Well I have a lot more ironing than I thought! I've done a load this morning but there's still loads more to do so not sure that I will complete the challenge.
Going to take the dog out now and then take DD to my cousin's.
Catch you all later

(((Hugs))) for you Lamewolf, to help ease and cope with the worrying, because there's absolutely no point in telling someone not to worry, is there? We're all rooting for you.
It's sad to hear that there are other Flyladies who are not enjoying this Twixmas break, so (((hugs))) for everyone who's been surprised by it not being as good a week as it usually is. I'm taking time out as usual to review last year's achievements and plan the changes I want to make for next year which is helping a bit.
As for NY'sE, OH goes to London to spend it with a friend and I always spend it on my own, and that's the way we both like it. This year, tbh, I think both of us need a breather, anyway. The only downside to it is fireworks because neither Kelpie nor Devil Cat like them. Some moron was letting them off a couple of nights ago, one every 30 seconds or so for about 15 minutes. Not a happy dog. Tonight he'll have his thundershirt on and all the doors and windows will be closed to block out as much noise as possible with the TV or radio on to distract them both.Narc0lepsy wrote: »I know, it's gone by so fast. I love Christmas and hate New Year, so I'm most unlikely to do anything or go anywhere. I'm still frantically playing Xmas CDs and wondering if it's too late to do a Snowman jigsaw puzzle....
It's never too late.
(((Hugs))) Ionafan. This is not advice, I'm not suggesting you need to be told how to manage your life, but I find ditching trivia (ie stuff I don't enjoy doing, friends who are energy-vampires and dusting) has cleared a lot of space in my diary. Very satisfying.
(((Hugs))) Dancemum, along with *steady studying* vibes for your DS1. Words of wisdom if he'll listen from someone who failed all her O levels first time around and ended up 30 years later with a couple of degrees: The hardest part of studying is making the decision to sit down and do it.
(((Hugs))) to everyone flooded or affected by it. I could weep seeing the pictures.
I'm desperate to get the dog's bedding washed because his fleeces really stink. There may be a long enough gap between showers to do it today because they dry so quickly. Other than that the plan is: the oven, the kitchen floor, the superking floor, the shower room, airing the double ready for an arrival on Sunday, and straightening up my office.Better is good enough.0 -
Ionoafan it occurred to me last night that we never seem to see friends and family so we have tried to squeeze too much visiting/being visited into this week which is why it feels so busy.
But why do we not see people more often? Its OK to say we dont have time but as you say maybe its a case of looking at priorities.
My 3 teenagers are still upstairs asleep. I had to have a gently word at 1am as they were giggling and crashing about like 7 year olds. It was quite funny. I have just got up and feel refreshed from just lying in bed with my book. Going to do month end bills for DH which needs to be done if we are going to have any money in January!0 -
Hi ladies,
Hugs, sticks and spoons all round to those who need/want them. I'm still in my dressing gown, really CBA today. Had a lovely lie in whilst DH got up with the littlies, but then I come downstairs and its like a bomb has dropped on it. I adore my family but good lord I get a bit fed up of permanently picking up after them.
So I am officially on strike today xMFW

Hugs to those struggling, may your BDs scamper away, your diaries snap shut when you try to over-book yourself and your dust not reappear till August (OK which one of those do you choose as a bluff?).
With apologies to those who have yucky weather, it is sunny but with a chilly wind here so I have:
- done one load of washing and hung it out which is great as it is bedding from the spare room.
- done an hour in the garden potting up tulip bulbs for my SIL which has been on my list since before Christmas but we're not seeing her till next week! Also did a load of pruning. The garden is going potty - primroses out, new leaves appearing on shrubs, weeds rocketing.....at this rate it will be summer by April. Plus, don't laugh, I'm sure I have hay fever. It isn't a cold, but I'm a bit snuffly and my eyes itch like crazy. Too many flower arrangements?
- Talking of which, I've sadly dismantled the 2 flower arrangement that hang on the banisters as one fell off last night. Must say I'm impressed at how long the flowers have lasted; I bought 2 bunches of mini carnations and 1 of Lisianthus on 18 Dec - they are only just going over and they've done 2 church displays and several in my house.
Need to get on with some report writing now, and I want to finish the bathroom later.

Good for you. It's easy for me to say, but can't you just get a large box for each person and rather than tidy it away, just chuck all their stuff in a box? That way, if they want something they have to find it but your space can look tidy (apart from boxes....). I don't think of my mum as having been harsh, and I'm extremely untidy, but I don't recall her doing a great deal of tidying up after me; we just had to do it. It is difficult if you have higher standards than other family members though; Mr N is very tidy whereas I barely notice and/or get round to it eventually. I hate it when he comes in from work and before he's sat down or had a cup of tea, he's dived into washing up anything I haven't yet got round to. Yes I know I'm lucky.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Just wanted to send hugs, stick, spoons and good vibes to those who are suffering right now; I know all too well what it's like.
J and I had a talk and we're going to keep Relate on the back burner but we actually are communicating properly and seem to be working together which is progress. I've been very honest with him and told him I thought if things stayed as they were then that'd be it for us but he seems to be coming up trumps right now ... long may it continue.
Been out to run an errand for J's uncle, got a load of washing on, dry stuff folded and put away, no ironing to do, had lunch and am just about to drag the kids and dogs out for a trundle in the fields. J is working on the area under the stairs and turning it into a downstairs bathroom which will be great.
Not doing anything to celebrate New Years Eve as I'm such an anti social person!! Will try to pop back on later but if not here's to a good 2016.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Just done the yearly finance check, followed by a trip to the bank to check something we thought had been set up but wasn't.
Hugs and coping vibes to all who need them.
I hope 2016 is kind to everyone, this year has certainly had its trials for lots.SPC~12 ot 124

Afternoon all
Hugs to all those in need.
I've blitzed my bedroom this morning, changed the bedding, cleared and wiped all the surfaces, vacuumed & steamed the floor in fact I steamed all the floors upstairs.
I still have a mountain of clean clothes to put away but I'm having a break with a cuppa.
WM is on it's 3rd load, the only things left to wash are my holdups & I wash them by hand.
I cannot wear tights, trousers or skirts due to medical problems.
After my cuppa I'm going to finish putting the clean washing away & then go and feed a colleagues cats, after that it's back to the crochet, I'm aiming for 64 yellow circles, I have 18 done and 10 with the next colour already done.
We won't stay up and see the new year in, we never do, I must remember to turn my phone off tonight as I have a couple of workmates who send texts at midnight and due to the amount of people who do this the messages arrive at 3am!

Well I've not had the best start to the day I awoke to letters telling me that my d*$k of an ex (please excuse my language) is going to be paying me £200 less a month. Not too worry after a long talk with DH we have a few ideas, which will hopefully mean that we don't struggle or have to make major changes.
Now to get back to my positive attitude New Year = New start and perusing the career that I want (have wanted from a young age). Currently enjoying a cuppa that DH has made me and gathering my thoughts.
Please can anyone tell me how to upload a picture onto here.
Going to finish my cuppa and then sort the food for tonight and then clean the bathrooms. I'm also going to get a quick shower then see what I still need to get done. I'm looking forward to spending tonight with the friends and family who are important to me. I'm thinking about resolutions and I think I might choose to think positive and not let things get to me0
