]Evening All
Its lovely to hear how everyone is getting on.
I've been fighting off a cough and cold all weekend. I've not been ill as such but could feel it at the back of my throat all the time. I seem to have thrown it off more or less now though.
I've just got back from seeing 'The Lady in the Van' and thoroughly enjoyed it. DH and I missed it when it was first out but found an early evening show tonight that we could go to so snapped up the opportunity. I wore dark blue jeans teamed with a blue and white fitted V neck top and a turquoise cropped cotton cardigan over the top. Black ankle boots and a pretty blue crystal pendant with silver earrings finished it off.
I've had a busy day and just got back to find a load of information from the solicitor to go through. I shan't do it tonight as I am off to Metafit shortly and will then be too tired to take it in. I shall go through everything in the morning but fingers crossed that all is finally starting to progress and we shall be moving at the beginning of March. I started tidying my desk this morning and then got called on by DS to help with a new work venture so everything from the pigeon holes and top of my desk is spread out over the kitchen table at the moment. My desk is an old bureau painted up in cream and very shabby chic. It lives in the kitchen at the moment but I am not sure where it will be going in the new house. Once we get a date I intend to go round with a notebook and tape measure planning where everything will be going.
Oops, just seen the time. I had better go and get changed and get off to my exercise class. I've just signed up to the Bounts programme advertised earlier this week on the site and am hoping I might be able to get my running watch to record the class to add to my points total. It is adding all my steps but I haven't managed any points for activities yet. I've already accumulated over 1,000 points since last Thursday and will be swapping them for an Amazon voucher when I've got enough.

nearly caught up with the washing... think there's only one more load of contaminated stuff to do, and then some ordinary stuff.
Have managed to end up with worse jet lag than I should have due to sleeping so long at the weekend. Couldn't get out of bed this morning - spent two hours trying to wake up enough to do it. So missed pilates - very little exercise this week and not great on eating (wotsits for supper...) but hope to improve next week.
Off to see my parents this weekend and have been reminded that we have guests and are going out, so need to finish unpacking and repack with appropriate clothing!0 -
Happy anniversary LL. I know it's kind of "sad /happy" but I wish you a lovely day
I went to Madrid last May, it was beautifully warm - and a fabulous place to visit.
OH and I are celebrating 25 years married this April and are looking for somewhere to go, Madrid is on the list (as is Barcelona, Budapest, Prague, Reykjavik, Rome, lake como (where we spent part of our honeymoon - it rained), St Petersburg, Stockholm and Copenhagen :rotfl:)
Short rant, why do shops think that we all want to wear jeggings or skinny jeans - or else we want to dress like old women? I want a pair of straight legged but well fitting trousers, probably Jean style but not jeans. And with a 31" leg. Can I find any? Can I bu88eryI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Good Morning everyone, everyone sounds so glamorous, fab ladies. I have neglected myself so much, just putting eye make up on yesterday shocked me. I picked out my least favourite colour (a bright pink, use it up mentality) & grey eyeliner, so wasn't expecting much but I now understand we people say eye make up makes their eyes pop, my eyes looked fab, a little bit lip gloss & I felt fab.
Anyways ladie's I thought I'd list my goals.
1. Face, body & hair clean & fresh. (Hair removal, eyebrows ect.)
2. Smell nice.
3. Hair cut every 4-8 weeks. (Pixie cut, silver highlights(going grey gracefully)
4. Eyes & lips done.
5. Wear clothes I like. (Unfortunately not at work, uncustomizable uniform)
6. Wear jewellery.
7. Keep going to SW.
8. 10,000 steps per day minimum.
9. Stop biting my nails.
10. Fab up my house (Housework)
Hope everyone has a fab day.0 -
Welcome on board *coppers*:) good luck with your goals; your list would make a good to do list for me too!
I agree that make up can make such a difference, I'm not getting mine quite right lately, and it's frustrating! I think I've done ok in the morning, but I pop to the loo at work and in the mirrors there I look washed out and awful!
*VJSmum* I agree with you on the trousers - I tend to stick to jeans lately but only because all the trousers I try on make me feel old due to the way they're cut!
*Maman* your hair colours sound like the kind of thing I was hoping for when I last went to the salon! It was one of those visits where you just get plonked in the chair and they do what they want with you:D
Must have been an off day for them as I've been there before and found them ok - I'll give them another chance and insist on seeing a colour chart first next time!
Thinking of you today *LL*
Hope today treats you all well x0 -
Sending you a big hug and thinking of you today LL.:AWelcome on board *coppers*:) good luck with your goals; your list would make a good to do list for me too!
That's the nice thing about the thread we can all share ideas.
You are right about the trousers VJ'smum. Like ellsbel, I've been mostly wearing jeans lately but I do have some narrow trousers that I bought in New Look of all places. The trouble is you have to 'kiss a lot of frogs' before you find the right pair.
I know what you mean about the washed out look ellsbel. I hate to look over made up so I stick to tinted moisturiser rather than foundation. It looks plenty in my bathroom but harsh lighting in shops makes me look positively ill. Try using a bit of blusher/bronzer as that can help and a bright lipstick.
That's why I love the summer so much, a bit of natural colour makes all the difference.
Have a good day all.:)0 -
Slowly getting back into the healthy eating and exercising after a couple of days off due to being unwell. Feel like I am back to square one at the gym but hopefully I will build back up faster than the first time
The exercise has had such a positive impact on my life, I am sleeping better and have more energy in general, definitely a habit I want to keep!
LL I hope you have had a relaxing dayTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Hugs for you ll for yesterday.
Coppers your list sounds great.
Well I'm venturing out of the house today and getting dressed for the first time since Saturday, this bug is awful and I've just lived in pjs, but we need food shopping and I think I might have got over the worst of it so outside here I come.
konMarie and fabbing all the way

Glad you're feeling a bit better *lolly*
Last day at work today - I'm nervous! How crazy:rotfl:
I'm not in until lunchtime and I'm feeling very very tired so I'm not dressed yet; I'll have a second coffee and some brekkie in a bit and then find something to wear and head to the shower.
I've been really unhealthy in my eating this week - getting in late means I've just gone for snacks or grazed a bit rather than having a balanced meal, so I'm looking forward to having a much better week food wise next week.
*Maman* I'm taking your advice today - bright lipstick and bronzer are at the ready!!:D0 -
Morning everyone, I felt rough this morning (late night) and I'm tied to the house today waiting for workmen, it would be so easy just to not bother today, but I've fabbed up & feel better for it. I've joined a couple of other challenges too to help with my fabbing, their in my signature.
Hope you all have a fab day.0
