Thanks *chanie* - funnily enough I dug out an old yoga DVD yesterday meaning to use it today; I will try and make some time for it tomorrow.
Will you follow a diet plan, or just cut down and up the exercise? I've eaten quite well today, choosing healthy options but I think long term I need to find the plan that works for me and stick to it; I think I need that discipline!0 -
I think I'll follow a diet plan. I've got some Weight watchers books, although I haven't re-read them yet.
I need discipline too!!!0 -
Good luck with it! I've got my old ww stuff too - going to meetings works best for me but I think I'll see how I get on in the next couple of weeks doing it at home; if I slide off the wagon then I'll force myself to go and sign up, if I stick to it, I might "pay" myself to weigh in each week - i.e: put the money in a jar and when I lose a decent amount, treat myself to a new perfume or something from the proceeds:)0

Good Morning Fabbers
What do I mean "operation me"......
Well exactly this
Today I have realised that it is just two months until THE NUPTUALS and I am no way near prepared:eek:
I am still nowhere near my target weight and I have a LOT of fabbing to do!!!!
SO Chanie and Ellsbel - and anyone else who needs a boot up the derrière - You're On!!!!!
Now I am sorry if this post is a bit heavy on the exclamation marks and capitals but it's time to get down to business and GET SERIOUS.
The decks are cleared ready for action........I have moved my dad, done his paperwork, I have kondoed the house to within an inch of its life so now its MY TURN.
Feel free to join in but for me it's now time for FAB BOOT CAMP.....:rotfl:
Today I will be dropping off all the bags and boxes to the chazza, I need to go to the bank and call in at the post office to pick up passport forms and then swoop by Aldis for a stock up for masses of healthy fruit, veg, salads and stuff.
I have done my to do list.......it's a very long one.:rotfl:
Today I start an intensive skin care regime and I have booked Physio for tomorrow.
It begins.0 -
*LL* I'm with you. I've a trip to Rome in a few months time and I want to be a dress size down by then. I've weighed myself this morning and it was horrific but I'm determined that the numbers are going to start coming down. Lots of other things I'm going to get strict with myself about too; there are some things I can't do much about, sadly, but I can start taking charge of me, my health and appearance and it's time I started doing so.
Here's to "operation us"0 -
Ok I have had a good fabbing session, deep cleansing face mask and have started using my new dermologica moisturiser. Face feels better already.
I have slathered the rest of my body in bio oil. I'm afraid lotions and creams just are t enough for my parched skin, so oils it is. When the bio oil runs out I shall make my own body oil. I have a box full of essential oils and the grape seed oil I use as a carrier oil is cheap as chips. And of course no SLS or nasty chemicals to irritate my skin.
My shins are particularly bad, very sore and itchy. I've a nasty feeling this is linked to my pre diabetes because mum had the same problem.
Hopefully if I can get my blood sugars down then my skin will improve.....I have already noticed that my skin doesn't heal as quickly as it used to......another Symptom of diabetes. And having seen skin ulcers I am determined that this is NOT going to happen to me.
Ellsbel - glad you are joining me......I need a buddy to kick my derrière every so often......:D
Like you I have just weighed myself. Oddly enough my weight as stayed the same not increased. However, the bad news is I also took my measurements and I have gained another 2 inches on my waist,
Now this is very bad news because it takes me well Into the danger zone.
Belly fat is the worst kind of fat because it means I am laying down visceral fat.......the fat that lodges itself around the internal organs and putting my liver at risk.
This stops RIGHT NOW because the alarm bells are now deafening.
I have a Drs appt next week for all my test results but I think I can pretty much guess the tone of the conversation.. However I refuse to take statins and diabetic meds at this stage.
I will do this by diet and lifestyle changes.
As Tony Robbins, the US money and lifestyle guru would advise., - It's time to take MASSIVE ACTION.
Right just a quick flick round the kitchen and then off to run my errands. I shall plan my campaign whilst I am at it.0 -
I'm in too. Need to really up the investment in myself but long dark nights have sapped my motivation so with the lighter nights and brighter days comes the awareness that the house windows are filthy and the mirrors are telling the whole horrific truth. Operation Massive Action starts here...If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Wishing you success ladies. I will tag along on a different tack if I may, no weight loss needed, the opposite in fact, but I do need to get myself sorted and improve my dietary intake of the right foods and necessary supplements to improve my health as much as I can. Blood tests done today to compare with last month's falling ones:( Omega 3's bought and a necessary vitamin for one of my deficiencies should be here on Thursday, together with some "Arthritis gloves" to help with painful hands, so a start has been made. Meal plans and food lists to do after some studying of my nutrition books. My skin is terribly dry too, on the underside of my arms it is all wrinkly and horrid where I have lost fat and muscle tone, need to use the weights on a more regular basis and perhaps the Omegas will help too.
Two weeks to family wedding, but not stressing about it now, only the reception to attend, and have enough nice clothes to find something suitable from. (Bride has been very poorly for a quite a while, but on the up now, so they settled for a very small ceremony, to help keep the stress levels and the costs down, and a bigger, but budget friendly lunch reception - so good to see people being sensible, none of this paying off the wedding on credit cards for the next ??? years:D_)
Onward and upwards ladies (or downwards where the bathroom scales are concerned for you all):D
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
I'm a bit conscious of "wasting time" - probably because of what's happening; I seem to intend to do a lot of things but never actually do them - lack of confidence, household chores that need doing!! Not wanting to leave the dog alone for too long - just some of the reasons I find to stay in my shell, and all of which can probably be got around. I need to make a plan of action like you, *LL* and stick to it!
The more I get "out there", the more fabbing will become a habit.
I was wondering ellsbel, do you miss your job? Not necessarily the job itself but the structure and purpose working gives to a day. I only work part time these days but giving up my full time job (even though, like you, it was from choice) took a great deal of getting used to. Just a thought.:)I think I'll follow a diet plan.
I need discipline too!!!
As you'd expect I can only recommend Slimming World. If you aren't sure take a look at the sample 7 day menu on line and perhaps give it a try.
Washed and styled my hair for the first time since the cut and I'm pleased with it. It's a bit shorter than usual but I'll get used to that.
My other success has been applying foundation/tinted moisturiser with a brush and I'm delighted with the results. It gives such a light covering, I'm delighted. Why ever didn't I try this before!:o
In between dealing with some frustrating (work) emails and general paperwork I've taken advantage of the lovely weather to get some laundry done. Then I sat for a while this afternoon and did a little bit of sewing, very restful and therapeutic.
We're off to London for the day tomorrow. We're planning the Wallace collection during the day (not been there since refurbishment), some general wandering and eating and then in the evening we're meeting friends to see Adele at the O2. I'm not really a fan but it'll be a new experience.
Have decided on black jeans and a short jacket for tomorrow and definitely flat shoes or boots as we plan to do lots of walking. Not sure about what to wear underneath but probably purple jumper and a scarf so I can look OK in a restaurant.0 -
ooh, maman, what a perfect day you've got lined up! Have fun; the outfit sounds perfect
I do absolutely miss the "having a job" bit, yes! I knew I would because for the first time in ages I felt like I had a purpose - a reason to get smartly dressed each day, etc., it's just the actual job was beyond awful - I was the sixth person to leave the office that month when I went! But yes you're absolutely right about that structure to it being missed!
Maddie - hope your supplements kick in soon. Was it you that recommended eyeq's? I've begun taking them this week so hope to feel some benefit in a few weeks
I'm pleased with my eating plan today and have kept active - even did a little yoga. If it's not too cold tomorrow I'm going to pick up my walking plan again, which brought me good results in the past.
Good luck alli-t and welcome to boot camp!:D0
