Nice idea but to be honest I am quite shy really and not good at blowing my own trumpet.
I have had loads of curtains in to shorten, another two pairs came in today.
I couldn't sew what I had planned as staff called in sick. She has a kidney infection, poor soul, so I spent the day doing trouser hems, and the like.
I don't have to babysit tonight so that's good as I am really tired.
I have broken my no spends today, and bought a meal deal in Mr T, and a few yellow stickers items .
I think I have managed to calm my mind for now.
I hope to still plot and plan what I want to do next, with the house and the shop.
Advertising the business where I can for the best return.

Just lost my post because I swiped across the screen instead of moving across the page!
I was saying that I had a reasonably good day off, after household chores, I collected a parcel from the post office ( named marmite jars ready for Christmas stockings).
Then delivered some milk to DS before taking mum out.
She wanted to pay a cheque into her other account so I showed her how to use the machine to do it. We booked her next dental appointment and then had lunch. We are becoming ladies who lunch on a Wednesday.
We then visited the charity shop. I have two new to me dresses, a cardi, scarf, earrings and a necklace. Mum got a dress, earrings and a necklace too.
The rest of the day was collecting dgd, taking her to the dentist and a quick shop in the coop.
I have succumbed to a Spends day.
Now I am home and cosying up with a blanket and soon a book.
Tomorrow will be a busy day at work as I have some 12 big jobs in to do. I doubt I will manage all of them. I also need to clean the workshop ready for the sewing lesson in the evening.

    I liked this bit:

"Now I am home and cosying up with a blanket and soon a book."

Enjoy your time off while you have it. for business people it's a precious commodity.

Busy busy last few days with lots of curtains in to shorten.
I did the last lesson for my course ladies yesterday, and made myself a dress while they worked. I started it as a whim as only two ladies out of 5 turned up, so I decided to draw up a t shirt dress from the latest magazine and then grabbed some fabrics from the remnants and made it up between 8.30 and 10.15.
I am off to a friend's wedding tomorrow.
Looking forward to a change. I will be staying at Mumd with DGD.
I am up early in the morning to do the drive for DS's.

I am checking in, because my stress levels were checking out, out of the stratosphere.
Last night DGD had the neighbour's little girl over on a sleepover.
I stupidly let them set up camp in the front room. At midnight I had to tell them to go to sleep or else!
At 6.30 we had to be up to do DS's work run, so the girls went to the other house while I went. When I came back they were "tidying up" while I went for a bath, - ready for the wedding.
It went quite quiet and when I got out of the bath they had gone out into the garden, ( currently a mud bath as the housing ha e dug up all the paths and will be replacing them eventually), so two little girls in dressing gowns covered in mud, and walking it through the house!
    One stressed and shouting granny!
Then one highly tearful granny as DGD through her own strip at being shouted at abd stormed off to her room.
    Which was also trashed.
I have cleanedthe kitchen, put most of the front room back, and vacuumed.
I am having a cup of tea, while one little girl scarpered back to her Mum and mine is in the bath!
The next agenda is to put the washing machine on. Then to make sure we have our clothes readyfor the wedding and for tonight and tomorrow as we will be based at my Mums.
I had planned a leisurely startto the day, a few hours to start sorting out my wardrobe with a bit of Mari Kondo Magic etc. So I could then tackle the ironing mountains, yes there are 3 of them now.
I figured that I might not do the ironing until I had made a space for it all!
I just don't seem to be finding the time.
3 hours lost on just regaining my home, and only two left now to get to Mums.
And I still haven't bought wedding papers to wrap the gift!
Argh, why am I always so unorganised at home?

I forgot to take the wedding present! So I will deliver it on Wednesday.
The wedding was quite emotional as my friends Dad, and both brothers have very advanced Huntingdon's Disease and so the carers had to help push the wheel chair while he walked the bride down the isle.
DGD was well behaved for me, and we had a good time. We have wasted the day watching Christmas movies and keeping warm because DGD is not feeling well today.
I have a feeling that we will struggle tomorrow for school and work.
I will worry about that tomorrow.

Our plans for today will have to go out of the window.
DGD is not very well. Staff has the doctors at some stage today as well.
I think that I may have to take DGD with me, and being some work home to do. I find DGD distracting when at work as she always wants attention and so I will only do what I have to do and come home if possible. As staff is going to be going to the doctors at some stage, she couldn't remember the time when I asked on Friday, but I think we may have to close the shop early and leave a note.
I am not feeling 100%, so won't be surprised if I too feel worse at some stage today.
It would be best to get any illness out of the way before we get busy with Christmas.
I will not panic at the moment I will just do what I can.
It's a pity that DGD is too young to leave in the house for 10 minutes or I would nip out and put a note on the door now, and bring the work home. But she's still too young for that.
so I will have to get her up and dressed and go to the shop, so possibly stay open a little bit as we will be there, and when staff comes in I can go home.

I have looked at the bank balances and they are all steady at the moment. I have just enough in my main account ready to cover the mid month DDs. But not enough to move anymore into savings yet.

I too have DGD's sore throat now.
I did not go in to work and after the builders arrived I would have not managed to get my car out of the drive without considerable difficulty.
I did use the morning to clear out my wardrobe and the three sets of drawers I have.
I still have an ironing basket full of clothes, and suitcases still needing sorted. I managed one bag of things for the charity shop.
As the afternoon drew in, my energy level dropped as the throat rose I sat down watching true Christmas channel and pottered every now and then.
I tried making shortbread, but it failed and a pear sponge. Neither seemed to cook anywhere near the time the instructions say. So perhaps the top oven in my new cooker is not up to temperature.
I am now cooking the last two chicken breasts I have, and am planning to make a risotto ( minus the wine). I hope DGD and I will be able to swallow it.
I will see how things work out for tomorrow in the morning

Well the decision is made that this morning we are not going anywhere.
I may live to regret this but my throat feels like I am swallowing razor blades. DGD is mumbling to her self in her room, and is a bit better, but not 100%. So one more day at home in the warmth is probably best.
Unusually my friend came to see us last night, and he was driving a works car, so we had a short drive out in a Porche! We were hoping to see the moon but it disappeared in the clouds so we were unlucky. Sitting in a big luxury car was fun though.
Staff said that the shop was dead yesterday and she doesn't think that while I am away it is worth her opening up today.
I think it's a long and boring day if nobody comes in, as she cannot sew.
I will need to rethink who I employ next year when she retires, and try to find someone else who might be able to sew a bit, and keep the work moving forward if I am incapable.
I will need to get in tomorrow instead and work on my day off, as I don't want to let anyone down with deadlines etc.
I have sat here weighing up the should I shouldn't I etc for well over two hours!
But I have decided that dragging DGD to the shop where I know itvis cold will not be a goo idea for her or myself and it is better to rest and recuperation now rather than work on and get worse, but it is not an easy decision.
On the plus side, it means that I can take my time at home and actually attempt a bit more ironing and I think I might manage to change the beds today.
