Thank you for doing this - I feel quite positive about last year so here's my list for 2016...
* Get my savings up to 10k
* Eat more protein - a SMART target would be for me to eat either eggs or fish each day as a minimum!
* Walk 5 times a week for 30 mins.
* Sort out and tidy house so it's minimalist and easy to keep clean and tidy!
* Would love to conceive - there is a bump in the road as far as that is concerned so hoping 2016 sheds light on what we can do to ease things along!
Good luck!:rotfl:0 -
Funnily enough I posted in Dec 2014's thread but not in 2015!
My goals for 2016 are:
> Declutter. Do this over the next 12 months. Throw out what I've not used in 2015. I've not had a good 2015 and the side effect has been shopping sprees on things I don't need.
> Spend 1hr on each Saturday and Sunday in the garden as its currently a jungle of weeds.
> Say 'yes' to social events and 'no' to work!
There are more but these are the ones I'm going to make an effort to keep the most. Hoping to reap the benefits of a clearer home, tidier garden and more time to spend in both!
Best of luck to everyone on this thread in 2016!

Leonard: How much you got?
Penny: Nothing!
Leonard: How can you walk around with no money?
Penny: I'm cute, I get by.0 -
Great idea for a thread! What I'd like to achieve:
Work - get a major project completed and signed off successfully, start planning full time work maybe consider retraining
House - get some work in the kitchen done, paint DD's and DS2's bedrooms, paint cloakroom, possibly money permitting sort lounge
Kids - get them more active, get more support for eldest child who has SEN and get DD settled into school
Money - keep on top of it, reduce grocery bill, spend more wisely, sell some stuff, complete self assessment
Health - run twice a week, watch my diet and lose some weight as put loads on over Christmas, keep my anxiety in check,
I think its all achievable but we'll see.0 -

I'll play.
1/ Keep my job, and/or find a new one I enjoy more
2/ Open a savings account
3/ Be less messy. Ok, be a LOT less messy.
4/ Find a good guy who's willing to be my boyfriend.
That's it.

Thanks for the thread - I missed it last year but would like to see in twelve months if I manage to achieve any of mine

Lose weight - three stone is my target - and keep it off
Sort out smoking - I do it too much but I'm not ready yet to give up
Save money
Having recently quit my job because it was too much work not enough person, I need to get a job but I want it to be one where I'm happy and don't feel sick at the thought of going in
Complete my self assessment before the deadline
Learn to knit
Walk lots and maybe take up running again too. I normally do lots of walking but with very painful plantar fasciitis it's not easy at the mo
spend more time at my allotment doing allotmenty things and less time just watching my chickens :rotfl:
Good luck everyone

Saving money like a trouper...0 -
In no particular order...
* To lose 3st this year and keep it off (need to lose 6st really but I think 3st is realistic)
*To either start overpaying on my mortgage or to save £100 per month for an emergency fund
*To exercise at the gym/swimming 3xs per week
*To keep my step count over 15k per day
*To get back to growing my own vegetables and enjoying my garden
*To work at my self esteem
*To try to keep on top of the tidying without getting stressed by other people's untidiness
Think that'll do for a start. Will be interesting to see how many I manage!0 -
Right, determined to do more this year, but not too much (cos if i try to do everything i doubt i will manage it all).
I want to:
-See my friends more often, i've been a bit distracted with the bf and work and tbh didn't make enough time for people last year so this year i need to try and see people more and not leave it months inbetween
-Gigs. There's some brilliant bands on tour this year and i miss going to gigs, barely went to any this year so i'm going to aim for as many as i can afford
-This is going to sound silly, but i have an overwhelming anxiety living in this houseshare (mainly involving one unpleasant hosuemate
) that has led to me being to anxious to actually cook a meal for the past year
(seriously i can barely face leaving my room half the time for fear of bumping into said housemate). This year i am buying a slowcooker and i'm going to get myself back in that damn kitchen and not let the fear win. So healthy homecooked meals
-Exercise! To start off with i'm going to aim for at least an hour a week (walking, swimming or zumba) and try to build it up so it becomes routine
-Weight loss. I failed at this last year. But this year my aim is not to lose tons of weight (as much as i'd love to)
but to try and lose weight steadily and keep it off. I realise this goal may take all year, and i may not get very far, but anything is an improvement on right now
-I'm not commiting to finding a new job, but by december i hope to have least have had a good think about what i want to do career wise and made at least one positive step towards it
I think that shall do. Good luck everyone and wishing you a wonderful 2016 :jThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
This year I shall try to:
- Lose weight: I managed to lose 47lbs last year. I have 2 -2.5 stones left to go and I'd like to shift that.
- Cook from scratch more. I have got lazy recently.
- Not be so lazy about the housework.
- Save more money.
- Socialise more to stop me being such a hermit.
So basically, stop being lazy.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
