It's at times like this that a tumble dryer would be really useful here - got stacks of washing to do but can only do 1 load a day. Think I may have TD envy!!

Been on the phone to NS&I and sorted out kids bonds so that's another job that can go off my list.

  • Mumof2 - I know what you mean about the TD. I don't have one, but I think one would come in useful!

  • Morning all!

Agree about TD - I don't have one either so can also only do one WM load a day in this weather! Luckily (?) it's only me here but, even so, it would be nice to be able to do more sometimes.

Dizzy - so pleased to hear you're feeling more positive :D

Right, I'm off to collect Dad as were going to the Dockyard to exchange our vouchers for our Annual passes and then he's treating me to lunch.

Back this afternoon for an HHC or 3!!

A quick hi to all as I'm about to start another report.
Bathroom mats and towels in wm.
Shower head soaking in descaler. Kettle too while I was about it.
Tidied/binned anything in the bathroom that was in the wrong place.
Gave washbasin a good clean and descale last night (scale county here).

HoneyBear - Dusty had quite a busy time lately, I had a text from her a few days ago. Coffee planned when we both have time!

Very windy here but no rain.

On the subject of cat milk, Valli, it depends on how your cat reacts to it. If it's the cat's sole food, it might overwhelm her digestive system which would uncomfortable, but I would have thought that if you cooked some fish and mashed it, that would be soft, really easy for it to digest and not too difficult to swallow. As long as she's comfortable and enjoying life, you're getting it absolutely right.

Morning! Anyone else totally confused about what day it is? I feel like it should be a Monday today - but then I'd be in work and I'm glad not to be!

I have no idea where I am day-of-the-week-wise. Just can't get my head around it. Good to know it's not just me!

I have masses to do around the house and absolutely no will any more. I normally enjoy the time between Christmas and New Year but this year I'm not.

Brrr it's a bit chilly here! Avoiding the heating and just sat with a hot water bottle! Washed up, put away, unloaded and loaded dishwasher, tumbled some clothes (no idea how I'd manage without it, though I only tumble socks, underwear, towels etc as I've had things shrink in the past so I'm still overwhelmed by washing), and put most presents away.
  • WM on load number 3 (towels this time), bedding drying in the TD as we speak and a load of shoes bagged up for the CS. Next job is to wrap up some spare glassware in newspaper to be donated tomorrow morning when I nip out.

Yet more leftovers for lunch, bank account checked and small mortgage overpayment made. New overpayment allowance kicks in on January 1st, I cant wait - sad I know xx

  • if you have a launderette nearby i find that very cheap
i wash at home then take 2 loads to dry
it costs about £1.60-80 to dry 2 loads

Are there a few 'quick fixes' you can do, that make you feel virtuous but don't need a concerted effort? Like even doing a 5 minute challenge instead of a half hour. Or putting away 3 items from each room. You have achieved a great deal this year, and it may be that this time of year is so very different than in previous years? Sorry if I am presuming.

I'm a real butterfly brain, as is evident by the fact I'm posting rather than engrossed in a report (which is also open but progressing slowly). Must re-join my mindfulness course as it was good and showed me how I can't actually multi-task efficiently, much as I like to think I can. Doing one thing at a time seems infinitely more tedious........
