Sounds like I did pretty well to get £170? I had some DVDs, kids books and old Xbox games, the boring picture of my exs that I have tried to sell everywhere else (got £4 for that when I bet he paid £200). Had a few sewing patterns that were free with magazines that I would never use, got 50p each for those.
And the rest was mainly clothes of mine and the children's. I expect we are obviously amateur car booters and sold everything really too cheap but we just wanted to get rid of it. My children were shocked at the haggling - one guy had 18 DVDs which we said were £1 each, but we would do the 18 for £15. He then offered £5 for the lot. My son asked to sit in the car after that!

Took the leftover clothes to a charity bin on the way back.

That's my five yearly car boot done! I don't enjoy them at all but I think it was worth the effort.

Well done on the car boot sale Vintagegal.

I too had 'shallow' wardrobes when I moved in here almost 9 years ago. Finally saved enough to have proper built in wardrobes done earlier this year and I love them.

Have decided I need more jeans as all the ones I got last year are worn out. Will go out on Sunday and possibly try to go for coloured ones.

I agree kerri with the bootsales not being baking hot there is nothing worse.I just mean no chance of rain ;) Dry and bright. The best bootsale local to me is near loads of holiday caravan and chalet parks. To hot and they are all on the beach. Raining they are all at the swimming pools and indoor stuff. So you have to get it right :D

With people offering stupid prices I always say yes sure if I have still got it at the end of the day with a big smile :D They always buy it as I know it wont be there at the end of the day :)

Mavveymoo very very well done in the recycling clothes, what a great idea! Plus don't forget not only good for the enviroment, good for people on low budgets, but good for you , socialising, a choice of clothes and something to keep you occupied. I may just have to see if we can do the same here.

I've been naughty and spent my boot sale share on a raincoat. I have never had one and the last couple of weeks it has become apparent that living in the UK, its a necessity.
Its a cute one with a stripy lined hood and little toggle fastenings. It makes me smile.
We are going on holiday in the UK this summer so I am pretty sure it will be useful then as well!
Must stop shopping now. Please send help

I went out today instead of Sunday to look for jeans. I ended up buying (in a shop that was closing down) a pair of normal jeans, a pair of cropped jeans, a jumper, a long-sleeved top and two dresses for £57.50. Original prices would have come to £163.

I think I may change my challenge and almost give up on the charity shops as I'm not finding what I want there really. Even the jeans I bought recently in the CS have a broken zip today.

I don't often find things in CS around here except for fancy dress / costume sourcing. Could you get the zip replaced in the jeans - dry cleaners usually do them.

It's not really worth it and anyway, I have new ones now! The shop that is closing down still retains an online presence. Now I know their size 14s all fit, I may be ordering more from there.

I went in M&S yesterday and none of the size 14s fitted. Too tight, too short, too long. So another store I won't bother with, its too much faff.

Today, as it is still like November here, I will be wearing a new pair of jeans and my new jumper. It's lovely - really soft and pretty, cream with a rose design on the front.

Jazee Thats what I thought about the clothes so annoying to see them all get bagged up when they would be perfect for someone.

The items we cant sell I am taking buttons and zips out for dressmakers etc. Curtains are being reused for quilters etc :D

You should ask around as I am sure the local chazzer shops would rather it go on to another life as they honestly get almost nothing for it.Well £2.80 for a 8kg bag :(
Also bric a brac goes to landfill after about 3 weeks :( and it costs them for it to be picked up so when I said I will take it she was so happy it was staying out of landfill :D

I decided to do everything at £1 some of the stuff is worth much more than that but it makes it easier for me plus people are getting a bargain so are telling all their friends ;) So hopefully it will become a regular date in peoples diaries ;) Thats what I am aiming for and its nice to be able to help people and the charities we choose :D

I am picking up a 150 (ish ) items on Monday  So will keep me busy sorting that lot out into sizes etc.
