Flipping Friday!! - those frightening kids rooms and spare rooms
    Level One

[STRIKE]Vacuum the floor, even if it's just where you can see
Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself! Anything you like.[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc for at least 10 minutes[/STRIKE]
Dusting, all those shelves and flat surfaces
    Level Three
Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattress, replace with fresh linen
Sort through a cupboard/chest of drawers and get the clothes out which are no longer wearable, too small or out of season (do they need anything replacing?)
[STRIKE]Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors (yes including the handles)[/STRIKE]

    Extra Task List
    • Wash a set of curtains, nets, duvet or throw
    • Wipe the radiators, skirtings and window & door frames
    • Hotspot cleaing, spend 10 minutes tackling one at least
    • Grab a binbag and fill it with stuff to leave the house. Can be rubbish or charity shop or to donate to a friend/freecycle
So that's me for my first week! Happy with what I've accomplished and looking forward to week #2!

I now have a clean, tidy kitchen and bathroom. We have also eaten.

  • Hello everyone

Here is what I have done today :

    Walked dog.

That looks pretty lame, shame you can't put eating, breathing and Internet "research" on the list.

Right, time for a little action. Going to do something easy for tea that I can just leave in the oven, then while it is cooking do a tidy of each room and a hoover. also going to crack the whip with the minions who have been as lazy as me today. They didn't even walk the dog with me.

    Right!

LW.. would it be too much for Mr Wolf to bring down a box for you to sort and fling from?? It's a lot of upping and downing I know.. we have been aiming to empty the loft entirely every summer for the last 5 years but plans have been scuppered by babies and weather.. we have stacks of toys up there that can go and bags and bags of wool I will never knit because I cant see it!
He's already done that with nearly everything that was practical to bring down; the rest of it is:
Collectables we can't fit out on display, eg my set of "Dreamweaver" plates.
    Paperwork we NEED to keep.
Jam jars for when we do jam-making.
Empty cardboard boxes * TO BE CULLED
A couple (?) of boxes of Mr LW's junk which I can't in all honesty force him to ditch; though I'd love to get my paws on them and go "Do you really, REALLY need to keep this? It's plug-ugly, and no earthly use".

I'd just like to get up there, see for myself what's there, and sort it into a semblance of order (Mr LW's idea of "order" and mine differ greatly).
Been a long day. Vets was traumatic as the dog did not want to be injected in the bum! Our new vet is wonderful and gave us lots of helpful advice. Dog is still feeling a bit poorly so getting lots of tlc.

    Evening

Work done, thank goodness a bit of a tough day for one reason or another.

Some how I have managed to double book myself on Monday, so do I a) wait for some one to collected something for cash, which I could do with, I already know they cannot come at any other time for at least the next 3 to 4 weeks, or b) ring up early on Monday and cancell my dentist appointment and re make it, knowing they are likely to charge me £18 as it will be under 24 hours notice and they are very strict.......................

Lynnejk- I'm due on 2nd February- so 3 and a half weeks to go! Both the boys were late so quite relaxed this time round. Only bought all the newborn clothes last month!but on the other hand she s 3/5 engaged and I have been getting period type tummy aches which midwife says is her getting ready so could be any time! But my logical side is still saying I've got ages and don't want to be ready to early!

Had an amazing surprise today. I went to (what I thought was) lunch at my cousins house. But when I got there, there was about 20 girlie friends and family who had got together to organise me a baby shower. I don't really do baby showers and would never organise one for my self but it was a lovely surprise! Made me realise how many lovely friends and relatives I have. Games were played, cupcakes and food had been made and I received a beautiful hamper of goodies. I felt quite spoilt and really was lost for words! In fact I kept crying as some of my friends had made a four hour round trip to be there.:blushing::grouphug:

Sorry Kazwookie, I can't suggest anything other than asking a kindly neighbour to stand in for you.

Frizzle, that sounds like an absolutely lovely surprise and a great reminder of friendship.

Another day sorting the filing cabinet, and still not quite finished, with a 6" stack of files left to fillet. Every time I do this I uncover stuff I can *fling* plus stuff that needs to be dealt with once and for all, and stuff that I can sort out quickly that means life in the future will be simpler. This time I think I'm actually getting my head around it for good. Marvellous stuff.
    Better is good enough.
