Yesterday was my 3rd NSD and aiming for another today:)
Made an amazing Red Pepper Soup from a recipe I found somewhere on MSE so can't give praise where it's due, but I used up the red peppers from last weeks veg box:T Had one portion for lunch and another two for the fridge for lunches - delicious!!
Dinner last night for myself and DD was leftover mince & potato pie from Thursday nights dinner with yorkies and broccoli. DS3 had fish fingers and DS2 had dinner from work.
Pizza tonight for DD birthday sleepover and a Roast tomorrow:) DS1 coming over for dinner on Monday night which I am looking forward to and I have DGS overnight from Monday to Tuesday as DSD1 is in hospital. A busy week ahead and lots of using up as I don't intend to go near a shop for a few more days:DNovember NSD's - 70 -

Not a happy bunny. Managed to spend £58.00 yesterday in Mo*****ns. Weather was horrible and I didn't need to shop but we called in on the way back from the docs as OH wanted some car stuff. Didn't NEED anything:( and will struggle to eat the YS bananas and tomatoes I bought.
Way over budget, too much food and thoroughly fed up with myself.
Hoping for a better week next week.
Still buying too much - just because it's very cheap doesn't mean I need two of everything!! Ah well. Onwards and upwards:)0 -
Hi everyone
not updated for a while but keeping on track (will add receipts shortly)
Discovered my local (very small!) As*a has started doing click & collect AND the stuff comes from the huge store in town which is just fab as it means I can get loads of stuff that I can't get here without having to do a 40+ mile round trip! :T
I'm finding it much easier & I go to the town where the store is (still a 16 mile round trip but my nearest store!) every Sunday to walk the dog in the most fantastic woods / beach so - it's working brilliantly :j
It's also really helping my spending as there are no items 'accidentially' falling into my trolley while walking around store!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I managed to get some YS fish and sausages yesterday so I have carefully portioned and frozen.
Today I am making some fishcakes using up some small bits of fish I found in the freezer, and some leftover sweet potato and potato mash.
I've to update my freezer inventory later and then write down this week's menus when DD1 tells me what her shifts are this week.Books - the original virtual reality.

2 out of 5 shops for this month now completed- that's £62 / £175 so far, so I'm on track as each shop has been below £35 so far
Also onto a bit of a winner, as I went to a free cooking workshop earlier this week and left with about 40 apples (will make crumble, a fruity salad, apple sauce to freeze and then see where I'm at!), loads of sugar and spices, plus 1.5 loaves of bread. Then went to another event and saved 2 and a half platters of sandwiches from the bin- these have been frozen and seem to defrost well for lunches.
Meals planned:
-Coconut and lentil curry with rice
-Bean chilli and baked potatoes
-Homemade pizzas
-Tuna pasta bake
-Spicy chicken, homemade wedges, and vegetables
-Chicken fajitas
-Sweet potato and chickpea stew
-Crispy chilli beef stir fryAugust grocery challenge: £120/£1800 -
Interim total £47.
Bought a wholemeal sourdough loaf from a new bakery across the street, plus a block of welsh butter and a piece of their bakewell tart.
£6 spent, so interim total goes upto £53.That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
House Bought July 2020 - 19 years 0 months remaining on term
