LL that's similar to my home town, but plenty of lovely residents aren't eligible to vote ;)

Hope you begin to improve very soon, but you have been through a lot over the last few years xx

I worked at a polling station yesterday. It's a long day, but the money is good and the majority of voters are lovely. Anyway, I spent a lot of time observing the electors who came in, focussing on the women and what they were wearing. Election time is fab for people watching, as its not often you get to see such a diverse section of the community.

The vast majority of women looked 'normal' and very few stood out. We all focus on the one or two stunners we see, but the vast majority of women don't dress like they've stepped off the catwalk every day.

Hair - I noticed one woman due to her overuse (in my opinion) of blusher. She did look well put together. I don't think she was wealthy, but clearly cared about her appearance. The reason she stood out was because she had expensive hair. She had highlights which I suspect are high maintenance ones, but it did make her look more expensive than she probably was.

Accessories - one woman was wearing a simple plain black dress with boots. It occurred to me that if she bought some 'wow' accessories, like a watch and boots, she could have looked amazing. That's definitely the look I'd like to go for.

Love your comments about your people watching day.........

I agree hair is the big one.......a good haircut can flatter and lift an average look to something really special.

I went out to dinner with friends on Tuesday, one of them has recently changed her hairdresser and her hair looked stunning. She has also lost 19 lbs and I can honestly say I have never seen her looking so lovely. She's blossomed.

I definitely need to change my hairdresser. If it means paying more then so be it, although tbh she is not exactly cheap.

And I agree nice accessories can really lift an outfit and are a good investment.

My new dress arrived this morning. Even if I say so myself It is gorgeous - a real showstopper. i still ant quite believe my luck finding it.

Lost another lb. wahoo. Slow but sure. DIL commented on my weight loss the other day so it's starting to be noticeable now. Nice feeling. I have got a long way to go but at least it's heading in the right direction.

    FAb Friday......have a great day.

    Good morning lovely ladies.....

Well it's a grey day here - rain probably on its way.....again!! But, after a few days spent round the house - bad shoulder and neck - I am going to venture out before I go stir crazy.....;)

No more newspapers, Internet etc. I'm all "Brexited Out". I need a break from the all the hysteria and hype......

Have booked a hairdressers appt for the week after next - going to try a different one. Also a massage for my neck but can't get in till THursday so will just have to manage as best as I can.

Other than that no much news.......have booked the d for stor for for week after next so need to buy paint and get organised. I have booked a house viewing for next week. Not sure how that will pan out, when I booked it the EA advised me it was all "going mental" - people backing Out of sales, people withdrawing their property from the market.......

At least if I do find something I am lucky in that I don't need a mortgage so won't be at the mercy of the banks..........

Stay safe and well, it's a whole new world out there and there are a lot of headless chickens running around. The saddest thing in all of this is to see the division it is causing.......lifelong friends falling out, families set against each other.

Thankfully although my sons have diametrically opposing views they have had the sense to keep a sense of proportion and not fall out. The same cannot be said for a lot of people. I have been very shocked by the vitriol I've seen.

I sincerely hope it will all die down soon.

Remember ladies "focus on you". And just keep fabbing.

I'm all 'Brexited out' too. I think there is a lot of scare mongering going on, which is unnecessary.

Whilst moving chains are falling through, I expect it will only be temporary and the market will recover quickly enough. You never know, you may be able to snap up a bargain, LL, given that you are a cash buyer and you aren't in a chain. You know the market better than I do, but that would be my theory.

My sister just moved into a new house - she completed the day after the vote. I did joke to her that it was too late to pull out. Luckily, she was in a small chain - the buyer of her house was an investor and she bought from a lady who was moving in with her partner. Its a lovely house and I'm really pleased for her. I'm now considering whether or not we should move. We haven't out-grown our house yet, but it is small, so, in the words of Kirsty and Phil do we 'love it, or list it'.

Add me to the list of those sick of hearing about Brexit.
The vitriol, scaremongering and downright tantrum throwing by some following the result is actually making me quite depressed - I strongly suspect that, once the shockwave has subsided, it will have little real effect, but we'll see.
In the meantime I'm avoiding all news media for the next few days. Tomorrow I'm going to buy some trashy mags and limit my reading to those for a week!
Going to have another go at couch to 5k tomorrow; I started a while ago but fell off the wagon - I've always wanted to be able to run, so I'm treating it as a bucket list goal! It'll take me twice the specified time to achieve the 5k, I'm sure;)
Currently tucked up in bed catching up on the thread, as yesterday was a nice day, spent at a family bbq, but a very long one, followed by little sleep last night. So I'm going to catch up on some z's in a bit!

I went to Autism Rocks on Saturday at the Hammersmith Apolllo with my 24 year old daughter. It was a tribute concert to Prince this year and we were very fortunate to have free tickets to this concert. :T

I decided to be practical, because I could not be sure until we got to the Box Office if we would receive standing or seated tickets. I wore my black leather Slazenger trainers so that I would not have to worry about the rainy weather or standing for long periods. I did not wear any make up or nail polish. I wore a pull on black skirt, a red M & S t shirt that has a lot of embroidery around the almost square neckline and my black Wallis raincoat.

We had the most fantastic time. We sang along and we danced. When I did not have enough space in front of my seat, I stepped out onto the stairs to dance. :j

We left home at 4.30pm and got home after midnight. :)

Sugarbaby - Sounds like a great night, and free tickets too, even better.

Ellsbel - good luck with the couch to 5k, try not to worry about the time it takes you, everyone has to start somewhere and I have read such great reports about it.

Chanie - one of my favourite hobbies is people watching, I fin time passes very quickly when waiting for an appointment etc,:D

The last few days have been plagued by an evil bout of IBS, but still plodding on. Today was my training day for the self treatment of the antibody replacement therapy, it went well and I managed to take the whole (huge:eek:) amount of 40ml into 2 injection sites, If all goes well in the future (weekly) it should take about 1 hour plus preparation time. My OH was a great help and will be around to help with the preparation when I have dexterity problems. Crossing my fingers that after a while I should see an improvement in my health and well being:D
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)

    Fingers crossed for you maddie
Sounds like a great night sugar; glad you had fun.
Low key day for me today but I'm wearing a new perfume which I quite like; might be a keeper!
Thinking of the people of Turkey and all caught up in the awful events in Istanbul.
Have a good, safe day everyone X

Isn't Maman in Turkey right now........or have I got that wrong. Yes it's a very bad time for them. Just goes to show how precarious life can be.

Maddie - hope your meds help. You are very brave. Hope the IBS eases off, it's horrible isn't it. I had a bout last week but thankfully I seem to have things back under control - for now. It's just that you never know when it will strike. AVoiding trigger foods helps but it's not always foolproof because the triggers change.......:o

Raining here. Off to B&Q in a bit to buy paint. Definitely a raincoat day and it seems quite chilly, so it's jeans and a lightweight sweater plus my trusty trench coat. I'm certainly getting the wear out of it this summer........;)
