Morning everyone, another joyous day with the boiler engineer..lol The sorry saga continues..lol Came downstairs and it's blooming cold without any water going through the central heating pipes. I didn't realise how much my boilers were kicking out even on Frost setting. Have to clear out under the sink and move the washing machine so engineer can change the pump .. But the good news is the electrics stayed on over night so we definately know it is the boiler or something to do with it. Just to convince the engineer this. Thankfully Dave is home today so he can talk to him :)

Am going to hoover the house after my shower, then do some ironing to keep warm.. How sad is that I am actually prepared to do the one thing I hate (ironing) just to keep warm....lol

Hope everyone is okay.and doing as well as can be expected :) xxxx

  • Good Morning ladies,

Today is the first day I have had the house entirely to myself for almost 3 weeks, bliss! No-one back until 4pm, woot woot! So far the WM has done its thing, and is ready to be re-loaded. TD and DW are on, I have decluttered an omelette, and put loads of DIY bits back in the shed where they belong.

Shopping arriving soon, and then I really must steam clean the floors, but they haven't been done for so long its become a frog... time for a cuppa first, have lovely days all xxx :)

Welcome to the new and returning flyladies.

Got everyone off to school/work I'm not in till lunchtime so have written a paper list so I can work through/catch up and cross off as I go.

So far I've peeled the jelly letters off the front door and kitchen window and binned them as they got missed yesterday.
Waiting for my diary to arrive so I can make a start on that and feeling slightly lost as I didn't get a calendar for Christmas so can't write everything on the kitchen wall to stay reminded. I always get one so not sure what happened there! I do have the high school one that's preprinted with all school guff so may make do with that but it runs sept-July

Am unexpectedly at home this morning so I have decided to get on with some 'round tuit' jobs.

So I won't post a list; I will post when I have done any!

Job one - done - write down Christmas Cards received in prep for next years' Christmas card list THEN bagged for recycling drop-off.

Lamewolf what the PIP assessors will see is you. What YOU will know is that you are surrounded by supportive Flyladies all sending coping vibes both before and during, like an invisible army.

Our rescue dog desperately needs his claws cutting. We have tried to desensitise him to the clippers but he is terrified. We took him to the vet a while ago who wasnt able to do it. She suggested muzzle training him then she would have another go. No surprise that he is also terrified of the muzzle and its slow going getting him used to it.

We were discussing this before we went to sleep which is why I think I slept badly. I am really bothered about it, I know its stupid but I cant face the thought of the vet wrestling with him again and getting nowhere. DH suggested getting advice from another vet but this will be down to me.

Ours isn't a rescue but he has his issues! We've always played with his feet as he likes jumping up which is why I felt confident enough to give it a go. I watched some utube videos on how to do it and bought these guillotine clippers rather than the scissor style ones so I had more control. I sit on the floor with my legs out in front, lay the dog down between my legs on his back with his bottom towards me and the first couple of times I had DD occupying him and giving him a small treat each time I trimmed a claw with special treats he only got then. I literally just take the thinnest bit off the end, almost like peeling apart a tissue its so thin. I also take a thin bit off the front as well to remove the point and it also in theory helps the quick to recede quicker. I've been doing it weekly as they were so long he sounded like he was wearing metal tipped stiletto heels :o I also use this trimmer to trim the hair between his paws as its quicker and easier than doing it with scissors which is how I was doing it. He's not so keen on the trimmer but I think he's realised I'm not going to hurt him. Now the only time he slides across the laminate is when he's running after a toy which he appears to enjoy or when trying to do a 180degree turn at speed to run up the stairs :rotfl: He's still making a noise when he walks but no where near as bad as he was. I just can't trim his claws much more now until the quick recedes.

I was up at 6am so I could get in the bathroom before DD went for a shower but I haven't been any more productive than usual as I spent the morning trying to get DD's f1tbit to sync and the app on her phone to work. Its still not working on her phone, but it is on the computer so that'll have to do until later in the week when I can sit down and work out what's wrong.

I'm so tired and drained today that I'm just going to get on with paid stuff, and a couple of money jobs which I need to get sorted before I go to Mr A later (I'm meeting DD after she's been to club). Putting actual books out to customers can wait until tomorrow as I'm going to get DD to look over the newsletter before I print it. It's also the day I'd have put them out anyway if it wasn't for the change of dates over Christmas.

Now to top it off I've just hurt my wrist again playing fetch with the dog to tire him out :( I think I should go back to bed and try getting up again later as it's looking like it's going to be one of those days especially as this post has taken me an hour to write!:(

  • Morning everyone

LW - the collective love and positive vibes are with you.

Right, today need to tidy, hoover & dust especially dining/playroom as boys have a friend round after school. Also do the ironing pile and need to feed the WM again.

The playm'bil re-sorting needs to continue but I am hating the sight of the stuff at the moment after yesterday's stint so will leave for a couple of days.

Boys rooms need sorting, both are complete pits and stuff everywhere.

Am not feeling it at the moment, BD snuffling around could do with some sunshine so he will go for a long walk.

    Better get started.

    Hugs to all
    AFB.

Another 'round tuit' job done - all my work thank you cards (for the children) written - used 4 x 10 packs of cards and have 3 left  so my hands ache.
Have also taken out recycling, thrown some left over food in the green bin, emptied kitchen bin, effected temporary repair to rabbit hutch - 'slope' from bottom deck up to top hutch has become detached; fortunately I happen to have a plank which works. Hopefully, it will not fling it down with rain this week end and I can repair it then!

Have put some stuff away - so house looking a bit tidier!

Got to go to work now.
