Hey, sorry for posting so late in the day, Despite being awake since 4.30, I don't seem to have done a lot but only sat down around 6.30, and that was to work out my tiny budget! Today I bossed OH into unloading and reloading the DW. I've done 2 loads of washing and hung them up, fed the chickens, made jacket potatoes, cleaned 2 bathrooms, put away mountains of washing, spent 2 hours at a party with Roo, went to tesco and picked up some super cheap washing liquid. Sent some long overdue messages to friends, and sorted out my budget and my tesco order. Well when I realised how small my budget was I took loaaads of stuff out of my online basket.

What does everyone have planned for NYE? We're staying in and having a tiny party, just me, OH and two tinies. We're going to all get dressed up in party clothes, play games and eat party food and dance the night away, I imagine the littlies will crash about 9, but then me and OH can crack open the bubbly, should be fun, we've got a few fireworks too as we missed out in November, so should be good!

    I just can't stop eating :( it's like I've got worms....

Me too. In fact I was at a family party last night and suddenly became aware that I seemed to be eating more than anyone else which is very embarrassing. I love crisps, dips, nuts, crackers - all that kind of nibbly stuff.

Oh and HB I normally love this week but its felt a bit like hard work this year. Not sure why.

Mum, Dad and MIL been for tea then a couple of other relatives called unexpectedly. I bought waaay too much food so masses of leftovers again!

DS1 has a couple of mates staying over so I am trying to keep an eye on how much booze is going upstairs. They are good kids and fairly sensible (I hope). I have had a few glasses of wine myself so dont expect they will keep me awake!

Is it really NYs Eve tomorrow? Where did Christmas go?

Is it really NYs Eve tomorrow? Where did Christmas go?

I know, it's gone by so fast. I love Christmas and hate New Year, so I'm most unlikely to do anything or go anywhere. I'm still frantically playing Xmas CDs and wondering if it's too late to do a Snowman jigsaw puzzle..........I had an immense feeling of freedom several years ago when Mr N and my friend, who was staying at the time, went to a NY party at mutual friends. I stayed at home and went to bed at 10. At least last year Mr N came out of hospital on NY eve.

Have finished another report today, and started on the next.

And don't even start me on weight - I got on the scales yesterday and am my heaviest ever :( but we finished the last mince pies for pudding this eve, Xmas cake and pudding all gone now as have the turkey and gammon. However, when I switched the 'aga' over to oven (it has two large plates - baffles - that you swing to funnel the heat either to the hot water tank or the oven), it sounded odd. I looked inside and one of the baffles has fallen off. We're talking about a foot square and very heavy. So that will be something to spend our first money on in Jan..........
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Aww Missy thats lovely. We wasted far too many New Years Eves when the boys were little just not bothering. Good for you for making an effort!

We are going to family. Most of our kids range between 14 and 17 so last year the older ones wanted to walk up into town at about 10pm and we wouldnt let them. Even though its a quiet rural town there can be trouble on New Years Eve and we didnt want them just roaming around. This year we will discuss it in advance!

(((Hugs))) LW. You'll get through it with MrLW's support and all of us Flyladies cheering you on from the sidelines.

The BD has hit me today with a vengeance - not quite sure why, but I hope it goes away soon. I slept all afternoon, it was so dark and miserable. But at least I managed to do a few bits this morning and again this evening.

I have completed the 2015 ironing challenge :D (it was only one shirt and 2 long cotton scarves!)
I have cleaned the kitchen thoroughly, including all the appliances.
The utility is not completely clear but it is much better, and it won't take me long to finish it tomorrow.
We have updated and coordinated diaries. Perhaps that was what depressed me the most... trying to find dates when I can visit friends or we can invite people to meals or have the grandchildren here... The weeks seem to be full of trivia, with no room left for the important things in life. Something will have to give in 2016.
