Hope you are feeling better today and manage until 2pm in the shop.
For cheap but nice coats I use www.mandmdirect.com - I use them for my DD and DS' hoodies etc. Good brands at decent prices.0 -
Thanks EE.
I made it to work and back. But I am wiped out!
Sold a sewing machine though so that is good.
Only really managed one job, a large coat needed a new collar, cuffs and edges bound in matching fabrics, replacement zip and buttons.
A lot of work!
I am just home and going to have a snack and a cuppa and maybe curl up on the sofa with a blanket.
Dgd will be back from the neighbour's soon enough. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Yesterday I got up to take DS to his work but went back to bed until 10am!
At lunchtime we went for a trip to IKEA in MK. Parking was a nightmare. But I resisted temptation to spend. My friend got curtain poles and a new light for his dining room. Dgd amused herself with their paper yard sticks and a pencil all the way around.
When I got home it was a quick jacket potato with curry for our meal and then rested. Watched the tennis and a bit of Catch-up. Then bed.
I am feeling better today.
Here's hoping that I am on the mend properly now.
I have a few curtains to shorten today and plenty of trousers to alter as well.
I have a meeting with school at 4.30 so will need to close a few minutes earlier so I can get there.
Dgd has Brownies tonight. She missed last week due to being ill.
I hope to finish my Christmas orders this week as well.
So I better get going. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
After talking things through with my friend, mum, and dgd, I have decided that I will holiday at Christmas with Mum, and dgd goes to her Mum. I will holiday at Easter with DGD, and I will holiday in the summer with my friend when dgd goes to her Mums.
So today I booked dgd and myself back to Portugal and the favourites hotel for a week in April. Although I did book self catering and not half board etc.
I can always upgrade the meals when I get there, and I have a discount card for the hotel, as a privilege member.
So I have two holidays booked now. Christmas one with Mum, is now a month away tomorrow.
It's all bought and paid for by Mum, I am very lucky.
I have been saving up what little bit I can since I came back from the summer, and that has just paid for Easter, and now my challenges to myself are to find the spending money for Easter. And the cost of my share of the summer holidays with my friend.
I have nearly all my Christmas presents sorted out and will have only a few things still to get.
Now our birthdays are out of the way it's full steam ahead to Christmas.
DS's boots arrived today and his coat is dispatched.
So he will now get through the winter better, while he works outside. I will sleep easier knowing that.
So I guess the next big thing on the bills side is the car service on Thursday.
I will be financially depleted again but, will be motivated to put away funds for the next project in line which will be Biggest's Wedding in June.
I have a dress at work that I will alter to fit me nearer the time, and will soon be on the lookout for shoes and bag. Although I may even attempt to make them. Well make a bag and either dye or recover some shoes.
I was making Christmas bunting this afternoon after I had finished the curtains and trousers I had to do.
I ran out of time because I had to go to school to meet the headteacher and the senco coordinator.
Dgd missed brownies as we were late getting dinner and she was rather clingy and didn't want to go. To be honest with such foul weather I didn't push it.
I have brought my tea up to bed and I am going to write my diary and then get some sleep I hope.
Certainly feeling better but still very tired. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Usually writing my diary before I go to sleep helps me. Not last night it seems. I was restless and had really very strange dreams.
I woke just before 6am so haven't bothered to try to get back to sleep.
My Sad lamp is due to come on in a minute so for the next 20 minutes I will be sitting here trying to absorb its powers so to speak.
I didn't do the washing up last night so that will need to be done, and I have a basket of wet washing that needs drying . Even with the cover on the rotary line I don't think it would dry outside at all.
I found the mould has started to grow under the surface of the paint in my bathroom again so I am not very happy about that and will have to hang the washing up in there today. I shall have to put the heater on in there to warm it up a bit, and the extractor is always on too. At least if I put the heat on for a while before I go to work it might help start drying things.
I have two dresses to alter, a pair of trousers to shorten, a pocket to replace in another one, and another one to taper the legs. So I will have the bunting finished and start on the sacks today. They are cut out and ready for me to sew.
I am looking forward to making things not just repairing them. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo in the long run a dehumidifier would be cheaper and more efficient at drying your washing and it will help keep the mould away.0

Not sure where I would put one as the bathroom is so small but I will investigate.
Spent the day sewing Christmas orders. Took me longer than planned as I had to go up and down to the shop.
This evening I have made myself list 9 bits of Jewellery on EBay.
I have loads of Costume Jewellery from when I sold them in the shop, so would be handy if I could rehome them for a little money. But I won't hold my breath. I will try listing 9 or 10 items a day if eBay will let me.
You never know someone might like it and buy as stocking fillers.
It's quite time consuming photos and descriptions etc. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Do you have an airer you could use indoors?
I have 1 set up in my room near the radiator to dry trousers and underwear etc. Shirts and jumpers hang from the door frames.
My bathroom used to always have mould, one wall is on the outside of the house and no matter what I did it went mouldy so my husband tiled the whole wall instead!!!
Could you put your costume jewellery on your shop facebook page and ask for offers up until a set day and time and then sell to the highest?0 -

I may try that as I have amassed a lot of it some how.
If I got 99p less eBay fees it won't amount to much so via my Facebook I might save my self the fees anyway.
I had a second hand page at one stage maybe I should reserrect that one. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Wednesday has come around fast again. Today is my day off from the shop and my day to deal with Mum and DS and anything in between.
I could have done with the energy last night to do my housework as I continue to live in a cluttered environment. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to dropping things on the sofa when I walk in the door and dgd is learning from me! Although I always hang up my coat!
It's lamp time again so a bit of enforced time sitting in front of it while I do my bits on the mobile phone.
I forgot to take the bins out last night so will have to dash down to do that as soon as the lamp switches off.
I don't need a food shop for myself today as my Muscle Food delivery came yesterday. I had fruit and veg at the weekend so still good to go.
Started to discuss the school dinners with dgd and trying to get her to retry them as that way she will have a more balanced diet then the lunchbox. I am concerned that she is eating all the time. the things I get in for the lunch time are snaffled as snacks when I am not looking So by not buying them in the first place I will be removing temptation. I am worried that she is constantly eating and is very overweight. She is over 6stone and only 9. Although she is tall, she is still too heavy and Ian concerned about her.
I need to get her more active and cut down on the sugars and sweets etc especially since Halloween and the sweet bucket! . It was meant for trick or treating and only a few came to the door.
Her Mum and granddad's side of the family are all over weight which doesn't help.
I am lucky that I have never really been on a diet, and at 5'6" I only now weigh 9st 8 and that's about right for me.
Although when I started writing on MSE I was 8st 4 and too thin.
Time to get myself up, and get ready for the day ahead which will fly by and be 3 o'clock before I know it.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
