Actually, it is already happening in some quartets. For example, if you wanted to buy an Asian made piano (the two best known mid range piano makers are both Japanese, and most of the best "budget" instruments are made in China or Indonesia), the cost has gone up by some 25℅ since the vote.

Now of course, the price of pianos is hardly in itself indicative of how the economy is doing, but it's perhaps a good example how if you look hard enough, the impact of the vote is already quietly manifesting itself in the real world.

    this really is awesomely silly
the cost of living may go up by a few percentage at most
salaries may go up too by a similar amount or higher

The price of going on holiday has shot up. Do you not ever get away, how do you not know?
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

Wait until wages in Asia match those in the UK. Then the price of consumer goods will be eye watering.

Only the 'liberal elite' buy pianos.

    Now where's Conrad?

    No 2017 predictions thread Hamish?

Are we still in too much shock over the unexpected political events of 2016 to hazard a guess?
    I think....

Still recovering from far too much food and wine over Xmas/NYE...

I'll get around to it shortly. :)

BRILLIANT NEWS, EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT.

There was a relentless decline in sales of UK and indeed, Japanese pianos (the likes of Kawai) thanks to cheap Chinese pianos. The UK manufacturers were badly hurt from about the late 80's.

Now there will be more incentive to produce in the UK, exactly what we need

I want to see import prices rise as this benefits us in the round as a nation. We can manage with a bit of inflation and benefit with more UK production, which will improve productivity (service sector is difficult to improve productivity within - there's only so many coffees one can serve)
