    1. To re-do our bathroom and maybe finish upstairs rooms.
    2. To spend less time wasting time on the internet!!
    3. To have a nice but cheap holiday so we can afford to go somewhere special for our 30ths!

    1. Bathroom is in progress but bedrooms will probably be next year!
    2. I still waste too much time online!
    3. Just got back from a lovely but not cheap holiday! Found out just after we got back that lowcostholidays went into administration and we'd booked through them so we went at the right time! Still have plans for a special 30th though. :D

I wasn't very successful with my 2015 targets but I'm willing to give it another go!

Lose weight - I want to lose 4 stone over the year. Only lost just over a stone but dropped a dress size and lost quite a few inches

Save - I want to save £6,000 by December. £3400 already saved

Be more active - exercise 4 times a week been walking at least 5 times a week (weather permitting) and do floor exercises 4 mornings a week

Eat better - up my fruit and veg intake to 4-5 portions a day. easier to do in summer I must confess, think I'm hitting the 4 portions a day during the week, need to improve during the weekend though

Craft more - I spend too much time sat wasting time playing games on my tablet when I have a well stocked craft room upstairs! going for walks have kind of got in the way really now it's summer but I did have a crafting splurge back in spring when the weather was pants

Think I'm doing quite well for me :)

Thought I would return to this thread. A bit early but I won't have time over the xmas period...

I was fairly successful in 2015 so here goes...

I need to cut my sugar consumption I managed to cut out most of my sugar and lost 2 stone in weight. I've slipped up recently but will return to sugar free after xmas.

I HAVE to stop smoking otherwise cutting out sugar is useless right-Hmm this is an ongoing battle. Hopefully in the new year!

I need to learn to cook more, but hopefully that will come with my new diet-I cook from scratch every day. My cooking skills have come on in leaps and bounds. I'm actually quite proud of this..

I want to cut out all meats. At the moment I am a pescanarian because I'm afraid I'm going to miss out on protein, but hopefully I can learn more about foods and feel able to become a full vegetarian-I am a vegetarian now and have learned how to cook balanced meals for myself and my family :).

I want to keep improving my relationships with my wife, my children, granddaughter-(all good here)] and siblings-(hmm still up and down). The relationships with my brother and sisters are not good but I will keep trying.

I need to pass this first year of my masters-stop procrastinating!-I passed my first year but have decided to take a break for a bit as it was doing my head in lol

It will be interesting to see how far I get in the new year-I have revamped my wardrobe after losing weight and have dyed my hair pink, my granddaughter loves it. I have acquired several new tattoos and piercings and generally reverted to my old self after years of depression. I also saw my favourite band live for the first time at my first ever music festival, then saw them again a month later. I have also returned to painting and hope to continue improving.

Heres to a great christmas and new year.

    1. Get back in shape after having two kids. I'd like to lose a bit of weight, get my tummy back under control, and feel fitter.

Somehow in my head, this became a resolution that I was going to work on next year... we did sort out our diets this year, tho.

    2. Finish sorting out the garage. We've made some progress getting the house in order since moving in, but the garage is still full of clutter. It would be good to be able to use it to park a car by this time next year!

Nope. Most of the problem is my OH's books. We agreed we were going to try and get the bookshelves sorted when we're both off for xmas... so maybe still time...

    3. Have all the major sorting out of the house rooms finished - make sure the main furniture is in the right place in the right rooms, and we have enough storage. Possibly also have the study shelved...

    Nope...

    4. Get DD1 happily started at school.

Yes :D This was a big one, and I'm very happy it went well.

    5. Be less stressed.

Maybe. I still get snappy and frustrated, but less often. Mostly because DD2 is a bit older now.

    6. Get more sleep.

I'm working on this. I decided a few weeks back to try and be in bed by 10pm each night. It does depend on how well the kids sleep, but i'm making progress.

    7. Do a proper sort out of my clothes and get the stuff i don't want / won't wear off to charity. Buy some nice new clothes that fit me properly.

A work in progress. I'd like to spend a bit more time doing this, but I don't have much to spare atm.

I'll try again for 2017. I like the idea of long-term goals (even if I don't quite achieve them...)

  • 1. Get my weight down to 9 stone
    2. Pass my driving theory test and start having driving lessons again
    3. Start going to parkrun
    4. Worry less

    1. Still about half a stone heavier than my goal
    2. HAHAHAHA
    3. Didn't make it, not even once
    4. Hmmm, nope.
  • Great thread, my goals for this year are:-

    1. To loose 2 stone or there abouts, my health isn't good so loosing the weight should sort that out.
    2. Keep on top of the housework, I need to have a declutter first, so will have to make time for this in January
    3. Get out more, me and the oh hardly ever socialise, our 2 kids keep nagging us to get out more so will try better.
4.Get back into my running and exercise routine, once the weight starts to drop this will be easier.
    5. Teach myself to crochet, last year I got back into knitting and I love knitting for others, but I've always wanted to crochet, I've got the crochet hook and watched a few vids on YouTube , I will take it more serious this year.

I think that's it, all doable so there's no excuse for me.

    1. Found out the reason my health wasn't so good was that I have Graves' disease, what isn't fair about this is, usually one of the symptoms is unexplained weight loss but this is one symptom I didn't have. I have actually put on weight since starting medication but hopefully will be able to stop taking this soon and get some weight off.
    2. My house never got the declutter but I have kept on top of cleaning.
    3. Didn't happen, the oh has depression which worsened over this past year meaning he hasn't felt up to going out much. We have had a few outings but I would have liked to have done more.
    4. Didn't happen because of my health.
    5. Failed miserably, but still knitting, the family aren't that bothered about knitted clothing so our local homeless group have benefited from this as I've knit loads of hats.
I will improve next year :rotfl:
  • Happy New Year!

This year I would like to:

Continue with my course of study in order to get a new job
Get a new job in the area that I'm currently studying
    Begin to reduce my debts
    Start saving money
Socialise a little more (I love doing karaoke - last year I only got to go to karaoke once!)

I'm still studying - I really need to be more discplined with it!
I start my new job on Monday!
I'm still in debt - I'm looking to start to reduce it in the coming year.
I've saved a little bit of money for emergencies.
I mostly socialised at home this year. I think I did one karaoke session this year too! :rotfl:

2 out of 3 isn't bad! Bathroom is done, had a lovely holiday in Italy and the special one is booked for next year! I still waste too much time on the internet though.
  • Hello :)

    2016:

Lose weight not as much as I'd like

Maintain weight around the 9stone mark not yet :(

Train for a half marathon done one this year!

Look into (with the aim of starting) strength training no

Pay off at least half of debt no:eek::mad: but now finally have things under control and I'm not stressed by it

Get at least one room redecorated yep!!

Save for new bathroom and kitchen (dont expect to get them done this year but would like to start saving) got one done :T

Visit a country I've not yet been to yes

    Learn to drive No:(

Ultimately I just want us all to make it through the year happy, safe and healthy. Completing the above will be amazing too :)It's been a strange year but I'm grateful I'm still here :)

I've done some of the easier things and guess I've been a bit lazy with the more challenging things. I'm getting there :)
£15900 loan (including interest) over 3.5 years to pay off...can I do it sooner???
    £940/£15900

This year I shall try to:
    1. Lose weight: I managed to lose 47lbs last year. I have 2 -2.5 stones left to go and I'd like to shift that. Fail. Increase in meds meant losing weight became so much harder. I haven't gained weight but I didn't lose any either. I've been yo-yoing the same 4lbs since last December.
    2. Cook from scratch more. I have got lazy recently. Actually dine this. Even started a pinterest board for recipes
    3. Not be so lazy about the housework. Hahaha. Nope.
    4. Save more money. Tried but this year has been a black hole for money
    5. Socialise more to stop me being such a hermit.Nope

    So basically, stop being lazy.

That's pretty poor. Must try harder.
