Hope everyone else is well! My Halifax statement was updated and is the following;
Halifax statement;
223.02 left interest balance
Balance is £3,307.02
Min payment £38.59
Estimated interest £3.18
So happy I managed to reduce the interest my £4 and get that balance down. I think by the end of April I should be sub £3k. Must find time to update my signature below too!
My OH and I had a chat whilst we were driving to the indoor shopping centre yesterday and he has agreed to give me £300 now, holding out did work! He said it doesn't include the cats food, which I'm ok with TBH. He will go halfs on the shopping as discussed. Feel happier about that. Money is extremely tight this month for me, only have £200 left until the 25th. I did go to the cash point today for my OH and thought I would get a receipt to see how much money he actually has and he's got £900+ in his account. Funny that!Total debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730 -
I'm sorry but you should be considering your future with him, if he is reluctant to pay his way now it doesn't bode well for the future. At the moment he sounds like a lodger with benefits , actually scrub that a lodger would be paying more.Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

Have your time to think everything over. In the very least tell him what a d bag he is being. I'm glad he's agreed to pay. New horizon for your debt journey
I'm glad you've caught up with friends and treated yourselfyou need to enjoy your life to get through. Not disappear down a hole - he's always out lol
How about next step is you talk about a save to buy isa. £200 a month on his part and you'll join soon xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Back to it now I'm back at home!!
I have finally had my expenses authorised so should be getting the cheque through soon. As money is so tight this month I'm going to save the money until I get closer to pay day. Would rather have that to fall back on than add to my credit cards. Plus I have the compo money for the inconvenience of moving out so will be chasing that the end of the month and pay off £400 chunk from my debt. Depending on how much I have left on my Halifax it could all go to nationwide, which would bring it below £1,000!!!
Unfortunately I got a letter to say I have to pay £22 towards a student loan I have had, I never finished open university so confused as to why I have to pay it. It comes out of my pay but not pleased as it hasn't contributed to my career anyway?! Plus I've have been earning £21,000+ for a while now so unsure why they are only just asking for the money. Oh well nothing I can do but not adding it to my debt counter. Education should be free...that is a convo for another thread! :-)
NSD yesterday, apart from the £120 for the cats but that was a planned expense and OH paid half. I think he's finally understanding what u mean when I say he needs to help out more. He's catching the bus to and from work and told me to use the £300 he gives me to pay down the debt...wonder what has gotten in to him!
Already spent today, a rubber can lid for the cats food tins, we have switched them from pouches as it's cheaper plus we get more for our money! And a new toilet roll holder for my bathroom from eBay only £8. Thinking of also buying an over the door towel holder, it's £9 on eBay. Realistically we aren't going to move out till next summer so going to refresh the house as its looking abit tired.
Have a good day everyone!Total debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730 -
Say to him I won't use your money for our debt I'm using it towards your half of our bills. Cheeky git but still at least he's getting on board
That'll be nice after redecorating. Jazz everything up. Hope it all looks nice? XLoan 1 £5200/£8000

The bathroom looks good but it's made me paranoid about the state of the rest of the house....I'm eager to get started on the living room and hallway. Shouldn't be too expensive as we have already bought the paint for the hallway but need some gloss.
Not much in the way of debt reducing this month. Money is so tight. Really need to get paid and trying desperately not to dig into my savings or credit card. Another two weeks before pay day! Haven't really arranged anything socially because of this, one of my friends wants to meet for dinner next week but not sure if I want to go yet.
Family visiting this weekend....have a good one everyoneTotal debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730 -
How fast did that weekend go.... Nice family get together on Saturday an home yesterday.
As I said money is really tight so no debt clearing for me. Had to move £50 from my own savings just to make sure I have enough for the next week and a half.
Weighed myself an gained 2lbs!!! This month is not as successful as January but at least I haven't added to my debt!Total debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730 -
Well done on not adding to your debt that itself is an accomplishment, know how you feel about money being tight my issue doesn't help when one of my parents (I'm a childminder) has paid me for two weeks !!!!! Could really be doing with the money to be fair hopefully she pays me this week xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050

Abba - fingers crossed the parent will pay you x
I have been debt busting today...called Virgin and reduced our to package so no longer paying £50 a month!!! Now paying £39.99 for 6 months and £42.99 for the remaining 6 months! Saving of £10.01 will transfer this to my card from next month. I refuse to pay more than £50 a month for Tv services plus don't really watch it anymore. Was thinking of going back to free view and just having the internet.
Brought myself a Gregg's lunch today as I went out for a drink at lunch and needed the baguette to soak up the alcohol! Drink was paid for my the company. Desperately need petrol as my light came on this morning so have lent £20 off my OH to put it in tomorrow. This is a good start to my poverty act I am planning on carrying out with him...in actual fact it's real!!! :-)
Tonight we ate from home and my OH was mentioning he has been looking at flights to Barcelona for my birthday....and it will be his treat! Not sure what's come over him but I like it.
Have to return my eBay purchase for the bathroom, it arrived scratched!!! Have to pay out to return that tomorrow!
Counting down until pay day...Total debt when starting Sept 2021 - £14,629.61 / Current debt - £13,398.730 -
Hello....things are slowing down at work so can make nightly updates again!
NSD today, oops forgot petrol this morning. This doesn't count though as OH lent me £20. Returned the toilet roll holder today only to find out the postage has already been paid for!! Result!!! Met my dad for lunch and he paid!
Also purchased train tickets for work through the cash back website so the grand total stands at £7.67! Woohoo lol. Plan to keep this until the holiday next year so hopefully by then should be at least £100. Paid for the tickets on my nationwide card and plan to transfer this money once the expenses have cleared. Still waiting for my mileage and meal expenses so hopefully they will arrive together.
That's all for today..off to chill out an cook dinner.
