If it's any consolation it didn't put my DH off so hopefully you'll be OK! My father always said my mother took after her mother and I display the same traits! Yesterday DD1 told me she'd been cast in a drama role play at work as a character that was bossy, so you get the picture!!:rotfl:
Loving the funky names for those perfumes too.
I think a black skirt or trousers with a bright top is a very good look for work sugarbaby. It's balck close to the face that can be draining.
I've had a good pampering session this morning including a clay mask on my nose and chin. While Porefessional does a good job of covering open pores well I'd prefer to get them closed up a bit if I can. I used my Clarins body lotion after my shower too. It soaks in so easily compared to some but I don't think it's rih enough for regular use.
Having a pottering day today. I may nip out to a few local shops later but at the moment I'm just wearing black leggings and a flame coloured Fat Face top.
Bright and sunny here today. Have a good weekend all whatever you're planning even if it's nothing!;)0 -
I have nothing planned this weekend but am wearing my favourite outfit so am ready for anything :rotfl:
I'm laughing but it's true since I found this thread I'm not embarrassed to answer the door anymore if someone shows up unexpectedly because I know I'm not a mess!konMarie and fabbing all the way
Weight loss challenge starting 11st loss in November 4lb0 -
Hi all:)
Last week at work coming up. My first job when I'm back home full time will be to sort out my wardrobes - I'm still hanging onto far too much stuff I don't wear.
I love to read all of your posts and about the outfits you're all wearing (fleecy PJs for me at the moment as I've not been up long!)
I bought some new bathroom scales this week. I haven't stood on them yet though! I haven't weighed myself in an age, but I started to feel like maybe this was just giving myself permission to take my eye off the ball, weight wise, so I aim to weigh once a week or so to keep an eye on my progress.
Have a good day Fabbers x0 -
Not looking very fab today, but have made a good effort all week and wearing more of my clothes rather than the same old few things:D
This morning I have been pottering around the house, looked out toiletries to use next month and setting myself little house keeping challenges such as deal with x pieces of paper, return x items from where they are lurking to their proper homes, keeping the washing in it's various stages from dirty to aired and put away up to scratch, all contributing to me feeling a teeny bit more positive. Had a light lunch and now to get wrapped up in warm, gear and go for a walk with OH and dear dog, may try to find somewhere for a cuppa and cake as well:D:D
Lipstick and perfume will be worn! The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

My mum has suffered from depression on and off since her twenties and she's something of a glass half empty kind of person... I think she'd put most guys off when she's at her worst. In between bouts she can be ok, but she was last not depressed over three years ago so I have almost forgotten what that's like.
I did my run today, made the mistake of going off a bit too fast and getting severe pains in my lower legs. Convinced myself to run through it and eventually surprised myself by only ending up 41 seconds slower than my last 10k. Of course now I am cross that I didn't eek out a bit of extra pace and beat it, especially as both my friends did. But last Sunday I had to stop running and walk after just 1.5k with leg pain, so I should really just be proud of myself for running through it and getting such a close time to my previous.
We are thinking of doing another one in Bristol in May (one of the girls lives there on weekends) so that would give me enough time to get better without it bein so much time I make the mistake of thinking I can slack off in the meantime and have to start again! Am sure running training will help get me fit for my March hiking trip to the Canaries too.0 -
Hello lovely ladies......
Loving the chat and reading your progress.
Well that's January just about done and dusted. I have to confess I'm always glad to see the back of it. February is a nice short month and then before we know it it is Spring. Already we can see the days are getting a lot longer.
I always liked February, our wedding anniversary on the 4th, Valentine's day in the 14th, half term and then preparing for OHs birthday on 2nd March.
The wedding anniversary is on Thursday, flowers will be bought and a nice lunch somewhere with DS2 who is off work next week. DS1 and the lovely M go to Barcelona tomorrow to see her tutors re her PHD. A fitting for her wedding dress and finalise the Barcelona celebrations.
My Goals for February.
1. Ty and lose some weight, stayed the same this week.
2. decluttering Round 2
3. Sort out photos
Still having tummy problems. Bowel cancer test came back negative. GP Still wants me to have more tests I know she's looking for stomach cancer. I think she's barking up the wrong tree.
I may not like her much but at least she is thorough.......:rotfl:
Just about to work through the solicitors pack so I can get that sent back to tomorrow. All systems go........
Re moving in.........I don't think I will be moving in. I'm thinking I will stay with DS2 for a while yet and let the flat out till I'm ready to move in properly.
The thinking is that I may go travelling next year - a sort of senior gap year......:rotfl: so not much point taking up residence yet. I can use DS2s house as a base and get some Income from the flat to help fund my travels.
Senior gap year.......not sure where yet but one thing is for sure, it won't be back packing or camping. :rotfl: I need my creature comforts!!
Ps. I look in the mirror and I see my mum looking back at me. And for years I have found myself using the same phrases and sayings.
Loads of people tell me that I am like my mum. I can think of no finer compliment. She was a wonderful person, much loved and admired. So if I am half the person she was I'm happy.
Actually the one I really resemble is my grandmother, my mums mother. I have the same same stubbornness and wilfulness - allegedly........
Can't see it myself - I'm all sweet reason.!!!0 -
Hi fabbers,
ll I'm jealous of your travel plans!!! Travelling is something I always wanted to do and I plan on doing so when I retire. I would say, go for it.
indie hope your leg gets better.
maddie well done with your fabbing as it sounds like you are making steady progress. It's much better to do these things slowly than burn our.
sugarbaby well done on your first week at work.
Not much new fabbing, but I've kept up with my normal routine. I want to focus on updating my work wardrobe as I normally feel such a scruff for work. I tried on a nice dress, which I discovered was a tunic, but I'm 5ft, so it looks like a dress on me.
I have 3 weddings this year so I need to get something to wear. I only need 1 outfit as the same guests won't be attending (wedding 1 is a colleague, wedding 2 is a friend and wedding 3 is in laws). I don't want to spend much though, as I probably won't wear whatever I buy much.
My focus for 2016 is to buy fewer but better quality items and I've seen a couple of bits and pieces which I have made a note of.0 -

I have a wedding (reception - as venue is too small for a large party) to attend first weekend April, close family member so need to make an effort, but not a clue what to wear. I have a lovely maxi dress if the weather is nice, but nothing to wear for a cold early spring day, would want it to be something that I wear again too:eek::eek:
I do have one of these dresses in this colour, also a couple of other colours which I keep for those "must look pulled together" occasions, perhaps I should investigate a jacket or wrap to wear with it.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Love that dress Maddie, very elegant. It would look perfect with a nice wrap.
I went into a shop called Quizz last week and nearly bought a fur jacket in the sale - fake of course. In the end I didn't and I regret it now. I'm going again on Thursday. If it's still there I'll get it.
I am after a maribou wrap or cape. I saw the perfect one but it was a bit expensive so will keep my eyes open. All good things come to those who wait.
I have finally given in and bought myself some dermalogica products. I have tried the ultra calming in the past and love it but i noticed they do a range Age Smart range so I'll try it.
ive bought a
trail pack in small sizes so I'll see how I go.
Dermalogica is a bit pricey but my skin does like it and I'm fed up,wasting my money on trying alternatives. My skin is not happy at the moment so dermalogica it is......
Chanie. I'm with you on this one. From now on less is more. Fewer but better clothes and fewer but better beauty products. I'm sure it will be cheaper in the long run. ......
Ive started thinking about wedding outfits. I am determined not to panic buy. I want items that I will wear again. So many of the Mother of the Bride/Groom outfits are just not me and they are sooooo expensive.......and just too fussy.
Like Maddie I want something I will be happy to wear in "ordinary" life, not just a one off.0 -

That's not giving in LL, that's treating yourself!! If we can go for quality in clothes, why not in make up? I'm certainly pleased I went to the Benefit moisturiser. It may have cost £30 but I've had no problems with sore eyes since:).
I have an emerald green dress that's very similar to that maddie which I bought originally for a wedding. That was a September wedding and a largely indoor venue so (although I took my black pashmina with me) I didn't desperately need anything other than the dress. It's difficult to know what the weather will do in April but I'd only buy a jacket or wrap if I would use it again.
Completely agree about the usual 'mother of the bride outfits' LL. I find them completely OTT and overdressed looking and generally in colours I'd never choose. I'm going to a wedding this month but have decided that my purple lace dress and velvet coat will be fine. I just need to eat sensibly for next few weeks to make sure it fits.
Not much going on here today although out dancing later. I need some February goals particularly on the house fabbing side. I want to make a mitred cushion cover to use a piece of needlepoint. Perhaps I should start there.0
