Poor you, LL. I remember having physio for my whiplash and it was so painful. My physio told me that all of blood vessels in my muscles had burst and its the dried blood that causes the stiffness and he was massaging my neck to loosen it all up. Or something similar. I hope you feel better soon.
I've been thinking about my birthday and a dilemma. I normally have a 'me' day, which involves shopping, lunch and a beauty treatment - it's probably the only proper day I get to myself every year, so I do value it. Dd starts school on my birthday, so it's now 'her' big day. DD will be on short hours that week, so I won't be able to go far and OH will also be off work, so I'm not sure how to spend the day. I'm not precious about my birthday, but I like the opportunity to do something I don't get the opportunity to otherwise do.0 -
Good evening ladies
Well Jacci, like me you have taken the first step to fabdom. It may not be easy but we will get there. It's when I am tired (I have bouts of insomnia)that I tend to make do with my eating, when that happens I just adjust the next day instead of thinking I have broken the cycle.Nothing is set in stone, but one has to be honest with ones self. Example: I was so bl**dy hot today I has a Mcflurry...with m&m's. Onward and upwards.lessonlearned wrote: »Good morning lovely ladies.
Had to smile Twinnie at your forgetting your husbands birthday. Hope you don't have to spend too long in the doghouse......I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. Hopefully fabbing will get you back on track and help you feel better soon.
Twinnie,I have no serious health issue's...yet. The knee's,hips and heart will all suffer if I do not lose weight, my doctor is very blunt but fair.
I hope you can get through your physio sessions, maybe the old adage " it will get worse before it gets better" can be your mantra, sorry!
I have finished grovelling to my OH..and put the date in my reminders :rotfl: I'm lucky he is so easy going:)
Maman, has your cough eased, thank goodness for tena's;) Are the crops being harvested near you, that can sometimes aggravate matters?
I think my eyeballs have melted in today's heat :rotfl:
The A/C in the car decided to go on strike as we set off for the airport. Driving with the windows down we all arrived looking like we had been pulled through a hedge backwards:eek:
I want to have my hair cut, but cannot decide on a style. All the styles I look at online are gorgeous but I cannot decide.
I went from long dark brown (from a bottle) to white (LL calls it silver)in two years. The cut I chose was shoulder length but I was having a little more taken off each time for easier management. In my current passport I look like a man :mad:I have to live with that for another eight years Fast forward two years and I now have long white hair :rotfl:
I like the style of the third one down, the colour is the same as mine. What do you think?

Goodnight ladies.

Good morning ladies.
Twinnie. Love that hairstyle. Very chic but I also love the length, it's very feminine. I would love to grow mine but it's so baby fine, and I think that style needs thicker hair than mine.
Having said that. I took Mamans advice and I bought a new styler, one with a built in brush. I am still experimenting but it definitely makes my hair look thicker and gives more body. So thanks for that. I am also going to try some styling mousse too.
No sure about today yet. Need to stay in for a parcel delivery so will just catch up with some admin and do some Kitchen Kupboard Kondoing.
I have a new master plan.........:rotfl:
Basically less time as a couch Potato and get more active. Injuries permitting of course, will need to build up slowly. .
So essentially less junk tv and less social media. Wasting far too much time. Starting tonight I want to start "making and doing" . Hopefully engaging my brain will help me with the evening munchies too. If I'm doing something with my hands then maybe I wil stop stuffing my face with naughty "treats".
Chanie.....your birthday. How about a little family thing on the actual day, especially as it's your daughters big day, maybe a treat for her such as tea somewhere after school. I did this with the boys,
Then you can have a special "very merry unbirthday" day for yourself when things are back to normal. Book it in your diary and make a date with yourself.
Right time to start the day.......need a warm bath to loosen up then I've got my Physio homework exercises to do. Will give myself a face mask too. My spots caused by the heat have gone but I want to make sure that my skin stays clear.
I find This hot humid weather is not good for my skin, the pores get Blocked easily - a combination of perspiration, sun screen etc.
Have a great day.0 -
Hello Ladies,
When I went to Karaoke on Sunday, I wore my sleeveless v neck front and back red Kaleidoscope top and my Coast black chiffon skirt with my black Van Dal patent leather sling backs with gold cutouts. I was carrying my red Osprey red patent leather handbag. I wore black mascara, bronze eye shadow and clear lip gloss.
I had a really good time at Karaoke. I sang 3 songs.
Wayne approached me a couple of times, but I made it clear that I did not want to talk to him. I had a phone call from him on Monday and again I had to emphasise that we do not have anything to talk about, so I cut the call short after 5 minutes.
I have gained 3 pounds in weight since being on holiday from work, so I need to stop eating fatty treats and get back to healthy eating.
I went to The Imperial War Museum yesterday. It was full of really interesting exhibitions. They were very thought provoking. The Holocaust exhibition no longer makes me cry as it is less focused on graphic photos of mass graves. It has lots of individual stories from Jewish men and women who were fortunate enough to survive The Holocaust. There is a new exhibition about Bravery, which I especially enjoyed, on the 5th floor. I left the Museum when all the walking started to take it's toll and my legs began to ache. I wore a black short sleeved t shirt, a black long pull on skirt, my black leather Slazenger trainers and a pair of Primark black ankle socks. I did not wear any make up. I was really pleased when a Middle East gentleman approached me in the Museum to tell me that I looked like Michelle Obama. I thanked him for the compliment even though I do not think I look especially like her. Michelle Obama is so beautiful and glamorous.0 -
Hi all, well so far today I have been good on my eating and look smart but as I am at work I do have to! Make up on but as I said before it is a very rare day that I would leave house without it...au naturelle is not a good look for me!! Since reading this thread goodness knows how long ago I do wear perfume everyday!!
I do suffer with insomnia too Carmen but took a nerve painkiller last night and as they do cause drowsiness slept like an absolute baby...still as bit dopey today as well unfortunately! Back is killing but last time I had a slipped disc it did get better in about 6 weeks so fingers crossed this one might be quicker, especially as my oldest son is getting married on 13/8.
Have the best day all. xxx0 -
Sugarbabes - Michelle is indeed one very attractive lady, so if you look anything like her you must be lovely too.
Of course it could have just been his chat up line......:rotfl:
Actually I once read somewhere that art galleries and museums were great "pick up" places. :rotfl: Especially when standing near exhibits of nudes.......
Must be the erotic charge in the air.
Ladies.......just for fun.
What's the best, funniest, corniest chat up line you have ever received.
The most common one I got was being asked "have you ever thought of becoming a model"
The other try was to tell me I resembled some movie star or other......I have been told I resemble Elizabeth Taylor, Claudia Cardinale, Sophia Loren, Ava Gardiner, Cathy McGowan, Chrissie Hind and countless others. The only thing I could find in common is that they all had dark hair.
Needless to say my husband's was the best. His first words were. "hello wife, I think Ive had a few. It might be the beer goggles talking but I think you are gorgeous". ....what red blooded woman could possibly resist such romance. ......
I replied with "in vino veritas, I am gorgeous".
I always loved the "Dire Straights" one from one of their songs, "Romeo and Juliet" - the line is "You and me Babe, How about it?"
My husband borrowed it when he proposed to me. :rotfl:
One day we were at an Antiques Fair when I spotted a ring I liked. He picked it up and said would I like it as an engagement ring. He then proceeded to try and haggle over the price with the stall holder. I told him it was unromantic to haggle over the price of my engagement ring.
He bought the ring and then went down on one knee, in the middle of the market .......and uttered the immortal words "You and me Babe, how about it". OF course he got the customary round of applause from passers by.
Exhibitionist.......:rotfl:0 -
carmen I like that haircut too. I like that it's short enough to be manageable, but still has length.
ll thanks for the birthday suggestions. I have plenty of time to come up with a plan of action.
sugar I think you did the right thing with regards to Wayne. I haven't been to the Imperial War Museum since it was refurbished, so you've reminded me I should visit!!!
I love the Michelle Obama compliment. I really do like Michelle - she seems to have a really good balance of retaining her own strong personality, whilst being the Presidents wife and all that entails.
I had a nice compliment today, someone said I 'do' casual outfits really well and they struggled with casual - I replied that I had the opposite problem and I find 'smart' more difficult. I was wearing dark wash straight leg jeans rolled up, a navy sleeveless top and glittery espadrilles. I popped on a headband to keep me looking feminine.0 -
Good afternoon ladies,
Sugar I love reading about what and how you coordinate your clothes you remind me so much of my sister, she used to do the same even down to her earrings.
Whenever we pass the IWM my OH always mentions that he would like to have a look around.Like you I do not like to see the reality of war in such graphic detail! With the changes you have mentioned I think I could manage a visit now.
Last night I was watching Michelle Obama make a speech, that lady really has class. I hope you took the compliment as deserved:)
Chanie, some people like fuss on their birthday others (like me) not so much. It is your day so do what will give you joy.
Pulling off casual is great and can look very chic.
Jacci glad to hear you are having a good day, even though you are in so much pain  Keep up the good work
LOL Twinnie, love the chat up line and proposal.
My OH attempt goes like this,
Him: What would you say if I ask you to live with me.
Me: NO!
Him: OK we had better get married then.
Me: Is that a proposal?
Him: I suppose so.
And they say romance is dead :rotfl:
OH's best man (whose wife finally left him) gave us six months!
From the age of 18ish our postman was always tell me I should be a film star :rotfl: I hated crossing paths with him and would avoid him whenever I could. He must have been 10/15yrs older than me and looked fine, but in my memory bank I see Les Dawson especially when he pursed and wiggled his lips :rotfl:
One chap was convinced I was Annabel Croft, if he could see me now
Even though I am a very optimistic and confident person I don't do compliments well, except from my husband.
Sorry to waffle on.
Carmen x0 -
Ah Twinnie.....romance is alive and well, : your postman sounds creepy though.
Well I am so cross with myself. Just cleaning out some cupboards and have had to throw out some out of date food.
As my teachers used to say "could do better". :rotfl:0 -
Wow! Michelle Obama, that's compliment indeed!:T I agree about your birthday chanie. This year's different with the LO starting school so do something on the day but set aside another day for treating yourself. I know you do English Heritage. What sort of thing would be part of an ideal day out for you?
I'm another who hasn't been to the IWM for years. Last time I went was with loads of children so needed to make sure they were focused so it would be good to go back on my own.
Wayne is nothing if not persistent sugarbaby. I'm sure he can see what he's missing but that's not your problem.;)
I liked the hair do too Carmen and I think as it's not too sleek it should be easier to look after. You asked about eyebrow definition. I'd suggest you take up the offer for beauty treatments and get them shaped professionally. I get mine waxed every few weeks and then it's easy enough to keep the shape yourself. After that I simply use a soft (in texture and colour) brown pencil to define the shape. You might suit a different colour. I was using a Benefit pencil but the Maybelline one (Master Shape Brow Pencil) is every bit as good and a fraction of the price.
What are you planning to make LL? Like you I probably spend too much time on line and with trash TV but I've been indulging myself lately as I really have needed to rest up. My cough subsided some weeks ago (after first antibiotic) it's the extreme tiredness that's been so hard to cope with. The jury's still out on what's caused it. I suspect a virus!;)
I have an occasional disk problem jacci. Although I take Co-codamol, when the pain strikes it's not really effective on its own. I have to take Amitriptyline as a relaxant as well. That works really well but it makes me feel like a zombie. Goodness knows how people who take it regularly manage.
DH and I are meant to be going out tomorrow. Before I could plan where he remembered an errand. Fortunately it's something he needs to collect on the edge of the Cotswolds so if it an all be arranged for tomorrow then it'll be win/win. I think I'll go for the French look (navy trousers with stripey top) as that's smart enough for sightseeing or lunch in a pub. Will let you know how I get on.:)0
