Ellsbel maybe recreating some structure would help, like a timetable for the day / week. I found when I had a month between employers two years ago that I got more done when I planned the days, and although I didn't miss the job I too missed the pattern of a working week.

LL I'm with you on operation me.

I'm fed up with my weight now and ant to look good for my summer holiday. Today I had a rather fattening lunch today of packet noodles - there wasn't much else in the house and I didn't fancy pasta (which I had yesterday). I did however snack on fruit, plus there were no other snacks.

    Plan
I hope this doesn't sound like an excuse, but I we don't have enough healthy stuff in the house until the weekend. In the meantime I will:

Snack only on fruit and veg

Do what I can in terms of food until the weekend.

Read my Weightwatchers info on Friday (my day off)

Buy some new scales on pay day (mine aren't working - I suspect childsplay is involved).

    Forgot to add...

ellsbell I love your suggestion of saving the WE subscription money for treats, it sounds like a great incentive to stay on track.

That's a good point Floss - it's easy to prevaricate when you haven't got deadlines, so listing things to do as a timetable could help a bit:)
Thanks Chanie:) I'm thinking I could use the weigh in money I save for some duty free perfume when I go to Rome; I'll feel like I've "earned" it then :)
I'm off to shower and moisturise in a bit, a quick tidy round and some washing in before I go for a walk. I've downloaded the my fitness pal app to use as a food diary and been browsing some online stores for ideas on how I'd like to dress if I shift the pounds - it's motivated me to have another good day so I think I'll make a habit of doing that.
Having caught the odd glimpse of sunshine in the last couple of days, I want to treat myself to some Ray-bans; I must have a look to see if they are on a deal anywhere.
LL have you ever tried rosehip oil as a moisturiser? I haven't used it but am thinking of trying as a facial oil at night when the bio oil runs out as I've heard good things about it.

    My fitness pal app

Last night, I got this app as a way to facilitate Operation Me

You enter your height/weight etc and it works out how many calories you can eat to loose weight. I need 1,200 as I'm 5ft. I entered my food yesterday and I ate 1,350 - I thought yesterday was pretty light day, so its a no wonder my eating is out of control.

I will still re-read my WW stuff to get some inspiration for food, but I'll use the app to record my progress. This week is going to be a struggle as I have two weddings this weekend, plus we need to do a food shop, so I'll use the opportunity to record my food intake to see where I'm going wrong and start properly next week.

I'm going to borrow Ellsbell idea of saving the money I would have spent on Weightwatchers for extra treats. I have done WW in the past and it has worked, but for some reason, its feels like a faff and uninspiring. I may switch to WW style diet once I've got my weightloss in hand, but for now I'll count calories as it 'feels' a bit easier as I only have to focus on one lot of numbers if that makes sense.

    Good morning lovely ladies.

Well I've had to change my plans. I was booked for Physio but have had to cancel. I had a shocking night, awake till nearly 6 and now I feel terrible, my neck glands are swollen and I just feel so fragile. I feel like I would break if someone were to start pummelling me. :rotfl:

Today is the one year anniversay of mum's death and I guess that is what is affecting me. I didn't think it would hit so badly - just goes to show I am still not as strong as I thought I was.

I also did a load of shopping yesterday as well as taking all those bags to the Chazzer. I think I have just overdone it.

Never mind I will just take it very easy. The sun is shining and the wind has dropped. I might be able to just sit out in the garden and grab a few Rays of sunshine if it warms up enough. Need to do a bit of paperwork at some point too.

And I will definitely try a few yoga stretches once I get going, a walk out in the fresh air and if I'm up to it a few minutes on my elliptical trainer that I bought and which has just sat idle.:o

Ellsbell. - rose hip oil. I used to use a fabulous rose hip gel. I'd forgotten all about that, so thanks for the reminder.

I did some thinking yesterday about my plan for Massive Action.

I think it is a bit like debt busting........when we get our LB moment we immediately make lots of sweeping changes to get fast results and beak the cycle of debt. Well I think that's what I need to do.

I have had my LB moment with the blood test results. They were my wake up call. Losing weight and getting fitter is no longer just a vanity project (not that it ever was - there was always an element of wanting to improve health and well being). However now I really want to focus on health and hopefully longevity.

I most definitely want to avoid life limiting illnesses.

Although I had planned to try the 5:2 this week I don't think I could manage it. I dont think I can just plunge in. I think I need to prepare my body first. So my plan is a severe carb restriction, the only carbs allowed will be vegetables and a bit of fruit. I made a start yesterday.

I think if I do this for a week and clear all carbs from my system it will be easier to start the 5:2 plan - hopefully I won't get so many cravings that way.

So for now it's hardcore Paleo.;)

Chanie. Just do what you can with what you have. Don't starve yourself and make my yourself ill. A few days of eating up what's left until you get chance to buy more food won't make that much difference.

Yesterday, whilst shopping in aldi, I overheard two young women talking about money. One of them commented that this shop would take her Into her overdraft. Poor girl.......I can relate. I have been in that position, it's horrible.

I thank my lucky stars those days are over. I'm not rich but At least I'm not in the red these days.

Chanie - I use my fitbit app to manage weightloss as it adjust the intake allowed based on the exercise you are taking. To achieve my goal weight by May I need a deficit of 1000 calories a day. So if I don't move much, I can't eat much... if I move a lot I can eat a lot! Just sticking to a calorie target when it isn't accounting for exercise isn't always a good idea. But recording the data is, so you get an idea of how much you are really eating! Lots of veg is the way to go to fill yourself up.

My weight loss is still going OK, although not as dramatic as week one (unsurprising given that I was out on a hen do over the weekend). I seem to have about 3 days under calorie target each week, 2 days on target and 2 days over.

I've been to the GP today and am booked in for blood tests (ferritin) and a check on my breathing. I've also got something for the reflux as we're trying to get to the bottom of intermittent shortness of breath, dry coughing when running/at bedtime and occasional choking on food (helpfully this includes stuff like blended soup). Hopefully it's the reflux causing them. IN which case we need to get to the bottom of that (could well be iron levels again).

Greenbee I think you can include exercise on the app, although I haven't looked at that yet. The I don't exercise much, so I don't think there will be much to add!!!

You'd be surprised... I've recently changed my setting from 'personalised' (where calorie allowance is set at the beginning of the day based on previous activity levels) to 'sedentary' where it assumes you will do nothing. This is because I run 3 times a week, so the allowance on non-running days was too high and I had to make up steps at the end of the day to avoid going over my limit! Now I start low and 'earn' my meals. A short walk can earn you a surprising number of calories! Then again, if I don't move at all I'm stuck on about 500 calories for the day...

That's useful to know. I walk about 2 miles most days, but haven't really had much chance to play around with the app yet - although I'm about to have a sneaky log on at work.
