Welcome to all newbies. Don't be daunted, it does get better. I have no excuses such as disabilities, children or other excuses other than being a sloth in human form. I do work from home a lot, which means I get sidetracked by checking up to see what you are all doing.

Said it better than I could. I, too, have to deal with my office and permanent Room of Doom. Occasional Lodger is due to stay tomorrow night and after Flying for a year or two it only takes about 30 mins to get it ready, whereas the first time it took about six hours.

Sorry to hear about the continued disruptions in the Wolf's lair, LW. Wearing for you. (((Hugs)))

Our boiler is driving us nuts, too. I've written to the manufacturer spelling out the longstanding problems and asking for their thoughts. I don't mind paying for the repair but I'm not shelling out £250 again for a specialist engineer's visit to be told it's a known fault. Six and a half years on it should have been resolved. (To be fair their engineer did replace a whole load of parts so we got our money's worth out of the visit.)

Another load of dog fleeces run through the WM and we're now plaing the washing hokey cokey between showers. Tomorrow should be okay for pegging out, but who knows. It's driving me nuts having a permanent pile of laundry by the machine.

Christmas cards down and next year's list started, list of letters to write made, and preparations for OH's birthday tomorrow set in train. Lodger's warned, for a start. All three of them. He likes a fuss.
    Better is good enough.

Dunelm visited I got a mug for my stepdad for Christmas and some 49p plastic cutlery and next years Christmas cards for the children to give to their school friends, Halfords collection made we were going to take the girls to Smyths to spend their £10 Christmas money but Dot was behaving appallingly so we came home.

Dinner cooking.. early bed tonight for everyone I think!

Vacuuming the front room next on the cards and then eating and bedtime for pests.

Also he noticed that I was jittery when he came home so bless him, he did pick up on the fact I wasn't happy about strangers coming to the house unplanned - let alone two in one day..
Those who don't suffer thus don't understand how awful it is for us. (((HUGS))) for you mate; and boiler-swiftly-repaired vibes. I remember our boiler packing up over Xmas, I think it was 3 years ago. And the immersion also turned up it's toes too, so we were holed up in the lounge with just the gas fire for heat, and a Shiba Inu guest at the time.:D
Still, that's how we got to know the chaps who refitted the kitchen and who were here (well, the boss was) to do our service yesterday. A good gas engineer/plumber is worth his weight in gold!

I changed DS3's to the 19th too.. we can all be worried together! .. another 14 days though sadly for us.. his appointment was tomorrow originally.. I barely slept last night in case it couldn't be changed to a local centre. Is yours 10:30 too?? .. and remember what your note said.. we are there, all of us with you xx
No, our appointment time is 09:00 on 19th, so I'll probably be just coming out as you go in. Never mind that I'm usually asleep at that time of the day.....:rotfl:

Executive decision to delay vacuuming til Thursday afternoon. Ted's being picked up then, and he hates the vacuum, so I might as well spare him the anguish and do it when he's gone home.

Mr LW has just called to say he's on his way home, so I'll go and get Ted's dins done; we need to pop out to @ldi when Mr LW gets here, as we're nearly out of milk.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Job centre visit was a waste of time grr. Hubby hoovered and moped while I was gone and did some cleaning in living room and I've done a load of washing and meals and kitchen cleaning.

    Theprogress for today:

Tuesday - Lovely Living Rooms and Safe Stairs

    Level One
Vacuum floors in these areas, even if around clutter

    Level Two
Move clutter so you can vacuum under it
Vacuum and wipe (if needed) sofas
Dust any areas below eye level

    Level Three
Clear anything that shouldn't be where it is, ahem that includes that cup!

The only extra for today was to fill a carrier bag with items to go to the cs, didn't think I would get it full but I did! :D Stuck steadfastly to the Beautiful/Useful/(Extremely) Sentimental formula.

Really enjoying doing things this way (flylady) and also the lovely group that particpate. Can't wait to see what tomorrow's list is!

Been on the phone all morning to BT trying to sort business line
    Sorted a doctors appointment
    2 hours ironing
40 items in to cs bag - decluttering thread 2016
Sorted a tin for rainy day money challenge

All in all, its been a busy day. Back to work tomorrow but work from home so need to sort a new schedule to incorporate "flying" into the work day.

    Evening all.

MrsMoneyPenny - I got 3 calendars for Xmas (all westies). If you want one please pm me your address.

    This was my list earlier:

    Check banking (done)
Get chilli in the slow cooker for tea tonight
    Change bedding
    Walk dogs

I'd also like to clean in bedroom, hoover through and look at the list but think I may run out of time.

I did the essentials, also sorted dried washing and put away, WUDUPA, and sorted the rubbish and recycling. Also hoovered but only quickly downstairs.

So my plan for tomorrow morning is to clean the bedroom and get a lamb hotpot in the slow cooker.

    See you all tomorrow.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Got all the washing away, sorted all bits for tea, WUDUPA, breadmaker has just finished so house smells lovely and I can have some decent toast and jam for breakfast :)

Unfortunately ironing not yet started, well there's always something more interesting to do....

    Howdy,
    How many pages??? Lol.

First couple of days back at school / work complete. Not too traumatic and gone rather quickly. WFH tomorrow so I'll get laundry done too ;)

I'm not caught up with the thread, but hugs and sticks and spoons I have, if anyone is in need?

Successfully changed working patterns and school club days from next week, and after taking DS to football, we found out that he needs to go on Thursdays - doh! Actually works out better in a way - mean I can take him and poor gramps won't have to find his way to the back of the massive school where it is. So we are all organised now. And DS really enjoyed it despite saying he was nervous beforehand :) he did bash his thumb which has an ominous looking bruise, so will keep an eye on that...

Also came home via college - to find out where it is, lol, and check out parking. So feeling quite prepared. It's only 10min from work which is good. I can finish work at 5, have a little breather and snack, and be at college and parked up before 6.

Very little fluttering done, tea things still out :o but I will sort in the morning. Been a rather hectic couple of days.

Back at dentist on Thursday - abcess been fine, still there but no flare up - but he's going to take the crown off and investigate. Looking forward to that, not!

Right, need to check my emails and pay the new swimming guy. Early night for me, I think! I was in work at 6.30
