KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Wow, have just used the new can opener and it went around a Fr@y Bentos pie tin so easily that I had to squint to be sure it was actually cutting the metal, because it seemed too easy. How bad that other can opener had got without my noticing it. And how glad it isn't that I suddenly lost strength in my wrists, lol.:rotfl:
It's tempting (I'm a reformed Justinette) to hang onto the old one, it still looks perfectly good. But it isn't good even as a spare because it's so blunt I care barely use it. Besides, if I run out of working can openers and the shops aren't open, there are a couple of those little army can-openers in the drawer which would do me a turn.
It'll go into the metal recycling section at the tip where hopefully its stainless steel will re-join the materials stream and go on to be re-made into something else.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Well done MMF, it's not easy to confront a scammer in action, bet the lady was grateful for your timely intervention.
A horrible heap of till receipts (3 months' worth) has been tidied into 3 separate monthly piles for eventual bank reconciliation. I do skim my statements as they come in, making sure there's nothing untoward, then I go and postpone ticking off the items! Need a better routine for this, I think. One that gets it done sooner so the till receipts don't have to sit there glaring accusingly at me! Incoming mail gets dealt with at source - the shredder is in the hall, but till receipts have a life of their own it seems, and migrate all over the place. May need to get a spike from somewhere...“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
Had a bit of a blitz! Managed to Kondo an Antler cabin bag that has a peculiar opening so I've only used it twice - 2 pairs of brand new shoes ( one pair I've had for about 8 years! The back packs I cleared out the other day and a few bits and pieces of clothing. I also took my defunct hot brush to the tip.
I tidied and sorted 3 bags of packaging materials in to an empty storage box that's been lurking, waiting for me to find a use for it. RoD is looking slightly better
MMF. :T:T:TSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I have both a slow cooker and a modern pressure cooker, and find I prefer soups and stews made in the pressure cooker - the flavours taste fresher and more lively somehow. I used to make rice pudding in the SC but I'm a low carb eater these days. It seems to me that the SC can be kondo'd to the charity shop some day soon, which will reclaim a bit of badly needed space on the kitchen worktop.
The dismantled COD is still in the car. The road to the tip was closed this morning, so I'll try again tomorrow.
I've realised it is time to remove from my dressing table two rose glass perfume bottles that I inherited from my mother 17 years ago. I'll offer them to my sister, as they no longer fill me with joy, even though they are beautiful. Our feelings towards previously treasured items can and do change over time, and it's good to do the KM thing of thanking things for the joy they gave, and rehoming them with kindness and gratitude.0 -
ended up Kondoing an extra £350 and two extra days in Wales! Woke up on holiday on Friday and basically was Kondoing anything I ate and drank
, OH was going to phone the emergency doc that's listed on the site information if I was no better by Saturday (then sneakily did it any way
), feeling a bit better bit turns out I have Glandular Fever for the 3rd time

i think justin is just in case!0

Justin is a joke, as in keeping some just-in-case (Justin Case). He's responsible for a lot of clutter, bless his little cotton socks.
The can-opener brand is Brabantia, as was the predecessor.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
