought from what's already in the cupboard/freezer, made a pack of sausages last 4 meals instead of two, done without instead of rushing to replace, and got by with more NSD's. My goal is to steadily get down to maybe £100 a month for the two of us.must say NO to impulse buys!GC March Challenge £182/200
GC April Challenge £232/£175
GC May Challenge £170/£175
GC June Challenge £175

Last spend of the month and I have failed to keep to my budget again. I was doing well but then we went to DD2s. There was hardly any food in the house as she'd been away for the week. She wasn't feeling well so I went to the supermarket.
Unfortunately the only supermarket in her town is Waitrose and DH came with me to help carry the shopping. I sent him to the cheese counter for a small piece of goats cheese-it cost £4.50! He also spotted a few more things that he wanted to try so buying a few essentials turned out to be an expensive shopping trip.
I shall try again next month.0 -
Totted everything up and spent a grand total of £98.73 out of a budget of £160. We got hit with a large vet's bill in the middle of the month, so I was trying to spend less than a hundred and am pretty impressed we managed it, especially as the eldest has been home from Uni for two weeks so I've had to cater for an extra mouth for half the month.0

ok i admit it! i went on a mad one and spent £72 yesterday. in my defence i did spend £31 of that on £126 work of rib of beef, brisket, leg of lamb and leg of pork from YS section of mr t!! bought two litres of my favourite cockburns port as on offer in morr****s, and have stock piled the dog food and dental chews!! so stores and freezer full. so have to declare an over spend of £41 on my march shop of £180. ouch!! see you on the april GC. x0

My first proper month of tracking spending and it comes in at £352. I failed at recording my spending in previous months but it helped to use my debit card all the time. I'll see if I can beat that now!Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0

Declaring this month at £237.87, which is £22.13 under budget, hooray! It's definitely helped to keep DH's random spending in his own personal budget which he can blow as he likes without affect our joint grocery budgetSavings target: £25000/£25000
