KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Just Kondo'd an hour watching the Tour of Britain and entourage pass through my village! Seeing Cheshire and the west of Derbyshire on the aerial shots on tv a few minutes ago was lovely.
To do list is still waiting, only 2 tasks done so far. Went to sit with my friend this morning as she lost her husband of 52 years yester. I have allocated myself some admin tasks to assist in the early days. I'll be back there on Thursday as well. Puts things in perspective.
Kondo-folded dry washing and all neatly away. Nothing has left the house (except condolences card), but it's all orderly and I feel prepped for working days this week and hols next week.
Siebrie, the recipe sounds lovely. Can't eat it at the mo, low carbing, but have filed it away

Smiling about the caster-catalogue, have encountered similar things. Have just got in from w*rk and have an hour or so before going out to archery class, the first in 2.5 months, whee! Very happy about that.
Shamefully, extricated my longbow from its place flat on the floor behind the bedhead and its cloth carry case was fluffier than the average Persian kitten. Had to vacuum it and then vacuum its resting place.:o
FWIW, longbows should be stored flat, and I don't have anywhere to keep mine other than under the bed. Why oh why do modern homes lack armories, I ask myself? The amount of time I've missed the armory, the portcullis and the oubliette (for those particularly troublesome neighbours), I can't tell you how I suffer from being deprived of these things.:rotfl:
MinsGame Day 6, small gold ring sold for scrap, small broken silver ring ditto, two tins of pencils, unused, to chazzer, 2 dud pens, binned.
Not very special haul of discards, but it's slow here, am waiting for a freegle pickup, should have been yesterday but no show, will give them a couple more days before emailing them.
One thing I have noticed about the justin socks from Mum's is that some of them failed after a couple of wears, as in grew huge holes in the washer. It wasn't wear, it was as if the stuff suddenly gave way. I reckon they had died in storage. Two pairs of the same type but not of the same multipack have exited like that recently and I won't be surprised if some more don't go the same way.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

You know you are tired when you start to read museli recipes as items for mins game!
As it was dd last day off i asked her to collect DD2 from school, as I finished slightly early she asked if she had to still go. I told her she could either do the dishes or get her sister. She chose the latter! Secretly glad as i doubt she has been out all day!
my handbag zip has bought and got one from a hoard i found that will need doing .Everything would fit nicer if i had a smaller purse!
Day 6 - 25 items
The mandatory photos - another 12 gone
2 items from eBay collected.. room looks bigger again!
Old pencil case contents sorted, pencil case temporarily stored with empty cartoons as i have a feeling it will be re used for something else.
As i am tired i have done ten pencils/dud pens etc from drawer.Don’t put it down - put it away!

Have made some phonecalls and as a result am photographing some not particularly loved and potentially valuable stuff to email details to an auction house. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it will pay for at least part of the kitchen!0

Condolences for your friend, MMF, and to you too, as it's so hard to see close friends in the throes of grief.
Seeing the Tour must have been fascinating, I recall watching our bit of the 2012 Olympic Torch relay from very close quarters, these things create a good atmosphere around them.
Greenbee, your news sounds rather promising...
Virtue has arrived here with a capital V.
I hoovered, then wiped the Dyson down - it was rather grim - and to top it off I emptied the cupboard in which it lives and cleaned the floor before putting it back. Nothing to kondo in there - it lives only with the ironing board, a laptray, a sweeping brush and a flat dry mop which has a proper name but I forget what it is.
Got my nice strong box from B00ts, so Ziffit will happen asap.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
Min's game day #6,#7 and #8 (i am away at dads for the next two days so thought i;d get ahead
So 21 things
3 more work diaries (i have only kept the 15 - 16 one, for now)
1 leaflet for a political party
at least 17 and probably more pieces of paper shredded (old bank statements and wotnot). I did say that it might come down to individual sheets of paper and this is an easy way to get ahead
21 photos
Random duplicates from holidays, obscure or blurred scenery, photos where people's head have been cut off (why, oh why were they kept????)
So I am good till Friday. Dads house is horrific but he is a bu88er for knowing where everything is. if i can I will sneak a few things out. To be fair, my brother and his GF also live there - otherwise i think it'd be easier to shift stuff...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

It also means I have to clear up properly to take photos... I've just given my poor neglected orchids a bath while taking pictures of the pot I've shoved half a dozen of them in. Probably the first drink they've had in about 3 months! Next challenge is to clear the dining table (where everything has migrated to) so I can take a picture of it.
The small drawer unit I had delivered for the bathroom yesterday now has my running stuff in it  Not sure whether this is entirely logical, but as it was previously in the living room, it is definitely an improvement. Now I just need to find a home for my yoga & pilates stuff...0 -
Kondoed 11/2 lb this week at weigh in tonight. .:D
Another bag of MIL's old paperwork sorted. Two long sleeved tops added to the collection for the CS and some random bits of material washed ready for the rag bag.
I work full time but have booked a day off tomorrow to spend another day in the attic tomorrow with DD's help before she goes back off to Uni. More CS runs and recycling runs on the cards for tomorrow.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Well...they will leave the house eventually:p
I am getting organised again for the school year. Introduction to year three of primary school last night and to year three of kindergarten tonight. All dates in diary and on calendar, forms filled in and sent back to school via dds, school gear in correct bags, taster sessions of several sports arranged, intro lesson music arranged, now I need to get myself into a gymnastics class.
Boss has informed me that I need to make sure all my work is finished witin a fortnight as a highly confidential huuuuge task will come my way then. She could not say what it involved and what created the hugeness:T So, it may be photocopying everything we have on file, or thinking up a new software system, or anything in between.... I will just wait and not stress out. My hours are 9-5, four days a week, and I do not plan to stretch that. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Well the Ziffit box is packed except for some bubble wrap or something similar which is needed to fill it to the top of the box. And my trade price went up in the meantime, plus I also found a magic code to give me an extra 10 per cent, so around £18 will be on its way. Also the collection place is only round the corner, so a bonus there.
Thank you to the kind person on here who signposted me to Ziffit. x“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0
