Have spent 2/3rds of my monthly spend with 2 more weeks left, going to have to be careful that I don't end up going over. We've got plenty in the freezer and a fridge full so should be ok until thursday and then I'll only have 1 week left

£114.98 spent so far this month so a little under half with almost three weeks left. That did include a new big bag of dry cat food which usually lasts a couple of months. We are OK for food until the end of this week so pretty much on track.
    Savings target: £25000/£25000

  • Hello, I know it's almost half way through the month but I'd like to join the challenge again. I'm aiming for £200 for the rest of the month. Thats 3 adults, 3 cats and 6 rabbits. I'm looking to change jobs as I currently work shifts as a radio dispatcher for the police but the shifts are literally killing me. I'm 46 and after 11 years can't do it anymore so need to start watching the pennies as I'm after a 9 -5 office job which will be less income coming in.

  • I'd like to join in too.

Currently the shopping is wrecked, we have to travel by bus shop at nearest sm, I can't go so OH is shopping on his own. We lost a lot of food in the freezer twice between 1st Dec and 1st March - the freezer has truly broken, it's not ours and we aren't buying one until we've moved house. Result is last 3 months average of £385 month for two of us which covers food, cleaning products etc. Plus there are work lunches cost. Breaks my moneysaving little heart, it does.

    Interim total now £64.

Day 11, and I need to stop spending money...

£35 iceland delivery - fish, fruit, beans, veg, yogurts, and some 'I'm lazy' lunches... a decant haul. Some for the month, and some for the cupboard.

Plus a loaf of bread at the bakers, plus a couple of coffees at work...

    New total = £110!

£15 left if I want to stick to my budget. Less than £1 a day.

    Possible?
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

first post for me! Hi everyone - I need to rein in my spending and would like to do this challenge. I thought I spent about £200 for the two of us in a month but now that I have kept all my receipts I have already spent 104.46!! So maybe I will try and keep it under £200

Been doing so well but I've just popped to the corner shop and spent £5  annoyed at myself. Didn't even buy much. Never mind I'm still on track though.
