Went to the charity shop for a payday treat and came back with an M&S boat printed blue maxi dress and a Sainsbury's long sleeved top also with boats on. Someone was clearly getting rid of their boat clothes! I love both, particularly the dress, but i do feel I have to buy some sandals for it. Total on those two is 7 pounds.

Hi All - Greetings from Spain - It's Siesta/Shade time & I was checking my emails (have to do that on holiday now I'm self-employed !!) so thought I would pop on. I decided to keep the poncho - mostly because I was driving myself crazy with my indecision. Wore it to the airport & I do like it - I can imagine wearing it a lot to be honest. So £35 to add for poncho and £8 for 2 camisole tops from M&S.

My holiday reading is - The More of Less: Finding the Life you want under everything you own... so hopefully I will have renewed motivation for this challenge when I get back :A - it's certainly making me feel like having a really good clear out.

    I have added you Mummy2three - Welcome :)
Shifting my energy for 2020 :heart::heart:

For the first time this year, I'm over budget so far (over half spent by the end of May.) Have bought too much in the TU sale, though I think I will return a pair of jeans.

We've moved and yet again seem to have less wardrobe space than the previous property (I swear the most wardrobe storage we had was in the 1 bed flat we used to stay in years ago) also the wardrobes in the main bedroom are shallower than expected where they've fitted sliding doors so half the hangers we have now don't fit. Which was met with s bit of s tantrum from me :o no hanging space either for longer items due to shelf units in the bottom of the wardrobes. So going to have to buy new hangers in the interim while we figure out what to do. Also back to the old canvas 'temp' wardrobe from the old house as the removal men couldn't get the big wardrobe we had out (it had been glued due to an assembly hiccup :o) never...moving,,,again :rotfl:

Fell of the wagon already. I bought a skirt and a top. That said they where so very beautiful, vintage looking boho lacey , perfect for my style. second hand £10.50 for both. Hey ho must do better.

Maybe June 1st would be a good time to start, Nice 6 month streach!

Florence those boat outfits sound exactly like I would buy! Good find, perfect for summer. Should I be encouraging spending..umm no lol x

Ahh Kerri Well thats one more thing on my list to check if we move the depth of the wardrobes. I would never have thought to check that either and would also have thrown my toys out of the pram to have to face that !

I have a tallboy which isnt very deep and I keep jackets in there on childrens hangers which work really well so you could try that. The jackets never fall off but the hangers are wooden very cheap on E*ay:D

I am now running a monthly(at the moment) clothes sale  for charity at our village hall. Everything is £1 an item :)

Popped in my to fav chazzer as I know the manager really well and they were clearing the sale rail of clothes into clear bags so asked if they were off to recycling. Yep they were they stay in the shop for 2 weeks then a week on the sale rail and then out.!

Asked her how much they get and its £2.80 per 8kg bag  Which is 50- 60 items depending on what it is. So asked if I could buy it off her every week. :)

So yep I collect every Monday now either 1 or 2 bags sort it out in the village hall we had our first charity sale on Sunday as something else was going on in the other room and made £48 :rotfl:So a great profit to be had and the charity shop is well pleased as the recycling company will only take 10 bags at a time so they have to store it :) until they have the 10 bags.
So we are all happy and Help for Heros are our charity for 3 months then we will change it to another charity ;)

So we can put my sale on to the roadtrip ;) The items included Jane Norman, Boden,Monsoon, Next, a Hobbs dress (which didnt sell) :rotfl:Are people mental :D Top shop and a lot of M&S all the items had already been checked so only 3 items didnt make my grade and went in recycling.

Somerandom, have a lovely holiday and do let us have a review on the book - I seem to take some comfort in owning about 1,000,000 cotton dresses and it is probably madness!
Mavvymoo we need to come to your sale! What a great way for everyone to make some money. £1 an item for good quality stuff sounds AMAZING

I did the car boot sale yesterday and it was FREEZING so we didn't stay as long as we might have. The children hated it as expected, but enjoyed their third share each of the £170 we made!

Well done vintagegal on the bootsale that is an amazing total :T Next time (if there is one):rotfl:Pick a nice sunny day as thats what I always do,Which is why the stuff stays for ever and then gets taken to a Charity shop.:o So dont wait:rotfl:

Yep £1 is a really cheap price but it helps the people out who havent got much. Also helps the dealers out :rotfl:But I dont care as they are paying the same as everyone else so I dont care what they do with it :)

And we are making around £50 profit for a £3 outlay so everyone is happy including me as I love doing it and its great fun and I have it really organised already so not a lot of hassle.
I have been donated 4x 5ft strong (shop) clothes rails so once I have enough clothes to fill them all I am going to do a couple of bootsales and give leaflets out for our monthly sales ;) to buyers.

I reckon I will do really well at the bootsales as we have loads of holidaymakers here as well as the locals :D and as we know a £1 is nothing and you will always treat yourself when you are on holiday :T
Have a lovely holiday somerandom x

I got some cheapo hangers from wilko that fit, and will order some new trouser hangers from amazon. Childrens hangers are just a bit small for OH stuff to hang on but I found a site in the US that does 'Petite' size hangers which are 14.5" across - I'm going over on business soon so will have some shipped to a good colleague and collect when I'm there.

Well done on the boot sale profit vintagegal what were you selling? I must counter Mav's advise (sorry Mav) but the worst sale I ever did was on a day with the best weather. There were loads of sellers and buyers were just out for a stroll. I stood there for hours dehydrating in the heat and made about £20 (which was better than nowt but not overly worth the effort)

off to look at hangers now....
