Horrid day here too: grey and very blowy with rain promised for later:(.

I'm loving all the ideas for a City break PQ. I'm lucky enough to have been to most of them except the Eastern European ones which are on my 'to do' list. I suppose it depends on how you like to spend your time as to which will suit best. DH and I aren't fussed about clubs or even shopping so what suits us is plenty to see both indoors and outdoors (so galleries and museums but architecture and parks/gardens too) and then bars and restaurants. I'd certainly look at Salzburg because you might get a cheap flight as it's getting to the end of the ski season.

Is the builder doing work on the new apartment LL?

Hope you're feeling good ellsbel now that work is behind you although you might miss being part of the workforce.

I've got a hair appointment later. Only a cut and blow dry which will probably be wrecked as I've then got to go to football in the horrid weather! The idea is to have it cut now so it's manageable for my niece's wedding in 3 weeks time.

So while potentially I could look fab with my hair professionally done it'll all be hidden under thick jumpers and the hood of my parka.;)

I am going to try to get my hair cut next week and have just ordered four designer tops in the D****nh**s sale and got £160 worth for £100. They are a size down from where I am now and I am determined they will fit me nicely by Spring. I have smart trousers in the wardrobe I need to lose a bit more to fit into.
The tops are all in colours rather than the black, black and white and greys I have been used to wearing.

It looks as if I might be moving house in two weeks so feeling a bit flummoxed.

  • Hi fabbers

I'm really enjoying reading all your updates, especially the travel plans and craft projects.

I haven't posted for a while, mixed progress here. Haven't made any effort to dress well or do hair/makeup, haven't had any reason to. My diet has been terrible, a lot of comfort eating. I have been plodding away with the couch 25k though and was so proud when I ran for ten minutes without stopping yesterday! I've settled into a routine of doing that 2/3 times a week and one yoga class. I would like to increase this in a few months to more exercise but I need to be realistic and build good habits. I am definitely a bit fitter than I was four weeks ago so it's a start.

Happy Saturday Fabbers, I just keep on thinking of things to add to my list, shiny shoes & polish my glasses. Can't manage without my glasses but they've always got smudges on them.

I had a lovely catch up with an old friend last night which was much needed so today I am feeling relaxed and refocussed on what I want to achieve over the next few months.

Unpleasant weather here too so we are having a house day and I have a spot of pampering panned for later. No gym today as I am conscious of factoring in some days off, however I am going to go tomorrow.

    Hi all:)
I really fancy a city break now! I'm thinking of a trip to Rome soon, which I loved when we visited before, but I loved Barcelona and Florence also, and Berlin and Vienna are just two of many places I'd love to visit.
Have been to see my in-laws this morning and put on my new favourite casual outfit of skinny jeans and a long, grey cowl neck jumper. I remembered to sort out some accessories too - and make up and perfume!
I'm planning on joining a gym next week - and to use it at least 3 times a week!
Had a nice send off yesterday and will miss some of my colleagues, and, as you say *maman*, being part of the workforce, but I do feel relieved too; that particular job just wasn't for me!
Horrible, blustery day here so now that we're back home I don't plan to venture out again.
Lots of tea, a bit of reading and a healthy stir fry later whilst watching a movie on TV I think!

Stay safe and warm everyone x

Really early start for me today, no time to do my eyes before I left for work & guess what I'm really missing them being done & I've never worn daily make up for years. I've decided I'm going to try contact lenses too.
    Have a fab day everyone

Good for you!! Perhaps instead of trying too many things at once you should go for one at a time and gradually build it up. So you're firmly fixed on the running, maybe the next thing could be healthy food to back up your fitness.

I'm sure there's research on forming habits that I've read but I think the way forward is to try new things whether it's make up or tidying the house or whatever and keep at it until it becomes part of routine.

I only need mine for driving and other long distance things so I'm always taking them off and leaving them hanging around they're in my bag or pocket. They're filthy!! That'll be a new habit I start today, washing and polishing my glasses.:D

New outfits sound good elona, good on you for treating yourself. As your moving, maybe it's a good time too go through the wardrobe and send anything you don't really love to CS.

Delighted with my hair and despite my hood and the dampness yesterday it's still looking good. Today I'm wearing skinny jeans with a long oatmeal angora jumper so not too different to you ellsbel. I'm going to pop out for an hour so will do make up and put boots on.

    Back soon.:)

    Hi ladies:)
A lazy and very unfabby day for me today, and I mustn't make a habit of it, but today I'm quite content to chill out with my OH and DS2 watching footie on TV! :D
Busy day tomorrow so will make an effort tomorrow morning. I'm planning to book a hair appointment this week, too.
Hope you're all having a good day:)

    Hi fabbers,

I haven't had a chance to catch up on the thread, but I will.

I got caught out today in a rather un-fab way!!!

I put henna on my hair - for those who don't know, henna is really messy, so I wrap my hair in clingfilm and pop a wooly hat on top (the heat bring out the colour) and keep it on for hours. I wear old clothes in case the henna stains my clothes. Anyway, I ran into one of DS teachers from school. Well, she was his teacher last year. Typical, I never see anyone when I'm out normally and the one hideous day, I see someone I know.

On a slightly more productive note, I re-dyed my black jeans today. They had started to fade and I wanted them to be jet black. They seem to have turned out well, from what I can see.
