  • Good to hear things are going well, Emz:).

Congrats on the award from work:T
  • I hope all's well with you, Emz. Your last post was on 20th July.

Are you finding some time to enjoy the Olympic tennis? Speaking as a 'neutral' I thought the Nadal-Del Potro match this evening was wonderful:j. It would have been a fitting final. I expect Andy is pleased that he got his match over earlier in the day, and without taking much out of himself. He'll certainly be fresher for the final tomorrow.

    Hi everyone

A long overdue update. I did start another diary, but I just felt like I needed some time away from here. I always seem to come back to this diary.

So, the update. With regards to the gas bill arrears, I managed to pay off just under £1,200 of them. The court date was due for a week tomorrow, however, they were satisfied that I've cleared enough of the arrears and have allowed me onto a payment plan instead. It will all be paid off by March.

Work is going okay. I'm still not doing any overtime, which is fine with me and seems to be keeping me in good health. I have now been given every Sunday off, which I love as it means I can see my niece and nephew once a week instead of once a fortnight :D. I have to do every Monday now instead.

I did manage to watch some of Murray's Olympic matches. I stayed up until 1.45am to watch the final - it was worth it!! I did feel sorry for Del Potro at the end though - I've always liked him and wouldn't have been as disappointed as I usually am if Murray had lost to him.

I'll try and keep posting on here. The whole gas bill thing kind of knocked me down a bit. I think it frightened me more than I thought it had. I seem to get away with these things by the skin of my teeth, which is not a good way to live.

    Emz xx

    Thanks everyone :A

Just trying to get some surveys done at the moment. Now that I've paid my sister back, I must start saving for the Chinchilla's new cage. They need a bigger one pronto so they can run and jump around more (don't worry, I do let them out regularly).

I've got my eye on this one. I'm waiting for £10 worth of vouchers, so only £85 to go. Want to get it ASAP so I can start saving for Christmas presents.

  • Hello Emz,

Just from a pet owner perspective, I have spent many years and lots of money(!) giving my animals bigger cages mainly because of what I have read on the internet. I am not at all saying your guys might not need the new cage but I have bought about 3 GP cages because of other people's comments online. In the finish my pair have a cage slightly smaller than the minimum recommendation because between my ankle and my back the bigger one was too much for me to move around safely. When I had five they were in a six foot long cage which was about 4 four wide and drove me in freaking sane but when you have that many it was necessary. I now look at my girls who come out for cuddles and pootle round plus the run outside and think, you know what, they are fine. I know you would always put their needs first and I am sure you aren't daft as me to believe everything you read but I often think animals that are well fed, exercised and loved are absolutely fine even if some people rattle on about cage minimums. Bit controversial I know. I just really think people who care know when something is up with their small and furries.

I like that cage, it looks similar to the one I had for my rats a million years ago. The shelves are also available on Amazon and if you look on Zooplus (it might be there too - cheaper?) there are SO many cheap toys (the rabbits have many) I have probably bored you with my love of Zooplus before :)
