    Good morning :)

Well okish, got a sore throat/earache, leaving for now hope it gets better, if still bad next week will go to doctors. Trying to work out whether its all stress related, probably not helping anyhow.

So sister has this week of work from teaching as she is under pressure, she is being good though and sorting out bits for dad, chasing up outstanding appointments, meeting council today to hopefully organise some more care, fingers crossed it goes ok and dad is co-operative. In the meantime she has spoken to organise counselling at the hospice mum died, there is a bit of a wait list but I believe it will do the world of good. She has a doctors appointment next week so hopefully she will be able to get on an even track somehow.

I feel sometimes like I am drowning a bit as worrying myself over everything and now feel like have to stay positive for sister, there is one of mums friends who I could talk to, may call him tonight as he was helpful when mum died, he is older and also has dealings with dementia and lots of issues so hopefully may be able to help, be good to talk to someone outside of the situation anyhow.

So horsey not great, she is a bit foot sore, had farrier on monday and he had to cut a lot off as she was very long, even though only 6 weeks, think grass growing, she isnt lame just a bit tetchy. So this morning she decided she didnt want to leave her stable was an argument to get her out to the field, got there in the end. Not sure whether footsore and didnt want to walk on cobbles or whether she is hungry, as she seems hungry when she comes in. There isnt a lot of grass but some and she is a good doer anyhow. Am feeding lots of hay in the evening and she has plenty of hard food and definitely hasnt lost any condition. May give her some hay in the field but would need to put her out earlier so she can have it by herself, just keep monitoring situation I suppose, thats all I can do.

So money wise which is what this diary is meant to be all about. So car insurance renewal landed last night, £275, budgeted £250, have shopped around just now on comparison sites and the 2 that arent listed any my renewal, even with cashback factored in is still the cheapest so have to suck it up and pay. So an extra £25 to add to the insurance target, least not a huge amount.

So currently in insurance savings are £278 so enough to pay the car insurance outright, with £3 spare. So my car is due for service and MOT on the 18th and this fund is for this too but not enough in there yet. So free council tax, water and expenses add up to approx £270 so that should cover most of it, fingers crossed, rest will have to go on a credit card and then pay it off next month with the £150 from council tax and water. So thats the plan and shouldnt incur any interest.

Next payment out of the fund is the horses annual injections due in April, approx £150 so need to save up for that, then house insurance in June and life insurance in August. Will save up somehow. Between budget savings, ebay, surveys should be ok. Also have some journeys in february to other office so should have a few expenses too, all will help.

    Good morning :)

Was off sick on friday, headache, sore throat, earache, come out as a cold now, am at work but feel like I want to go home this afternoon and sleep :(

Weekend was ok spent £3 odd on loo rolls and carrots for the hoss. Took my dad for a steroid injection to help his arthritis, hoping it works, got a follow up appointment in April. Paid £2 for car park out of loose change.

Sunday didnt spend a penny, took hoss out for a walk in hand, went with 2 other horses, she decided she didnt want to go out of the yard so ended up reversing her up the driveway  it worked although she wasnt impressed, once out just went for a walk round the block but she behaved ok. Its partly my fault as havent done much with her for ages, considering mum, dad etc its to be expected but partly her fault for being a stubborn mule, lots more training needed. If I can do something everyday, even if its just a good groom or walk round the school it will all help.

Need to get a few top up groceries today as practically out of fresh bits. Have some pennies in account but not really for the food as already overspent budget  But have £19 in nectar points and £7 in clubcard vouchers so between the 2 shops hope not to spend a penny in hard cash :)

She lives out doesn't she? Hope you manage to catch up on some sleep and avoid taking ill. I must admit, I felt like **** this morning and could quite easily have turned back over and ignored the world.

I feel for you - life rushed past sometimes doesn't it, so we need to stop and take stock and enjoy those moments, such as spending 30 mins grooming or walking out, rather than rushing on to the next item. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon x

    Good morning :)

Feel so much better today, went home and had a sleep for a few hours, amazing the difference, still a bit cold like but so much better and feel like I can function!

So I was bad yesterday, went food shopping before going to bed and spent £118  With vouchers and nectar points total bought down to £88 but still. So included in that was lots of fresh bits, some store cupboard items, lots more freezer items and 2 pairs of jeans. Now obviously I dont have any money to pay for this  So angry at myself. When will I learn  So tonight am going to try on the jeans, as didnt in the shop and unless they fit perfectly will take them back, that will be £28 returned if needed. I am in that annoying stage of my current jeans are too big but the huge stash of jeans I have at home are a wee bit too tight.

So in more depressing news one of the jumpers I bought last week tried on today and it looks awful, have already taken the tags off, grr, think I may have the receipt, may try and take it back if not more money wasted. Will try and sell on ebay if I cant take it back, at least recoup some of my losses :(

So lessons are still needing to be learnt on this MSE journey. One day will get there.

So in theory need £88 to be paid of my Sains CC. This (luckily I have it) can come out of my free council tax month money. Leaving for now before trying jeans on and if needs be for refund and then will pay off in next few days.

So onto positive things, expenses landed today and my first ebay sale of the year, taking my insurance pot up to £404. So £276 needed for car insurance leaving £128 to pay for car service/MOT. If I do need the £88 for Sains CC will have left after council tax and water £70 to add to the car service/MOT fund so approx £200. So I believe it will be more than this but have another £150 from next month free council tax and water and that will hopefully cover it.

I spoke to my lodger about rent rise and he is happy with that, he was looking at leaving but has decided to stay and is saving up for a house deposit. So his rent will increase by £50 to £400 a month. With the probable rise in council tax, estimating as not had bill yet should be approx £30 better of a month. This £30 isnt allocated to anything so can go straight towards savings :) Be finish insurance fund first, then emergency fun and then holiday and then to barclaycard.

Plans still in place but least generally going in the right direction.

Re the hoss nothing done last night as not great with cold but thats ok, busy evening tonight with dad and sister making pancakes as a family treat but will try and do some work in the school with her wednesday or thursday.:)

    Good morning, just :)

Yesterday was ok, spent £3 in waitrose on some flour and jam. Went home and there were 2 pears going very soft so found a pancake recipe and used them up, very yummy and have half left for tonight :) Didnt work hossie last night but did pick up feet, she is good with farrier but still argues with me over her back feet so only 5 mins working with her but all helps in the big picture. Nothing planned this evening so will see if I can work her in the school.

Tried on my jeans and they both fit ok, will get rid of some of my old ones. Have paid of the Sains CC today so no interest to be charged. Redeemed some more suvey money, just takes a while to land, another bid on ebay item and £10 sains gift card landed, small things but all make me happy :)

Good morning :) Its friday, no sun shining but I suppose we cant have everything.

So good evening last night. I took advantage of having an evening free of no commitments and worked my horse, did some long reining in the school, with help of a friend managed to get her to work nicely. Very happy with that :) Then came home and spoke to sister, we have 2 offers on dad's house :D Slightly less than we wanted but estate agent going back today asking for best price and then we will accept one. We have a choice of 2 properties that would be suitable, have seen one, sister is arranging for viewing of another and then make an offer on the one that is best. Not counting chickens too soon but at least this is going in a positive direction :)

So this weekend, need to feed dad tomorrow evening and take to church sunday morning but apart from that nothing planned. So hopefully weather will hold up and be able to do some more work with the hoss, maybe try and get riding her, finish clearing my field of poo would be great too. Other than that maybe some work on the house. watch this space.

  • Sounds like a lovely weekend ahead, you try to enjoy it. Good news on house offers too, especially in today's climate. Very pleased for you.
Good going with hoss too, sounds like she's coming on.
I am going to try and turn mine out thie w/e but I'm nervous given they've been in for a few months so worried they go crazy and fall in the field with it being slippy still :\
