To work out your dfd work out how much you can definitely afford to pay each month as a minimum. Plug that into the snowball calculator (just type 'debt snowball calculator' into Google) that'll give you your dfd. Every extra payment you make is down to your hard work and is helping you 'beat' your dfd. I get confused with mine too. XxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800

Hello hope everyone has a nice weekend!
Kitten- will have a look into that snowball calculator later today.
First day back at work over and done with and I was so worn out. I'm glad it's over and it's the weekend again....although that's now over too! :-)
I was busy and did the following on Friday;
Chased my expenses cheque which should be with me next week. BACS so I can just transfer it directly to the Halifax card.
Transferred the council tax and the min payment to the nationwide card. I know I know, I haven't paid the last £100 to the Halifax one yet but just couldn't wait to get started on reducing this balance entirely.
Called my HA and chased the credit to my rent account, still not happened so have diarised to chase in two weeks.
Good start to the month! It's funny how times change and instead of looking forward to getting paid to buy something I don't need I'm getting excited about paying down debt!
Have made a decision to act poor or should I say less able to afford luxuries to my OH. Yesterday he paid for a pizza - because I refuse to buy another takeaway! I did buy toiletries from boots at £6 and a breakfast sandwhich but wish I hadn't as I couldn't finish it and threw half away, still don't have my appetite back which is a bonus for the weight loss side of things.
On Saturday we made the trip to get his monthly bus pass, this is great progression as he realises this saves him £30 a month. Did some food shopping at £45 and got the car washed for £3!
Throat is still sore so haven't been out much but feel better than I did. Today I am meeting a friend for Sunday lunch....budgeted £20 for this but doubt it will cost this much, of course anything I don't spend will be transferred to the nationwide card. I also purchased 4 batteries for our weighing scale and plan to weigh myself at home every Friday morning instead of paying 50p each time.
I have the house to myself today so plan to watch some films and relax before going out later with my friend.
Happy Sunday everyone!Total debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730 -
I have taken your advice and had a look at the snowball calculator and My estimated DFD is March 2017 - which is a year from now! Not sure how I feel about this when I was aiming for this year.Total debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730

If you really want it all paid off this year then the aim is to beat your predicted dfd of March 2017 isn't that far away xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -

No more debt busting as waiting on the expenses cheque and also my OHs contribution. Fingers crossed tomorrow I should be getting my OHs bit and Thursday should be expenses...finally. Only had to wait a month! Now i out the evidence in straight away so I don't have to wait so long! Booked another lot of train tickets for Wednesday and did this the through top cash back website so more pennies to the jar.
Yesterday came in under budget but I had already withdrawn £20 so used the change for this. Today was a NSD, shake for lunch and cooked chicken at home with pasta and garlic bread.

Finally got the cheque for the second expenses claim...weird cause I put that one in after the first one and still haven't gotten the first one! Banked the. Banked the cheque today but have already transferred to the nationwide card as I purchased the tickets on that at that time so balance has come down, although the technically nothing spent.
Another NSD for me! Off to a great start for March going to keep more of a track this month as sort of forget to count.
Not much else to report. Busy day tomorrow travelling for work again.

DFD March 2017 means you'd pay it off in a year. That's fantastic. Only 12 more months being frugal. But enough time to realise real change in your attitude to money so that in future you'll have savings put aside each month.
If you don't like it. Beat it. Extra income - overtime, selling things, surveys, cashback... We can do this.
So you're dfd day is March 2017 and you're aiming for December 2016. There's your target. Go abz!!Loan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800

What a day....travelling yesterday for work, least I managed to get some revision done on the train.
OH gave me his rent money, transferred straight to the nationwide card! :-) This month the total I have paid towards the nationwide card is £ 345.
I suppose March 2017 isn't too bad, you're right kitten living frugally for 12 months is not the worst that can happen. Still going to aim for December 2016. Will update my signature to show this plus will do my new totals once they clear on the cards. Countdown until payday...feel like I'm wishing my life away.
Finally received my cheque so transferred £141 to the Halifax card and banked the cheque at lunch. Yay my totals are coming down.
GMAC - £1,07.18
Halifax credit card - £3,065.11
Nationwide - £1.096.39
Guess what no more interest for the Halifax card!!!! Woohoo!!!! :-)Total debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730 -
Your doing so well ABZ should take a leaf out of your book and aim for larger amounts I'm sure December 16 is a definite for you but if not a year goes by so quickly, think of the last year how quick that's gone x0

Evening all -
Thanks Anita, you're right a year goes too quickly and thank you for the vote of confidence on being debt free this year!
Weekend has been very spendy for me...so much so I'm scared to check my bank balance. Friday I stayed over at work as I'm off tomorrow and Tuesday. Bought dinner from KFC and vodka from the off licence. Mom gave me £20 on sat, she owed me and I spent £15 on a takeaway. Today went to tesco, as I cooked dinner for Mother's Day and cake for OHs birthday! Can you see why I'm nervous! :-) I did budget £60 for OHs birthday present, which he didn't want so hopefully this covers it. Best thing is though I haven't added to my debt just spent out of my current account. Oh also bought £25 petrol.
Other than shopping I resisted the urge to go out last night and instead stayed in and was asleep before 12! oH went out for his birthday with his friends so enjoyed the time alone.
Busy week this week, off tomorrow and we are going to a restaurant on the evening. Tuesday I am treating my mom to a nice restaurant - 3 courses for £22 so can't complain. Friday a friend wants to meet for drinks.
Not much debt busting as you can see but no increase either...oh actually forgot about a cat radiator bed I purchased on Amazon. I only used my credit card as I was too lazy to get my debit card, will transfer the £9 tomorrow.
In other news, I sat my resit on Friday and I failed again! :-( it's so hard!!! I only told one person at work, my oh and mom. They all think I should do it again but I'm not so sure! I hate leaving things half complete but can't seem to pass this exam and it's annoying me as I hate failure too! Decisions, decisions....would be another £123 but my mom said she will pay, don't really want to take the money from her tho. What would you all do??
Hope everyone had a nice weekend.Total debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730
