Sorry to be back so soon:o
Does anyone have any recs for relaxation and/or meditation CD's, It seems that I must have Kondoed all mine when we moved here, I know that I had a couple of each, plus a very good sleep one, but they are nowhere to be found:mad: I remember that the sleep one was by Glenn Harrold, so will buy that again, but for the life of me cannot remember any details of the others, I think that I am close to running on empty, both physically and spiritually, need to rebuild me, the medics are doing their stuff the well being is down to me.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Sending hugs your way maddie, I've not been posting as I'm thoroughly fed up with myself but I know what you mean about having somewhere to let it all out and I hope it's helped a bit. I can't help with the relaxation recordings I'm afraid; I'll be interested to see if anyone can suggest any, in fact.
Thank you for your post on eye make up the other day, by the way, and the tutorial sites - very helpful.
Sorry you missed your London trip LL; what rotten luck. Well done on the weight loss though.
"Hi" to everyone:) hope you're all well. Shandy I hope work isn't too awful and stressful.
And Sugarbaby is your quiz show recording this week? If so, enjoy yourself:)0 -

Ellsbel - sorry that you are having a hard time at the moment, try and take time if you can to be kind to yourself in some small ways, even if the bigger stuff is not possible. Bath/shower with time to use some nice smellies, half an hour with a cuppa and a book or magazine, something to eat that is not the usual, for me that might be taking the 20 minutes to make a rissotto, just for me (not one of OH's faves) or a tuna steak and some "posh" salad leaves.
keep popping your head around the door here if you can too.

Try youtube for relaxation/meditation material. You might find everything you need there - or things that lead you on to something you can download. have you thought about a class? my cousin runs meditation classes alongside her yoga teaching and they are hugely helpful.0

Hello Ladies,
I had the recording of my TV quiz show today. It was such a memorable day. :j
I wore a sweetheart neckline red cotton short sleeved t-shirt, my black elasticated Wallis skirt, and my red frilled waterfall cardigan with one hook and eye with my red Osprey patent leather bag and my Van Dal black patent leather sling backs with gold cutouts. I wore my solid gold cross and chain, bracelet, diamonique solid gold eternity ring and my solid gold swirl hoop earrings. I did not wear any make up to the Studio as I was looking forward to being made up by a professional make up artist.
It was such a treat having my face made up. I found it very calming and relaxing. I had foundation and blusher on, but it was subtle not in my face and it did not look garish on me. I explained to the make up artist that I rarely wore lipstick, just a clear lip gloss, so she put a lip tint on my lips. She also applied a thin coating of mascara to my eyelashes and a dusting of powder eye shadow.
I wore the same jewellery with a pink top and another black elasticated waist skirt with the same shoes on the TV quiz show. I enjoyed myself so much, that I did not feel nervous once I was on camera.
I have a long wait before the programme will eventually 'air' on TV. It will be either January or February 2017. I am not allowed to disclose what happened, even to my family and close friends.
Ellsbel, LL and Maddie big hugs to all of you. Sorry you are all feeling unwell. I hope you all feel better in the next few days.
We are lucky with the weather in London today. The sun has been shining today with a complete absence of rain. :T0 -
Sugarbaby - sounds like a great day, will look forward to the programme being aired. Being professionally made up must be nice and it is great that it was not OTT and that you were happy with it.
There were some smiles at the beauty parlour today, another customer was having her nails done in preparation for a wedding at the weekend, it seems that the majority of the ladies had been persuaded to have a spray tan for the occasion, many for the first time, much consternation because some of them now resembled the colour of the dark wood furniture:eek:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Someone I know have just filmed a quiz show too. I'm wondering if it's the same one. I think it was a different day though.0 -
Hello ladies:)
Hope you're feeling better today LL. Sorry you've been going through the mill recently.
Maddie I hope you're feeling brighter too; thank you for your kind advice - funnily enough I did have Tuna steak for dinner that night - great minds!:D
I felt "well" enough this morning to give myself a kick up the behind and put on some make up and smartish casual clothes before going out today. I've been to vote, and browsed the shops whilst I was there.I have also had a walk with the dog and have eaten healthily at breakfast and lunch.
I'm afraid weight watchers isn't for me so I have cancelled my subscription and I am trying to focus on healthy eating and exercise -will see how that goes.
I felt quite emotional when voting; which ever way it goes the future seems so uncertain right now for our young folk; it feels like this is a turning point in our history, whatever happens.
I've had my Brazilian blow dry and have to say I'm a little disappointed. Whilst the drying time has been cut in half, and my hair is not quite as fluffy as usual, I'm still having to use straighteners to smooth it after drying which I wasn't expecting to have to do; maybe I just expected too much.
I will have another when the time comes as I'm wondering if a slight build up of the product might have more of an impact.
Am just having a quiet coffee before heading upstairs to vacuum and dust the bedrooms. Have a good day everyone.0 -
Still not feeling up to speed TBH. In fact I have been dozing on the sofa most of the afternoon.
I did manage to get out and vote though. Like you say, whichever way it goes, I think today's vote was the big one. More important even than a general election.
Either way, I think it will be a game changer, whatever happens. Like you say I think it's a turning point.
TBH I got a shock this morning, re our city council. Someone has sent an open letter to both the local press and local Facebook pages. In this letter they listed all the closures and cutbacks, all the bad spending decisions, all the waste. It was truly horrifying.
I think I must have been sleepwalking through the last few years because many of them were news to me. (In my defence I did have other things on my mind).
I am hoping that other people were as shaken as I was and come the next time we vote in the local elections we sweep them out. Apparently the last time there was only a 30 per cent turnout.
I guess we've got the city council we deserve..........:o0
