Morning! Blowy here too but not raining - hurrah!

Out today with DH to choose a new kitchen - narrowed the style down to a couple we both like, so hoping it will be successful. Won't need it for a while, but want to be ready. His suggestion to go, so who am I to argue :rotfl:

Loss adjusters are happy for us to appoint our own structural surveyor to assess damage - new and pre-existing issues and we already have a lovely chap in mind who did a roof and wall survey for us when we were looking to buy this old heap, so just need to give him a call. Feeling positive again after a few down days.

Bootiful hat Piggers - wish I could knit *sigh

Valli - spoil Mogs rotten while you can. Sounds like she's been a lovely addition to your family, bless her. I still miss my tabby who reached 16 and was an absolute baby. If we didn't have such a busy road nearby, I might get another - could help with the mice. Eeww - just remembered, I've got to check traps for bodies this morning...:(

    Good Morning all,

Online shopping has been delivered and put away, and I have logged on and requested a refund for all the F&V as it was all either overripe or underripe :(. When will I learn to stop buying it from there and use our lovely local greengrocer more? Silly ATB. About the feed the tiddlers, then an easy day in store I think - DH has taken the car to work so I couldn't go anywhere even if I wanted to ;)

Plan today is to strip the beds, will need to be TD unfortunately.

Air BnB reservation for Monday night was booked in late last night, another £25 in the pot :)

Hugs to all in want / need. We are very near York and I am counting my blessings we are safe from this horrid storm. The footage on the local news of Tadcaster bridge collapsing was just awful. Dizzy - hugs honey, you are coping so so well with all life has thrown at you. xx
Have lovely days all xx :)

Morning! Anyone else totally confused about what day it is? I feel like it should be a Monday today - but then I'd be in work and I'm glad not to be! Day off today, totally shattered so will catch up on some telly and do a lot of tidying to try and get the house straight - people coming over tomorrow. Presents not put away yet, all in boxes and piles!

    Morning all

    :bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:
Happy Birthday to all FlyKids celebrating this week

Gentle (((hugs))) to LW. Sounds like you've had a very difficult experience with old Jack - you did your absolute best for him, and I'm sure his owners will be grateful for your care. They must have realised before they went away that he was not well. I hope your new visitor brings you much joy.

Hope everyone has survived the overnight storms intact and dry indoors. Dizzy, enjoy your kitchen shopping!

DH has Warfarin clinic this morning so I am going to crack on with the lists as soon as he goes out. My RoD is the utility - a couple of bits to handwash, some amaryllis to plant, wellies to clean off and put away, spare lightbulbs left out on the worktop, and CS donations waitng to be decluttered. An hour in there should make a big difference.

    Catch up later x
  • Morning everyone

Didnt sleep very well. Parents visiting for tea so lots to do. Going to brave the supermarket later so making a list while watching a bit of telly with DS2.

Had a good clean yesterday so all is fairly tidy.

As JulieJim says this week is going far too quick. I have a horrible feeling I am going to be back at work before I know it!
  • Morning:)

Lovely meal out for DS2 birthday last night (and came in under budget:D). He got all money for his birthday, which is quite normal with it so close to Christmas. He says he is going to save most of it as he doesn't know what to buy (that's my boy!) :D

Have been playing around in Ynab this morning, perfecting next years budget and making new plans:)

Computer backed up, tree and decorations taken down, and banking done.

Planning on a stay-at-home day today, maybe a bit of baking, and I may finally get time to sit down with new bullet journal!

Morning all from a very blustery Bristol - the windows are creaking away whilst I am sat here typing! Looks like it's about to start raining too; glad we had such a lovely day yesterday as looking grim today.

Poor J is unwell; he threw up earlier this morning and has an awful headache, neck ache and feeling hot. I've left him in bed and will take up some paracetamol in a bit but not worth it til he's stopped being sick. I'm a bit OCD about sickness and trying not to worry - if me and the kids get it then that's just the way it goes.

MIL gave the kids some money to go to NS&I for children's bonds but honestly it's like jumping through hoops of fire getting the money put away! Think I'll give them a call and try to do it over the phone - she put the money into my account so if I pay with my debit card that'll work.

Think today will be a pottering day; want to do some ironing as I'd rather do it as it comes than leave it til a humungus great pile appears. Got a load of washing in the machine now. Also think we're going to have to give the allotment up as it's all down to me now J is working away (not that he ever did anything to be honest - but it was him who wanted the allotment so badly) and with my typing job, looking after the kids and dogs and trying to keep the house decent it's too much for me. Think we're going to have a vegetable patch here instead.

Have a good day everyone x

    Morning all.

    LW - huge hugs

I spent yesterday making stickers to go in my diary to represent different things like when DD is off school etc. I haven't printed them yet but I'm getting there...I think I've watched too many american planner videos on utube :o

DD came home yesterday evening instead of this morning due to the weather warnings over Cumbria & Lancashire today. So I dragged her down to Mr A with me and we did a top up shop with a few extras thrown in. I had £20 budget (give or take £5 if needs be) and it came to £29 before I handed over the APG vouchers which brought it down to just under £21 :D:money: Very happy with that.

Today the plan is to de-Christmas the house. DD is going away about 9am tomorrow so it all needs to be done today, except the window which can stay until 12th night. I also need to get through all the laundry so DD can pack for going away again, and get numerous things charged.

    Personal:
    Set up diary
    Set up filofax
Grocery inventory & flinging session - Freezer & fridge done.
    Meal plan
Set up grocery lists in filofax
Find some knitting patterns to use up wool stash - Goal for 2016, to clear it!
    Scrub yard
    Bank
    Charge portable chargers x4
    Charge k1ndle
    Charge fit3its
Decorations away - purging as we go.
    Vacuum downstairs
    Mop downstairs
Laundry - dark, light, towels, Christmas linens, throws
    Dishes
DD packed (gift bag of models)

Monday - a bit of everything!
    Level 2
Dust and deweb all through downstairs

Tuesday - kitchen and dining room
    Level 1

    Wipe down your large appliances
Run the WM / DW on a hot wash and clean the filters
    Level 2
Any other surfaces to clear / wipe?
    Wash a window
    Level 3
Back to the kitchen - pick a cupboard- empty it and wipe the shelves. Only put back what you need. Can anything be ditched?
    Extras

    • Spend some time with your new diary and a cuppa!
Wednesday - Bathrooms & PC / Study area
    Level 1

    Do a mini Binbag dance!
Wipe over windowsills and any other counters.
    Clean sinks and loos
    Level 2
    Wash out the bath
    Pay the plugholes some attention
    Level 3
Tidy and wipe over your desk - concentrate of any cup marks and finger prints :)
Back up any photos from christmas - can you delete any fuzzy ones?
Run your virus checker and generally tidy your desktop (as in your PC desktop, not the actual piece of furniture ;))
    Extras
    • Keep sorting laundry - put away what you can and split the rest between your remaining ironing piles.
    • HHI
    • Enjoy a peaceful cuppa
Time to get moving, and things plugged in to charge
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
