....and am now in possession of only clothing/shoes/bags that make me feel good.
That must be a great feeling susan. I'm aiming to be there some time. What I'm finding is that I need some replacements for things that I love but are well worn but they're not always available when I need them.
Today we're off to the pub to watch football and we'll have lunch while we're there. I've put on black jeans and a White Stuff white tee shirt. Ideally I'd have a pair of more summery trousers but I got rid of the 'beige' crops that I had because they felt frumpy and also a white pair that didn't feel right. I've seen people wearing slim, trousers that barely reach the ankle so will look out for those. I have some in black but they're too formal for weekend wear.
sugarbaby, what a great idea to take a range of measurements as well as your weight. You're almost at the 2 stone!:T I expect a lot of the losses are also due to being more toned since you've had your job. Are you eating less or differently?
Same with you indie, you're doing really well to get back to a weight from years ago. I think you're right to buy a minimum as you intend to lose more. Isn't it great that you kept some things and you can get into them again!
Glorious day here today. Hope the sun's shining on you all.:)0 -
Maman, h&m have a great selection of slim leg ankle grazing trousers and jeans/jeggings.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

10.00. Am Barcelona 14C rain, 09.00 am Derby 18C Sunny......:D
Too hot outside now, am in my nice cool lounge.:rotfl: will sit out later when it cools down a bit.
Had a horsey morning, watching my sister compete - then lunch at one of my favourite restaurants, 250 year old coaching inn, one of our city's historic inns. The in-laws just love all this "typical English stuff" - horses, traditional roast dinners, old pubs, they just lap it up, probably Chatsworth tomorrow whilst the weather holds.
Rain forecast for Wednesday onwards.......
Some great weight losses.0 -
Sugarbaby - I have a red suede jacket which I can just about squeeze into but I really can't wear it. Perhaps we should have a race to see who gets into their red jackets first. :rotfl:
Indie - great news that you have some nice things you can get into again.0 -
Evening everyone - thanks for the welcome Maman.
Still making an effort, I rejoined Weight Watchers yesterday, none of my summer clothes really fit me and I don't want to spend the summer feeling fat and frumpy. This early heatwave has been a blessing in making me realise that when summer comes full on in about 6 weeks I should be able to get into my lighter clothes.
I have also started my walking again, I had got really de motivated as my fitbit wasn't syncing with my computer and unless I checked my daily steps just before midnight I didn't know what I was doing. Glad to say it's all fixed now after 3 months off line and I have already done 13,500 steps today.
My biggest issue is the wine, I am drinking heavily at the moment and really don't like myself for it. I am trying to limit my drinking now to Friday and Saturday nights only. This should save money as well as helping with the weight loss.
It's nice to see what you are all wearing, my wardrobe is boring at the moment, it should liven up when I've lost some weight and have a bit more choice. I have about 2 1/2 stone to lose so not a huge amount on paper but it's the getting into the swing of it that is the difficult part.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, looks like the weather is going to break from tomorrow going forward but we have really been blessed these last few days.Sealed pot challenge number - #057 2017 = £172.57 2018 = ????

Hello Susan and welcome. You have got yourself off to a good start.
Indie you have done fantastic with your weight loss. It sounds like you had real fun trying on clothing and discovering just how slim you have become. I hope you reach your ultimate weight that you feel is perfect for you. Your wardrobe is expanding because of your new size.
Wayne is so keen on me, I have to keep putting the breaks on him. He would have had us engaged already otherwise!!!!
Maman I do the measurements as it motivates me for the weeks when I do not lose weight or gain a pound or two to keep eating healthily. Even if I only lose half an inch somewhere on my body, it is a great incentive. My cleaning job is toning me up. Miracle of miracles it is even improving my terrible bingo wings and I had given up hope there. I eat less of sugary or fatty snacks, but overall I eat much more of the right kinds of foods and lots of fresh fruit and fresh, frozen and canned vegetables. I rarely eat chocolate now, even though I love chocolate to the point of considering myself a chocolate addict.
LL The race is on! Let's see which of the two of us is able to wear their red jacket first :T
Hello Scatterbrain and welcome0 -
Hello Fabbers!
Just dropping by for a quick hello. Life is a bit frantic at the moment as I have OU exams early next month so I'm supposed to be revising every spare moment. My job is also a bit in limbo, all staff a bit on edge (I work for BHS). Due to all the stress I am falling off the 5:2 wagon a fair bit reaching for the wrong foods, also skipping on the gym, due to time demandsI am 10 kgs lighter this year than I was about this time last year, so I really don't want to fall back into bad habits. Today I have a day off so booked a Body Balance class, nice calming yoga, then I will take my revision into the sunshine!
I also have to seriously think about what I am going to wear next monday for our trip to Buckingham Palace DoE awards ceremony! I have a pink linen monsoon dress with embroidery down one side, years old but still immaculate, nude heels and I do have a long checked pink/blue/white summer coat, though I may buy a inexpensive cream cardigan instead, it depends on the weather. Anyway I have to try it all on and decide at some point in the next few days, as well as check over DD19's plans and make sure she has the right clothes to be decently turned out.
Last night I took a break on the revision as I had literally stopped absorbing anything, and took a nice bath complete with hair treatment, face and body scrub, then broke out the Garnier holiday skin lotion to get a bit of a fake tan, and managed to tidy up my nails and hands while watching 'Hinterland'. After a week of looking a bit unkept I feel miles better! No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -
Good morning all.
I was pleased with myself yesterday. Went to a local free festival with friends and and instead of having street food and alcohol I had a vegetarian omelette at home and drank water. Not saying I am not going to eat out or drink again, but if I can just cut down a bit it will help get me to my goal more quickly. Drinking is a bit of a disaster on many levels - it's not just the calories in the drink, but all the extra food I end up eating afterwards.
This morning I went for a workout in the park and tried on a workout outfit I bought earlier this year in the sale in Sports Direct which was too snug when I bought it, and it fit, so I wore that. I also walked the mile to and from the park to add to the workout (sometimes I leave it a bit late and drive). My trainer had me using heavier weights than usual and I could really feel it - but if it helps tone the upper arms that's all good.
Lots of errands to get done today before yoga tonight so better crack on - have a good day all x0 -

Wine was probably my biggest issue too. What I did was join this thread:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/usercp.php
and cut down on the wine first before joining Slimming World. Now I've cut back I can save the wine for weekend treats that fit into the healthy eating plan.
It's the same as you were saying indie. I haven't stopped drinking or eating out but I try to make wise choices for a balanced diet. I think probably the most important thing I learned with wine and food was not to give into the s*d it principle. So if you have a really greedy meal or day or weekend even a whole holiday it's worth drawing a line and starting afresh rather than telling yourself you've blown it and just carry on. Wise comments about the tinned and frozen veg sugarbaby, every bit as healthy (sometimes more so) than fresh and takes away the excuse of not having any fresh in.
How exciting shandy, do keep us posted on what you choose for the palace.:) It must be worrying for anyone working for BHS at the moment but hopefully with your confidence from fabbing and your study you can look for something even better.
Weather's still nice here at the moment. Dancing tonight so will wear a skirt as usual but not sure if bare legs can come out yet. Decision needed on length of skirt first.;)0 -
Been doing a little shopping today and discovered in three shops, Sainsbury's TU, Next and White Stuff I am now a 14. I strongly suspect 14s are larger than when I last regularly bought them (which must be over a decade ago) and that these shops are on the generous side with their sizing, but it made me happy all the same.
In particular I bought a couple of pairs of slim fit cropped jeans in White Stuff and I bought a 16 in the same style last summer so it's nice to see that the 14 now fits whilst my 16 pair needs a belt to keep them up.
Weather has changed rather dramatically here - was 25 and sunny early afternoon, now dropped to about 17 and raining heavily. Oh well, at least we had the best of the sun yesterday afternoon, I won't complain too much. Usually it's sunny while I am at the office and then chucks it down at the weekend.
What kind of dancing do you do Maman?0
