The dentist cancelled on me at 9.05 Thursday. I don't know when they will rebook me but last night my bridge fell out so now I have to face everyone with a huge gap in my bottom gum. I feel c r a p. I don't even have staff in the shop today and will not be able to hide behind staff so to speak.
So not in a good place at the moment.
I am awake early once more to take DS to his work and will come back for my shower etc.
Dgd is on sleepover with the neighbour and off out Christmas card shopping later.
The bills for the wedding are starting to have to be paid so I have kissed goodbye to £1100 odd for the dresses. Well it's on my credit card at the moment so I will be looking for some 0% transfers etc soon.
I messed up as I used the wrong card (both being Black) and put it on the one that was offering me the 0% deal instead of the other one and then doing the deal.
I really am just not on the ball at the moment.
Luckily for me I am not teaching etc today and will just potter my way through the small things and I will leave the more complicated things until Monday and Tuesday.
After work today I will be sorting out the rest of my sitting room ready for the Christmas trees and decorations to be done tomorrow and reviewing the presents I have so far, and what I need to still get.
I am not looking forward to seeing anyone until I get my teeth fixed. I just hope that what ever the dentists crisis is that he will be back soon.
I already want to hibernate because of the SAD I have never mind my looks. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Ouch £1100, how many dresses, that's a lot of money. I only spent £400 on my entire wedding.Chin up, Titus out.0

I know! I am not sure how many bridesmaids she is having I just paid the bill. But her dress was about £1,000 so she'd paid a deposit of £200 before finding out they didn't have the cash flow sorted as expected. Long story.
I am home. Didn't sew a single thing. Just had to serve in the shop all morning. Plenty work to do next week.
After my tea I will muster up the energy to do the front room. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I know that biggest Mooloo has been the one of your family who has supported you the most Mooloo - and maybe you feel that she deserves more now - but please Mooloo, make sure that the rest of the wedding is NOT your financial responsibility xxxxxx0

Unless you agreed to pay for these as a wedding present I'd be asking family to repay you as soon as they have the funds. It's unfair to expect you to get into debt because they can't afford to get married.0

I know it probably won't help, but your teeth probably feel a lot worse than they look, so take courage from that! I have a friend who sometimes has very bad eczema on the face, they're very self-conscious about it and mentioned it to me once, and I know they were quite surprised when I said I'd barely noticed.I messed up as I used the wrong card (both being Black)Signature removed for peace of mind0

Biggest hasn't had funds out of me for several years. Until the BF got into money problems or at least admitted to them a few months ago anyway, they were paying for the wedding. Her Dad did buy her a dress but in the end she didn't like it when she tried it on so she went and ordered a new one hoping to sell the other one but it hasn't sold in time to pay for the dress. I had originally said I would buy the children's dresses, but she saw the adults dresses in Dorothy P reduced to £40 each so I said I'd get them for her while they were available. I didn't realise she was having 6 adults as well as the three grandchildren.
I also hadnt realised that I would need to pay for them before Christmas and after I just had to have two new tyres and the car service done.
Such is life.
I have a denture in now so until the dentist can fix things I will cope. I will look to find if any of my banks will transfer on 0% ASAP
I will just have to keep a tight rein on the spending plan for a while and snowball what I can.
On the plus side I have all but one of the Christmas presents sorted out.
I just hope non of the other "children" need bailing out as there really is no wiggle room left.
I am off to collect DS now and take him to his work. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well it's amazing what can happen to you in a few hours of life.
I am single again. My friend was on a different agenda then me.
So I called it a day.
I am not going to cry about this time.
I have a different agenda and I have dreams that I still want to chase.
I did some catch up on my accounts for the shop, and we are now seeing a profit.
So I hope I will be able to pay myself more over the next year, but I know that I still have to get through the winter, and I will need new staff etc next year.
My holiday with Mum is just around the corner so I have a lot to look forward to.
Meanwhile I have a good amount of work to do to keep me occupied for the rest of the week at least.
Remind me if I get pessimistic to turn that frown upside down!!
I had my hair cut this morning the hairdresser came to the shop to do it for me.
This evening while dgd was in Brownies I went to see my mother and delivered some cutting boards my sister and sister in law wanted. My sister arrives from France tomorrow and my brother etc have been here about a week. I say here but I mean in the UK we haven't seen them yet as they are full of the cold etc so are keeping away.
I put the Christmas tree up yesterday and dgd decorated it. Erm it's different anyway.
I haven't done the rest of the decorations yet though. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Thank goodness people usually only have the full on white wedding with all the trimmings once in a lifetime :-)
...and thank goodness your holiday is on the horizon so you can get away from the spidery webs of materialism for a while.
Great news about the business being in profit. Isn't it great when a plan comes together.0 -
Dgd has been vomiting since 2.45am
Looks like the day ahead will be fraught.
I will have to get work and bring it home-again.
I will also have to drag her with me to get it!
The downside of being a single parent,?and a business owner.
Now I am going to try to get an hours sleep in before she is sick again. Poor wee soul. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
