Well done everyone with our mins game (and everyone else,) we are over 16% through already. Had a shortened day at work due to a few non attenders so where normally Monday is very hectic with clubs etc I have an extra 90 mins to get stuff done.

    Day 5 -25 things

    Nutella to caravan box
    13 photos scanned and shredded
Quarter of White eraser cloth thing used and binned
3 small packs of Beads to newly formed bead tub
4 unwanted and unused body butters - binned (kept the fifth and put in caravan box but will get binned if not used whilst away)
Necklace to 'ready' craft box for DD
Unknown plastic things to bin (had it for six month + so can't be that important!
Don’t put it down - put it away!

  • Ok mins game catch up (can't you tell I've been kondoing in the shed):rotfl:

    Day 3
Children's slide -our youngest is 16, it is now old and cracked and unsafe for DGS, it should never have gone in the shed 10 years ago!
Metal cat garden ornament - out out for scrap man but a neighbour knocked and asked for it as her mum always said how nice it looked when she was looking in our back garden or of their bedroom windows:eek::o
Old rusty garden shears - These have never ever used So not sure why we have them, from memory we were given them by a friend of fils when we got married over 30 years ago.

    Day 4
Child sized slightly rusty metal golf club - no one in or family has ever played golf
Old 'died in storage' footballs X2
    Old punctured basketball

    Day 5
3 big tubs containing varying amount of gone over creosote/wood stain in various shades Autumn gold should be renamed baby poo yellow:rotfl:
1 rusty tin of left over feature wall paint.
Manky old rock solid and losing its bristles paintbrush

    Day 6
Long piece of bent metal rod of unknown origin or use
    Broken pair garden grab hands
Child sized slightly bent pool cue
Child sized pool table 'spider' cue support
Selection of rotted wood that was the shed support base
Some plastic trim from upvc Windows saved for Justin by Dh

That puts me a day in front, going to get back on with painting now.

A storage unit for the bathroom arrived today. It's the right size, the colour will do until I can find the time to repaint it, so at some point I need to move things around and work out exactly what is going in it. Might be too small for towels... although if I remove one of the baskets it might work...
  • Imataloss you could be describing my wardrobe before I discovered MK! I had a very bad habit of putting stuff in carrier bags, especially when visitors were coming, thank heavens that is a thing of the past - I still have some craft UFOs in there but I am working through them one by one.

I still look round and think the place is untidy, but your mention of carrier bags reminds me how far I've come!

    Mins Game Day 5 ....

    1. Old catalogue to recycling bag
    2. Holiday brochures - recycling bag
    3. Raided Stationery (I used to spend fortunes on stationery!) box and recycled folders, pads, highlights and pencils to work (stationery at work is hideous)
    4. Emptied dregs of a couple of out of date/glass jars, cleaned and sent to glass bank
    5. Sorted tea towel basket - old ones moved to rags bag

    :) Evening all.

Been doing an un-shopping trip with donations and a trip to visit with SG on the way home. Went out with a full wally-trolley and came back with a bag of veggies which are shortly going to be cooked and eaten.

Great to hear about what everyone's up to. I will fail to complete MinsGame again but will keep it going as long as possible. It is fun waking up and thinking what can I get rid of today.:rotfl:

The To Be Read Books are thinning out slightly. Good to see some gaps opening up in the shelf. I started a thriller last night and will probably finish it tomorrow, so that's another donation bag started.

Keep up the good work, everyone.:T

    imataloss - great start! :)

1 pair of outgrown school trousers and 1 pair of outgrown PE shorts to DS2 &3's school for spares/ selling on the rack in reception.

Nothing else gone from my house but have been at our BTL today in readiness for new tenants arriving on Friday. Tip run/ recycling centre run - cardboard, polystyrene packaging and wood and spare doors all disposed of. OH actually agreed to get rid of all of Justin's wood, doors and spare bits of kitchen upstand - was very impressed!! :T:T Stuff like this would have previously have come back here to languish in our garage and slowly die in storage, so getting rid straight off is a KM win! We are leaving the spare paint at the BTL (same colour used everywhere except kitchen) for the new tenants to do any touching up with if required (possibly after moving their furniture in) We did bring back a large carpet offcut left there by the fitter - it will be used in our under the stairs cupboard where the carpet is (was :o) cream and is manky - hardwearing brownish carpet will be much more suited to there :D:p OH will hopefully fit that next week.

  • Well, I can thoroughly recommend the phone camera as an instant motivator. Never done so much tweaking... click, tweak, delete, re-click... :rotfl:

Got distracted too by a sudden urge to clean...

So all afternoon I've been muttering 'After the Kondo comes the Kleen' like it's some new mantra.

Not that the kondo is finished, far from it, I think that will be always ongoing, it's just that now I can see some extra nooks and crannies and all the accompanying dust.

  • Having tidied up him mum's shed Mr VP brought a large number of bin bags and carrier bags from the shed to our house to be sorted. Now usually this would have resulted in them festering in our garage for eternity. However Mr VP is sorting it all out. I'm helping as well as he has the same hoarding tendencies as his mum.

So far we have found what appears to be every card she has ever been sent including the ones congratulating her on Mr VP's birth, he's now 56.

This does mean that he is not sorting out any of our paperwork. I've come to a halt on the attic as I am helping him with his mum's stuff but it does mean that it all save us a job further down the line.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
