Wow! You sound like you really attacked that dust yesterday sugarbaby. All credit to you for being conscientious but do be careful of your health.

Sounds like you got a bargain with that Tesco cleaner. To be able to clean your house for 19 months and make £10 can't be bad!

Our new computer chair arrived this morning and I'm pleased with it. We got a call from John Lewis to say they couldn't find it! As it was a discontinued line it had to come from the shop rather than the warehouse and got lost somewhere on the way so wasn't put on the van. When it was located (within the hour) they put it in a car and it came very quickly. DH likes it too which is good as I wouldn't normally buy a piece of furniture without talking to him first.

Not much happening here. I'm going to take the old chair to the tip and buy paint from B&Q while I'm there as they're out of town very close to each other. I also need to do some browsing for a headboard. I'm not prepared to pay a ridiculous price for some MDF with fabric stapled over the top, I'd rather have a wooden one. Needs some thought.

Sorry to hear about your DS ruby. It's not easy to stick to healthy eating with a sick child as there's a tendency to just grab anything. I'm trying to be super good with my eating for a few days as I was quite greedy at the weekend with too much bread and chips and ice cream when we went to the theatre. So no treats for me until Friday at the earliest.;) Good news about your blood sugar LL. That's a great motivation to eat well and lose weight but it's the vanity that motivates me most.:o
  • Good news about Tesco refunding you some money sugarbaby - it all helps towards the cost of Christmas! - and I hope your workload is manageable again soon; it sounds like you worked much harder than you should have had to, the other cleaner obviously got by with the bare minimum.

Great service from John Lewis there maman, their stuff's usually good, extra useful to get a bargain!

The GP wasn't sure what was wrong with DS1 and had to report him to Public Health East of England in case it was measles  neither he or the health visitor was sure, as the rash doesn't look like a typical measles rash, but he has other typical measles symptoms. And it's been so many years since they saw a case of measles that they had nothing to compare him to! DS1 is absolutely fine and bouncing around, but I have to keep him away from other children for a couple of days in case he's infectious.

As you can imagine, I haven't been getting much sleep, and combined with eating rubbish convenience food I am just feeling fat and knackered :(

Off to Waitrose soon to see if I can find a nice moisturiser to cheer myself up with - I don't go to Waitrose often so even that will cheer me up! - hope everyone else is having a good day!
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j
  • Hello Ladies,

I am feeling tired and aching all over, but I took painkillers so I will feel better soon. My body has got unused to the hard physical graft of my job and it does not help that I was ill for more than a week. I will be completely well soon, but for now the cyst is still a bit painful and itchy.

I am chuffed to bits that once again I have received excellent customer service from Tesco.

I treated myself to a few items of winter weight clothing from eBay, as when winter arrives I want to be appropriately dressed and not feel the cold without having to wear layers.

I do my cleaning work to a very high standard, but I always make sure I take care of my own needs at the same time. Every working day is different and there are always unexpected moments that make me smile.
  • Fab Friday -Enjoy.

Off to Chatsworth. I am being chauffered so I can just sit back and enjoy the ride.

    Cold but bright and sunny.

Grey wool trousers, grey sweater and my new bright red coat. Should keep me nice and cosy.

    Have a great day.

sugar pleased you feel well enough to go back to work

    ll enjoy Chatsworth

Hope you're having a lovely day LL. I am really envious. Your outfit sounds just right for a winter day out.

Sounds like you're looking after yourself chanie. I'm impressed with fabbing.

Indeed it is!:) All the boring prep is done and it's starting to take shape. It's not a big room but as so many things have to be left to dry before the next stage it drags it out. DH has painted the walls and ceiling and now he's on to woodwork (skirtings, picture rails and windows). I made a start on wardrobe doors this morning. I find it easiest to take them off and paint them flat on table in conservatory. I've given one coat to 6 of them (there are 12:6 large and 6 small) this morning so that'll be work in progress over the next few days.

I hope you get a good night's sleep in your new bed.:D

At the moment I'm still wearing leggings and an old cardi from painting but will get fabbed up to go out later and may call into the carpet shop.

Disappointed yesterday that I had gained a couple of pounds since I weighed a month ago. I worked it out that we'd eaten out 8 times:eek: and I love chips far too much! Will be taking a lot of care on my meal plan for this week.

Really pleased that my nails are looking good. I'm not sure whether it is the Barry M mani stuff but last time I had a rest from shellac they took an age to grow and looked very dry. I'm going to give myself a manicure later, put a fresh treatment on and a clear topcoat. I'll also be cutting them down a bit as they've grown well in a week. I've also been good putting cuticle oil every day.

Bright but chilly here. I think I'll be wearing my parka, boots and a big scarf when I go out.:D

New bed is fab thanks. It's memory foam, so it feels different, but it's comfy. We want to get some new bedding, but agreed to wait until after Xmas.

Our bed has 4 drawers, so me and OH have one each and I've put towels and bed linen in the other drawers, freeing up space in our old storage unit.

I popped into town and bought the voiles, which I've put up. The old ones were my Mums old ones and were too short, quite embarrassing really. I'd gotten so used to seeing them, that I stopped noticing them!!!

maman well done on your bedroom progress!!!

Whilst in town, I had a squirt of perfume and tried some clarins lip oil, which I've been eyeing up. It will definitely go on my wish list. I also bought some foldable ballet slippers from Next. An impulse purchase, but I thought they come in handy (at some point!!!!).
  • Hello Ladies,

I am so glad that it is the weekend. It was a hard week for me at work, because I was not really feeling well enough, but needed to be earning again. By Friday I was feeling so much better. I am about 90% there. The cyst on my back is still weeping a little when I am working, but is healing. The small open wound has now closed up.

My daughter is taking me to see a play at the Battersea Arts Centre this afternoon and another play next Saturday. I am looking forward to both. We are going to an upmarket Indian restaurant tomorrow. Another Groupon bargain.

    Good afternoon ladies,
Just popping to say hello :hello:

Sugar, sorry if I am stating the obvious, but have you mentioned to your dr about your excessive perspiration? Hormones maybe? I'm pleased to hear you have turned the corner to recovery. Enjoy the plays.
    Twinnie, how was Chatsworth?

Ruby, I hope you ds is feeling better?

Chanie, I would like to get a memory foam mattress, but I have read that it can be very hot, what do you think?

Maman, how is the bedroom coming along?

A beautiful day here so I have washed all the pets bedding, just need to give the dog a bath.

    Have a good weekend.

Our bed is nice and I haven't felt hot on the mattress, but then it's practically winter, so the warmth is welcome. I can see why people don't like the mistresses thought, the do feel different , as they don't bounce. We tried a firmer memory mattress in the shop which was far too firm and didn't 'give' - I'm a fidgeter and sleep on my side sometimes. The one we have is a medium.
