On holiday in beautiful Cotswolds, visited two arboretum in four days, wonderful, but pretty much walked myself to a stand still! Lazy morning, lie in and then a mini facial and manicure. Dear dog is snoozing alongside me while I read diaries snuggled up under my duvet:j Have a great weekend lovely fabbers.

Good morning everyone! What a lovely few days it's been, I love the sunshine! Really need to update my summer wardrobe though, some of my clothes are ancient or just don't fit well. Sadly, funds will not stretch to new clothes right now, but I'll have a sort out of what I have and see what I can come up with!

I live in a small city where you do see the same faces all the time, which can be nice but sometimes a bit claustrophobic! Ive made some good friends in the last year or so, through putting myself out there, joining things and making an effort. I used to wait for an invitation, now I'll ask if I can go along, or invite someone to do something. Like indie says, I'm happy doing things on my own as well :)

Well I've been busy this week, had a job interview yesterday (first one in 15 years!), not sure how it went but it's all experience, and it wasn't too taumatising! I've got a few weeks temp work lined up and the possibility of some bar work so things are looking up.

Also found out yesterday I've been accepted on the Masters course I've been hoping for :)

Managed to sort out a car (ancient but functional, and cheap) so in two weeks I'll be mobile. I live a few miles out fo the city in the commuter belt so public transport is infrequent and often unreliable. Now I'll be able to get about a bit more.

Phew, it seems like nothing happens for ages and then it all changes at once!

    Thanks chanie:)
Maddiemay sounds heavenly:) I love the Cotswolds; enjoy the rest of your stay.
Beluga great that things are picking up - long may it continue. Good luck with the Masters - fab news:) hopefully if you've got some temp work sorted, you might be able to put a small amount of money towards some capsule pieces for a summer wardrobe - I know several fabbers have found some great bargains in charity shops - do you have any good ones in your village?
Jumper weather here again today unfortunately - although I do have more nice jumpers than short sleeve tops and tee shirts! I'm going to have to find some summer tops and trousers very soon.
I've booked a pedicure for next week; I want to get properly sandal ready - I've never had a pedi before as I'm a bit funny about people touching my feet!!
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    maddie your holiday sounds amazing.
beluga good luck with your interview. Once you've done a couple, they do become easier (and you realise they ask you the same questions!!!)
ellsbell try footner for your feet. They are these plastic socks which you soak your feet in and after a week, your feet peel, leaving lovely soft skin. It's sold in Boots - it's quite expensive at £15, but I got a fake version from Amazon.

We had a trip to the zoo today. I'd bought some tickets last year, but the weather turned, so we decided to wait for better weather. I dressed for comfort, but wore my leopard print trainers, which are quite snazzy. I also took my mini handbag, which I bought in Spain last year. I was ted a small cross body bag I could use on trips with the children. It's leather, but the style is different to anything you'd find in the UK. I've had some nice comments about it.

We are back home and I'm exhausted.

Today was a lovely day and I wore a grey t-shirt dress to enjoy the sun.

I also did a coconut oil hair mask - I used to do them years ago when olive oil was the fashionable oil that everyone was raving about, but forgot about them. I think someone mentioned them up-thread, so I thought I'd do one and I'm pleased I did, as my hair is lovely and smooth.

I've just ordered some wedge sandals for the summer. Having already spent my monthly budget, I was waiting for payday, as I was going to put the money away until there was an offer. I checked the website today and my size is selling out so I couldn't wait, and so placed the order. I've been looking for new sandals for a while now and these are what I'm looking for - there isn't anything else similar. Still, at least I can get cashback!!!
  • Thank you for the reminder about the coconut oil chanie, I'm going to order some in the hope of rescuing my hair….. it's really thick and the Brazilian blow dry is the only way I've found of taming it properly. I'm actually getting it done again in a few weeks' time and looking forward to having nice hair for summer, it's amazing how much difference it makes to my wellbeing! I saw a deal for a local salon on Groupon and rang them up to see if they'd cut my hair at the same time; they are for an extra £10 which is great, and said not to bother getting the Groupon voucher, they'd honour it anyway - very pleased with that, will go back if they are good.

For those ladies who don't like/ use make up, can I recommend Bourjois Healthy Balance? It's in a powder compact and you just swoosh it over your face (I use a big brush), it just makes you look healthier and balances out the colour/ tone of your face. I use Maybelline primer before and definitely look better for using both. Maybe I need all the help I can get due to lack of sleep?!

Trying to look after myself again this week, last week was full of arguments with OH but we seem to be ok again now, had a lovely day out yesterday. He's away for a long weekend starting Friday, I'm planning lots of nice things to do with the boys - they are 7 months old now and easier to take to places!

Hello Ladies, I am happy to report that I have now lost exactly 2 stones in weight! :j

:T congratulations. It's great when we hit those little milestones.:)

Thanks for the tip on the Bourjois powder ruby. I do wear make up but until I get some natural colour in the sun I definitely need something to give me a healthy glow especially for daytime.

Would you post a link to the wedges chanie, please? I do have one pair but I'm thinking I might like another as I've got used to wearing heels and could do with something for the summer.

Lots going on in your life at the moment beluga, thanks for posting. And you've certainly chosen the right time to go on holiday Maddie. The weather's been excellent.

I've been buying a few more holiday bits. I've got a lovely, pale grey silk maxi skirt which was a sale bargain at £35. Today I got a few bits from Asda's George to try and I only went in for yogurt!:D I brought home an orange linen/cotton mix short dress, a white v neck vest with a swing shape and a pale blue floaty camisole. I'll try them on at my leisure but I think they're keepers.

I had my hair cut and highlighted today. I'm very pleased with it. It was looking very fair so I've had some more caramel bits put in.

Still gorgeous weather here. Hope the sun's shining on you all.:)
