    Hi everyone

Love reading what you are all wearing and about the tips for storing makeup.
I need to get myself sorted with all my beauty products as I have them in different places in the house, some in carrier bags as I have so much stuff.
I do like the idea of having some sort of unit to put them all in so I will think about it.

LL - good news on your flat but sorry you are having health issues, hope they get to the bottom of it.

I also just wear nice PJs for longing around the house but don't wear them to bed.

I was disappointed last week when I went on the scales as I had not lost any more weight even although I was careful on what I was eating. I do know I have to include some sort of exercise but I did lose the 3lb the previous week and that has stayed off.

I am still wearing BB cream and blusher everyday to work and it is still making me feel better about myself.

I can't believe January is over as it was such a quick month but I am counting down the months as I retire in May and I am so looking forward to it.

    Bye for now.

LL I tried lots of alternative products before realising that Estee Lauder was the range that consistently worked with my skin and I have just stuck with that for the last few years.

Been a bit under the weather so the exercising has taken a back seat although I am hoping to get back into the routine again this week. A few less than healthy foods have also made an appearance and if I am completely honest I really didn't enjoy them so I am going to continue with the changes that I have made as they make me feel good.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

Same here on the exercise - still not quite with it enough today to run (or do much walking) but did make my Pilates class.

As for the food - after 2 weeks of wall-to-wall hotel food I'm more than happy to eat healthily (I did track down some amazing salads at the weekend when I escaped which was a relief). I was feeling so bloated and uncomfortable, with constant tummy ache despite taking fibre supplement regularly. And the trousers that were loose at the start of the trip were tight at the end. Thankfully after 48 hours at home that seems to be sorted (although I'll probably have gained weight)... despite having slept almost non-stop for 30 hours since walking through the door!

I've still got this horrible bug and it's playing havoc with my skin. I will admit I haven't been body moisturising for the last few days as I just don't have the energy but can't wait to feel better so I can give myself a good sugar and olive oil scrub and loads of moisturiser.
I'm another one with a wedding in a few months and I'm not sure whether to buy a new outfit or wear the one I got for my sisters wedding 3 years ago. I guess it will all depend on how much weight I lose between now and then as the dress I have fits just now and I do still like it but I'm hoping to have shrunk a bit between now and then.

Sorry you have a bug, *lollyfin* - hope it passes soon.
I haven't been to a wedding in years but I know that they're no longer as "dressy" as they used to be; a good thing, imo, because as you've all said, it's much better to get some use from your outfit afterwards.

*LL* - I meant to ask - where are you hoping to travel to? Hope you're feeling better.

Just finishing coffee before I shower and wash my hair. Jeans and a favourite turquoise jumper for me today with ankle boots.
I've been using tinted moisturiser lately instead of foundation, but I've not made up my mind yet if it's better or not.
I was bought some Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream recently; I tried it years ago but found it far too heavy and sticky. They seem to have changed the formula though, and I'm absolutely loving it; I think this one's a keeper!
*maman* I really like those Skechers - they look perfect for walking in. I had a pair of slip on Skechers once that were so comfy but always looked a little "clunky" on. Your ones look quite neat and smart - I'm tempted!:)
Have a good day all - hope you stay dry! x

Hotel laundry products smell vile (OK, so I use unscented eco-friendly products which makes it more obvious). I'm not used to artificial scents and perfumes and am finding now I'm home the smell of the stuff that was washed in the hotels is overpowering. And almost impossible to get out of the clothes... As it is raining and windy I can't really put stuff on the line, which is the best way to get rid of the smell, so I'm currently soaking in bicarb, washing, holding the rinse and putting way more vinegar in than normal. Then drying (gently, as heat makes the problem worse) and washing again. Until it is gone. The house stinks of some horrible artificial smell :(

Glad to hear you're back and caught up on sleep greenbee but that washing sounds horrendous. It's bad enough with any laundry at this time of the year but all that extra work!

I need a new body moisturiser. The one I'm using is heavy and sticky. It's almost empty and I won't be using it again. So I'm on the look out for a body lotion that goes on easily and ideally soaks in quite quickly. Any recommendations?

You're right ellsbel, that's why it's taken me so long to replace them. I've tried on numerous pairs but they look so awkward, even more so since I've been wearing skinny jeans. The ones with white soles looked particularly strange, made me look like Minnie Mouse!!:rotfl: While there were limited sizes available in my style, the ones with the Velcro are a new line I think so should be readily available.

I pushed myself to make a start on the cushion yesterday. I found a youtube video with instructions on mitred corners as I've never done that before and I've cut all the strips out and a back. I'll start putting it together this afternoon.

I might have said before but the piece of needlepoint (that will be set into the cushion cover) was rescued from the last of our old dining chairs. I did it years ago and it holds happy memories of when DH and I first set up home together.:)

I enjoy doing needlepoint, embroidery, sewing and knitting but I need projects where the end products would 'bring me joy'. I don't mean that my results are poor but I don't want/need a hand knitted cardi, a tray cloth or an embroidered picture of a puppy (apologies in advance to those of you who do:o). What sort of craft projects does anyone else do?

Bright and sunny here at the moment.:D

I like Faith in Nature coconut body lotion - but then I tend to stick to natural/organic brands where possible so my choice is limited.

Washing is on the line. Hope it stays there...

I don't envy you that washing, greenbee!

I love jo Malone moisturiser for special days - either Lime and Basil or Amber and Lavender.
For everyday I think the Nivea one - think it's called so soft? Is as good as any; for some reason I prefer pots or jars of lotion to tubes or bottles - easier to use I think!
I'm on my way home now - I'm shattered so there won't be any fabbing done tonight - just collapsing in front of the TV!

I've taken up knitting again and knitted a scarf, although I need to sew a stitch in to secure it. The problem I have with knitting is that I get bored easily and don't finish anything I make. Like maman says, the products don't bring me joy, so I don't finish them

Today, I had an off site meeting near Oxford Street and despite being a Londoner born and bred, I don't go to the West End very often, so I thought I'd take the scenic route back to work. I'd been eyeing up an expensive dress and I tried it on today, but it didn't fit my chest. It's a shame, as it did look promising, but at least I know now, I don't need to spend any more time dreaming about it. I tried on a denim skirt in another shop but the length swamped me as I'm short.

On the one hand, my purse is relived that I didn't see anything I liked, but on the other hand, is nice when you choose something that looks good.
