Annoying internet banking from Lloyds - payments/transfers

The old system with Lloyds was perfectly fine. If i wanted to transfer i would go to my account, look at the list of transfers i had set up, look at the reference & make the payment.
But as ever with things that 'aint broke' - people try and fix them & then it just ends up a mess.
I'm sure the payment references must still be there, i just can't find them so can anyone here point me in the right direction?
As it currently stands i only see a drop down menu of names of recipients & then sort codes & account numbers (as though i'm supposed to be able to memorise which s/c & acc no is for which account when there's a huge list of different payment options).
So how can i find the references?

Not exactly what you're looking for but if you go in to make a payment then the reference is there. To get what you want you may have to edit the names on your payees, although you may have to cancel them and set them up again - I know it says that you can't change reference, not sure about "name".0

As SuperallyB says..
Go to make a payment
Click existing recipient
Then you get the list organised by alphabetical sequence of the recipients name.
Against each entry is the name, acc and sort code and reference0 -
Once logged in if you go to the 'more actions' link which should be to the right hand side of the name of your account and balance.
Then 'Payments and Transfers' - 'manage recipients' - you will get a list of all existing payees, s/c and a/c no's, reference. The option to 'pay' or a 'X' to delete.
I agree with you though, that they have fixed something that was perfect and worked fine. Not a fan of the changes myself either.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Agreed. Before it took a single click to see a screen of recent transactions on my last-listed account. Now it is a battery of scrolls and clicks. Pathetic.0 -
The latest changes are rubbish. Ostensibly done to make online banking more user friendly on smartphones it actually makes it look far worse if you are using a proper monitor.
And I notice all the advertising/links became bigger and bolder at the same time.

I recently had a similar gripe with Santander. If yuou want to make a payment, you can easily get a list of payee names, but you can't see their payment reference straight away. So if, like me, you've got several payee's with the same name, but different banks, because you can't see the reference you actually have to go through each one and check which is which...utter nonsense and partly defeats the purpose of having a payment reference.0

And unfortunately Halifax have also updated their Online Banking to the same as Lloyds.
It's only TSB left with the legacy Lloyds TSB design (for now). It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

As the payee name will be totally ignored by all banks (only sort code and account number are used), you can name your payees with meaningful information.
E.g. if the account name is John Smith, sort code X, acct number Y, you could have the following payee names:
- JS monthly
- JS quarterly
- JS one-off
- JS XMAS pay
etc etc
I usually include the last 4 digits of my account number, e.g.
- My Santa 5678
- My Santa 3456
- My Lloyds 1234
- My BOS 4567
- My BOS 4568
- My BOS 4569
I have tons and tons of such payees, at around two dozen different banks.0 -

Kind of annoying that you have to click on the individual payment to see the reference.
Sort of like Santander as has been mentioned.
At least with Santander it shows the last amount sent, so if it's an account you always send £1000 to & only ever £1000 (£1k cycle for e.g.) then you can see it straight away. Other than that it's a slow process.
I thought changes were supposed to make things easier??0 -
