:T congratulations. It's great when we hit those little milestones.:)

Would you post a link to the wedges chanie, please? I do have one pair but I'm thinking I might like another as I've got used to wearing heels and could do with something for the summer.

    http://www.clarks.co.uk/p/26115180

Here they are - if the link doesn't work, they are the clarks helio. I have ordered the metallic ones, as they are the only ones left in my size.

    Hello lovely ladies.....

What a fabulous few days, lots of lovely sunshine. It's been manic here getting ready for the next two wedding ceremonies, visiting dad sorting out his paperwork, blitzing the house - you get the pucture.

And what fabulous positive vibes on here - sugarbabes weight loss, holidays, new wedge sandals, talk about dancing.....fab. Ruby - are your babies really 7 months old already - how time races by. Good luck with the job hunting, Beluga and great news about the masters.

Well I'm just about ready, off to Barcelona early Wednesday morning, ceremony on Saturday. DIL wants DS and I to do a mother/groom dance. :rotfl: I googled suitable songs and they were all either dirges or the lyrics were too soppy. TBH I find the idea a bit maudlin.

In the end I settled on "That's Amore!" by Dean Martin. Funny lyrics and a little bit cheesy .......it's a daft little sing along that people can join in with and clap to so will hopefully get the party atmosphere going.

"When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's Amore!"

They don't write lyrics like that any more - lol.

My sister and I have decided to take dad to Belguim in August so there's another nice little trip to look forward to. I really fancy a trip on the Eurostar.

Ive settled on the blue silk dress and jacket combo for the cathedral. Very Jackie O. A couple of lightweight silk chiffon frocks for evening dinners etc and then mainly lightweight linen trousers and tops for sightseeing. It's not really a beach/resort holiday so I'll just take one pair of shorts and one swimcossie just in case we manage to hit the beach.

I'll be back before you know it so in my absence keep up the good work.

    Carry On Fabbing. ;)

    Ps fab sandals.

:hello: Can I join please? I've had a really rough few years that have resulted in me putting on three stone and generally letting myself go to seed. I suffer with eczema and psoriasis, both of which have got a bit out of control. I'm 34 and have started to get major wrinkles and some grey hairs, as well as the teenage spots that never went away

I've made a bit of a start on the chub with Slimming World, but it's only in the last few days I've really started to take the rest of me in hand, including my house which has been a bit of a pigsty.

Anyway, that's me. Off out to work shortly in blusher and mascara, and slathered in moisturiser :D

Thanks for posting LL, I've been wondering how the preparations were going. You and DS should have tried a bit of flamenco for the wedding dance!:rotfl:

Actually wedding dances seem to be all the rage now (although I've never heard of groom and mother doing one before). The couples seem to put in a huge amount of preparation and even take lessons specially. There's a dance teacher that uses the same hall as my Scottish class before us that has couples there to learn their wedding dances. I love watching them if I get there early. It's popular because although ancient (the hall that is) it has a fantastic, sprung wooden floor. They don't seem to be built like that any more.

Love the sandals chanie. They look smart as well as comfortable. I think metallic can be very practical. I have some silver ballet flats I love wearing.

I've got an opticians appointment this afternoon. I don't think there's any change from last year so hopefully no extra expense there. I only wear glasses for driving and watching football/theatre and I have prescription sunglasses as I use them for driving and sightseeing. I noticed when I walked past the shop (closed on Sunday) that all Fit Flops are now reduced so I might take another look.

Have a great time in Barcelona LL. Do keep us posted.:)

Me & DH had professional lessons before our wedding at one of the local dance schools. It was a really hot summer and we used to drink lots of wine while practising the night before the lesson. Then poor DH would be hungover and have to hold a summer-clothes dressed dance teacher for his steps, in sweltering heat!

DILs little sister is a very accomplished flamenco dancer. She's won lots ofcompetitions and has just passed her exams to become a dance teacher. She was going to be part of the entertainment and had
Promised to teach me a few moves.

Unfortunately she can't come to any of the ceremonies. She is In her final year training to be a doctor and all her finals are set for May and June. If she doesn't sit them it will set her back a whole year so obviously she will be doing her exams.

Such a shame, she will be missed and I know she is upset. And I know she is disappointed at not being able to ride my sisters horses. She's horse mad......

Hopefully she will come over next year.

Have just taken the cat to his "cat hotel" for his holidays, Just about to start the final tidy up, water all the plants, pack, eat and then hopefully sleep.

We have to set off at 3 am tomorrow:eek: I'll be on my knees, good job we've got 2 full days then before the wedding.

DIL has booked some treatments for Friday so I might see if I can get a massage, manicure and pedicure. Or at least a massage. I feel as stiff as a board today. Everything is seizing up.....maybe some WD40:rotfl:

Welcome Tete. I'll have a proper "chat" with you when I get back.

Don't know if you know this but I'm a qualified beauty therapist (non practising) with a special interest in natural products and skincare. Perhaps we can work out a regime to help that excema and psoriasis. TBH it's trial and error - what suits one person might not suit another.

I have tempremental skin - technically "pre-excema" with just an occasional flare up having finally worked out what suits me best. I have the occasional patch of psoriasis but usually manage to keep it under control.

A word of advice try not to overuse steroid creams, OK for emergencies but definitely not for long term use. I don't know if you use emollients like Cetraban etc but my advice is don't....they will thin the skin over time.

Basically try and use natural products, and avoid anything containing Sodium Laurel Sulphate (SLS). It strips the skin of natural oils and can cause irritation.

I appreciate that natural products are more expensive so I make a lot of my own. It's easier than it sounds. For the face I would suggest almond or wheat germ oil, for your body grape seed oil, pure coconut oil or even just plain light blended olive oil. Mediterranean women swear by olive oil and use it by the bucket load. I've not tried argan oil myself yet but hear good reports.

You can add essential oils to the carrier oil both for fragrance and their therapeutic qualities. If you Google you will find lots of ideas and recipes.

If you struggle I will help you when I get back from my holiday.

You might want to look at your soap powders and detergents that you use. I can't use biological detergents.

Dont forget that stress will aggravate both psorasis and excema but especially psorasis so do what you can to reduce harmful stress.

Of course healthy eating will also help so as you are trying to lose weight your diet will probably a nice healthy one now.

Also it might be worth taking some supplements. Evening primrose oil or starflower oil are both excellent for the skin. A couple of Brazil nuts a day will improve your selenium levels too.

Anyway must dash. The cases won't pack themselves......

Wow LL - THANK YOU for taking the time to type all of that out - I'm totally going to print it for future reference. I've been using a 1% Hydrocortisone cream on some stubborn patches on my chest (how attractive eh?) and it is working albeit slowly. I was planning on carrying on with that until the patches had gone then trying to keep them at bay with a decent moisturiser. I saw a recommendation on Instagram for Lush Dream Cream for psoriasis, but when I went in and asked about it the lady said that was for eczema and I needed Charity Pot. So I bought that and have been using it as an addition to the Hydrocortisone but am not seeing much of a difference and I find it really heavy and greasy on my skin. I'm going back into town tomorrow so I might get myself some Dream Cream to try.

Anyway, sorry I'm rambling on and you probably won't even see it as you're off on hols. Enjoy - Barcelona is my absolute favourite place in the world! x

My oldest DD battles excema and skin conditions. To make things worse she is a ballet/dance teacher, getting hot and sweaty everyday, and also part of a bollywood dance troupe that performs several times a week and has to wear heavy make up. She has now figured out a system if she sticks to it she is fine.

She only uses 'surcare' detergent and fabric softner for babies, for basically anything that touches her skin.
All her make up and skincare she buys from boots own # 7, hypoallergenic and demagogically tested.
Occasionally when she does get a flare up, so she immediately reverts to only using pure coconut oil or almond oil on her skin for both make up removal and moisturizing and has to avoid anything with mineral oil in, check labels - its in everything, even stuff marketed for sensitive skin AKA petroleum liquidum . She has also used oats in her bath water - fill a clean thin sock with a few tablespoons of oats, tie a knot and toss into your bathwater - very soothing.
Ask the Lush staff for a sample. If you explain you have sensitive skin, they should understand. We did, I can't remember which one DD tried, one was fine and very soothing - one made things worse - just because something is natural does not mean your skin might not react to it when already irritated.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!
