Hi Emz....I don't always Post but I DO read....and I'm in awe of you.....I certainly am NOT going to Post telling you how stupid you've been.....we have all been in positions like this and you are NOT stupid....I used to be dreadful with Money and am still paying off payday loans that I stupidly took out....So you are NOT stupid hun....And you're doing your best to pay the Gas Arrears....some people would just stick their heads in the sand and ignore it, even after it's gone to court...but you're not doing that...

Keep going...you WILL get there....And I'm cheering you on from the sidelines xXx :)

    Thanks INOD and Helen :A

I've ordered one of the dresses that I think looks the nicest. Ordered it in my size, so if I can't sell it, at least I can wear it.

Not working until 4pm today, so lots of time to get some articles written. I've got a little one to do, so will get that done and come back after.

    Emz xx

Small article written and I've got another one to do. Bit of a larger one, so I aim to get it done before 10am.

My balance is currently 7.18 euros (as long as that other article gets accepted okay). The article I've got now will push me over the amount needed to claim a payout on Thursday.

  • Sorry in advance emz but I am gonna lecture a wee bit. You need to concentrate on this for the next two months so make sure your OH knows that you can't accommodate the expense of visits from or forays to his parents. It's not just the financial cost but the emotional one too as they really seem to wear you down. Take care.

(if you're thinking of posting saying how stupid I've been, please don't :( - I'm fully aware of how stupid I've been - but I'm trying to sort it out and will then take a long hard look at my finances to stop this sort of thing happening again).

We'd never do that, Emz, you should know us better than that by now;). We follow your thread because we admire you and how you go about tackling head-on the setbacks that would finish a lot of us off:A

As for doing 'stupid' things, I bet I don't speak just for myself in admitting to having done more of them than I care to remember:o. We're all here to support you and each other, that's why your thread and many others on MSE (though not all, there are some nasty people about on some of the threads:eek:) are such a blessing.

By the way, couldn't agree more with what inod and beanielou said about the dreaded in-laws.

  • You're not stupid and are coming up with innovative ways to find the money to avoid court. Just keep focusing on what you can do to find the money and stop berating yourself — we all do silly things and let situations slide. You have a lot of support here and no one is judging you.

    Hi everyone

Thank you for your kind posts :A

Sorry I haven't posted. Not for a bad reason though - I've just been concentrating on earning money. I've got around £170 so far (not including my £150 bonus). I haven't paid anything off the arrears yet, but the money is safely tucked away ready to be added to OH's bonus 2 weeks on Friday. I'm seriously hoping I can pay it all in one fell swoop. I'm hoping OH's bonus is at least £1k, so have only got around £460 left to find.

The £170 has come from a mixture of Textbroker, mystery shopping, surveys and other bits and bobs. Not all of it is through yet, but I'm adding it to the rest as I go.

I did watch the tennis yesterday (thank god I wasn't working!!). I knew he would win it. Makes a change not to see Djokovic or Federer at the other end of the court!! He totally deserved that win and I hope he can go on to win the US Open again. Lendl must be his lucky charm :D

    Emz xx
