Ahh Kaz thats good of you.But what you could have done is had a stall in the hall you would have sold an awful lot as it was packed out.Thank you for offering
I always put a post up on FB after thanking people who came and spent their hard earnt money. My friend who is moving here 'liked' the post.So I sent her a message saying glad you like it as you are down to help me next Month :rotfl:
My responsibilities regarding the Jacket have gone and its like a weight has been lifted.Yes the money would have been nice but I didnt want the stress selling it etc. I am so glad its gone and I think now that mental block has been kondoed. There will be other Bessies going and even more Bessies worn to walk the dog.:rotfl:
I hope people will say 'you know that mad women who walks her dog in wellies and a posh frock' and yes I will know they are talking about meDo I care not one bit
Do I worry about it not one bit. My Mum always said I would grow in to an eccentric mad old women surrounded by animals.Mmm and I think she completely hit the nail on the head. Said she with a dog,20 chooks and now 7 cats a grown up baby rabbit on the garden and a French Partridge with 8 chicks that come for food everyday.
And long may it last:D

Evening all.
I've been offline until a few mins ago, busily gardening, batch-cooking and finishing the large format paperback novel I started yesterday.
MinsGame Day 4; a top, another paperback novel, a printer cartridge (recycling) and a dead biro (binned).
Regarding what will happen to the household goods and chattels of those with no close kin, or those whose kin cannot or will not spend days/ weeks/ months processing - the answer is house clearance guys.
The items will be ruthlessly triaged into valuables and non-valuables. A lot will end up as job-lots in the cheaper auction sales, bought by small dealers and turned around at bootsales etc. Quite a bit will be binned. There will be very little sentiment attached. Books will go out at 4 for £1 and most things will be pretty nigh worthless.
It's a rather grubby, brutal yet poignant trade. Folks who earn a living in it tend not to be collectors or hoarders themselves, funnily enough. I guess they see so much that they get sickened by Stuff.Did a tip run this morning with a couple of IKEYA blue bags of nasty things like horsetails and seeding weeds. Managed not to be distressed by good stuff going over, as there were few members of the public about, due to the early hour and the threatening rain.
I did note that there was a digger with a huge shovel ramming the discards from one side of the facility to the other, once good and useful things reduced to a melange of stinky carp, most of which will be landfilled.
The tip is like the anti-mall, the place where consumerism goes to die.I did a fast bit of wombling as I passed one of our communal bins and a clothes drying rack is now Saved for the Nation. Or, at least, the part of the Nation which shops in chazzers round my neck of the woods.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

One thing I forgot to report, there was a large pile of socks on the floor in the bedroom needing sorting and putting away and I've just not got to them, went upstairs earlier and OH has sorted them MK style!
A job that's going to take several days, we grew rather a lot of onions this year. They've been drying out on the garage floor but seeing that OH works away in the week at the moment, my consumption of these won't make much of a dent in the pile, so I've decided to chop and freeze them. I'm freezing them spread out on chopping boards before bagging up, so am limited to 3 boards at a time. Could take me several days.........Make £2025 in 2025

Bottom of dresser and three photo frames (from the attic in my SIL's old flat) gone to a friend who has just moved house.
I've also done some cooking, so hopefully the vast array of veg I bought yesterday will at some point fit into the allocated space. Carrot, lentil and coriander soup for lunch today has resulted in approx 3 portions for the freezer. I'm also making courgette soup as 'large courgettes' were a bargain at the farm shop. And some aubergine curry for supper, which will also be frozen.
I have more sweetcornI've been mostly eating vegetables for the last week and love how much more energetic it is making me feel. And enjoying cooking, despite my limited kitchen facilities.
