I bought a top today. I got an email with £15 off anything on a website, so I bought the top I wanted for £14 instead of £29. I'm buying the Skechers on Sunday so I will update me total after that.

The top is red and white so will go nicely with a pair of navy trousers I have for work but have never worn. I always wear black trousers, so navy will make a change.

  • Mavvy - it would have been very wrong to have left those behind.

I spent £4.00 on a furry gilet - I've bought it to go with an outfit I have planned for a 70s / 80s disco I'm going to next month.

  • Hi all,
Was wondering if I could join the challenge? I have spent far too much money or Christine and Juju cardigans and Irregular Choice shoes in the past this may motivate me to make some cut backs... Not sure how to best set myself a challenge a budget or restrictions, what would you recommend???

Debtfreedolly Well done for taking the plunge :D This challenge does really help and does really make you think about what you do REALLY need.

You do need to set a budget of some sort and put it in you sig.

Have a think what you reckon you spent last year and halve it :D

Mine is £500 for the year (which is still too much ) But spent over double that last year so its a start.

Also I find trying to go for so many Months or Weeks spend free really helps as well :D Mine is 25 weeks spend free.as I find Months a lot harder for a strange reason :D

Set yourself a target which you can stick too (ish) or you will get disheartened and if you can stay under budget well done to you.

Post every week to let us know how you are getting on and if you need support we are here to help :)

Thank you! How do I adjust my signature? I think I will set myself a budget of £30 a month, that would definitely be under what I spent last year...

Hi Debtfreedolly When you are logged in you will see above 'quick links' If you click on that and then about half way down the list you will see edit sig or something like that.:D You can do it there ;) I am sure someone will come along with better instructions than me :rotfl:

So £30 a month sounds good so with 10 months left you have a £300 budget. Thats the same as a lot of folk on here :D

    Good luck

mavvy - that's a fantastic price for designer trousers.

I got 3 more items for my new job yesterday:

M&S wide leg grey trousers in long length 99p
M&S fully lined mock wrap skirt in black 99p
Black shirt with white lovehearts 99p

    I have to stop now.

  • Just had to chuck the leopard ankle boots I bought in the bin. They arrived on the 4th but today was the first time I'd worn them.

I've never in my life worn such an uncomfortable and badly designed pair of shoes. Like, it must have taken special effort and some serious engineering to make them that bad. The heel is only 2" but it feels like walking around in a pair of 8" pinpoint stilettos. Every muscle in my legs is screaming from the effort of remaining upright and my left foot kept rolling outward. When I got home I looked them over and can't *see* anything wrong with them - not even the left one - so I don't know why they're so awful

Only went to the post office (.75 miles away) but actually walked back in my socks even though it was raining heavily because that preferable.

I'm past the return date (and don't have the box anyway), and I'm not going to sell them because I wouldn't inflict that on anyone.

So, if anyone comes across a pair of leopard print ankle boots with a 2" or lower heel for less than £15 hit me up because I'm back in the market.

  • Welcome Debtfree have added you :)

I've spent £26.00 on a Pea Green Cashmere cardigan on eBay. Hope it's as nice as it looks on-line. Quite a big chunk out of my annual budget already. I'm not particularly bothered about that but wondering if I should be .... I will ponder on that one...

I'm going to have a bit of a clothes clear out today - Marie Kondo style - I feel a little bit "stuck" today and don't know why - hoping that a good de-clutter will help...
