1. Sell my house in order to invest for my early retirement.
2. Get another promotion at work.
3. Put a stop to all the holidays booked on my behalf with my family in order that I can sort things out.
4. Run another marathon. Ran my one and only marathon nearly 6 years ago and done absolutely nowt since. Been entered to run the Great North Run (13 miles) this year to assist somebody get around. Considered that if I am going to train for this I may as well go the whole hog and train up to 20 miles again. Minor setback is I am having an hernia op in February so will have staggered training, but I will do it.
5. Based on the above, lose some weight, get fit and this time keep the fitness.
6. Get back to playing football at the age of 48.
7. Fit back into my work suits
8. Get my campervan into a workshop for renovation. I'm quite lazy at times.
Great thread OP .0 -
I missed the 2015 thread when it started, although I posted in the previous year's thread.
As some of you know, I have terminal cancer, so my main goal is to still be here in December!
Due to my cancer, I don't tend to plan things too far in advance, but I do intend to have a couple of weeks holiday in Swanage. A week in spring/summer and another in September.
I also want to try and build up my appetite so I'm able to eat a meal without leaving any, as it's really annoying when we go out to eat as I have to pass on the starter and dessert and usually have to leave some of the main.
So my goals are:
To eat more.
To stay alive.

A lot of mine have now been carried over for at least 2 years but here goes:
1. To stay positive in the run up to my hip replacement op 15 Feb, and afterwards. Am really hoping for a quick recovery and PMA helps
2. To up the activity levels...hopefully having to do stuff as part of my post-op rehab will trigger me to be generally more active
3. To eat better
4. To lose weight and tone up - relies on me getting 2 and 3 sorted
5. To declutter at home - we're redecorating so moving loads of stuff round and it'll give me the perfect opportunity to clear out
6. To work sensible hours - was often out of the house from 7am to 8pm and no home life
7. To tidy up music and photos in my electronic storage
8. To keep up with my blog that I'm doing to chart my hip journey
9. To cook more at home
10. Hip permitting, to resume horse-riding which I haven't done in years, and bollywood dancing0 -

I didn't join last years thread but my main aim for the year was to beat Agoraphobia....which I did (Yay!!).
So this year is a continuation of that really.
I'd like to learn to swim
I'd like to go on holiday
I'd like to attempt to go to the cinema.
I will improve my diet
I will continue to work on my marriage
I will try and save some money0 -
Ooh a new thread.

1) to eat less junk and to lose a couple of stone in weight
2) to exercise regularly instead of being a couch potato
3) to go on a proper holiday
4) to declutter the house and keep it decluttered
5) To grow my business and increase my income
6) to pay a chunk off the mortgage
7) to save 5kGE 36 *MFD may 2043

I'm so glad I read all your ideas before posting mine
somehow looking at other peoples goals really helps put your own into perspective. Thanks all for sharing.
My biggest goal this year is to become more intentional again. I feel like I spent the end of last year running around chasing my tail. The house was chaos, work was chaos and by Christmas I felt exhausted and ended up giving my worst energy to the people I care for the most. That's partly why I put off writing this til now, feeling the need to stop and actually think. I also realised that a lot of the things I've stopped doing are things that give me pleasure and I need to take responsibility for talking negatively to myself about things that I know really do make me happier underneath it all.
Anyway the specifics are:
Improve my time management
- Allocate time to myself and don't feel guilty about it
- Resist the gravitational pull of sitting in front of the TV after work (which I don't even enjoy that much)
- Be very aware of time wasting at work and keep improving my work life balance
- Set expectations and take control of how much I let other people derail me at work (refuse to do other people's jobs for them)
- Be aware of directing energy towards those who need it and those who recharge my batteries rather than those who demand from me and drain me.
- Spend time with family and friends and enjoy this time
- Make time to notice the good stuff and to be grateful for it
(and hopefully lose a little weight!)- Walk at least 12k steps a day every day
- Get to bed on time (by 10.30) and read rather than surf
- Work towards calmness rather than stress
- Go to the gym at least once a week and yoga at least twice a week
- Eat healthfully - with a focus on good fats, vegetables and protein
- Be very aware of keeping my intake of sugar low - especially alcohol!
- Get back on top of my finances and create a budget (household and personal)
- Be very aware of my spending - plan for bigger budget items
- Cut grocery spending and eat out less
- Do a little longer term housework every day
- Tidy up before going to bed
- Don't let clutter gather up

I wasn't very successful with my 2015 targets but I'm willing to give it another go!
Lose weight - I want to lose 4 stone over the year.
Save - I want to save £6,000 by December
Be more active - exercise 4 times a week
Eat better - up my fruit and veg intake to 4-5 portions a day.
Craft more - I spend too much time sat wasting time playing games on my tablet when I have a well stocked craft room upstairs!0 -
A belated mid year review while there's still time to change my ways. Work totally took over the last three months and it's left me drained and even more overweight. But it's up to me to get a grip! Anyone else want to do a review? Would love to hear how you're all getting on!belfastgirl23 wrote: »I'm so glad I read all your ideas before posting mine
