  • G'day,

    Please can I ask what is probably a stupid question....? It says to run the WM through an empty cycle. Is that at its hottest setting and do you put detergent in?! See that's how bad I am at housework lol!!

    It's not a stupid question! I run mine with just some soda crystals in - it clears the detergent gunk from the pipes. Or you can buy a washing machine cleaner - Lakeland does one.

    Some people will use vinegar instead.

    And yes to the hottest temperature.

    yes to hottest setting: I always reduce spin to lowest possible (because spin isn't needed IMO) you can use white vinegar or household soda.

    Anyway there are little heaps of mess everywhere - so I am going to co-clean DR while tidying kitchen.

    HHC at 3 anyone?

    Lol - hadn't looked at the list until after I posted that...methinks Villa Valli is being spied on :eek: :rotfl:

    Dizzy (((HUGS))) I am so very sorry for your loss; when someone gets to such a grand age, it seems like they'll be around forever, and it's horrid when suddenly they aren't.

    Valli I'll send palliative comfort vibes for pusscat; 'tis the least I can do. x

    Sorry for not posting yesterday; I've had a horrendous couple of days.
    Whited out for the sake of those who don't need more sadness.
    Jack was poorly at 4 am on Sunday; he seemed ok all day, ate alright, but was sick again later on, so I contacted the franchisee. Normally I wouldn't worry, but at his age (15) and he has Addisons Disease. Anyways, I was told to monitor him, and if he was sick again, to call the franchisee. Yes, he was, at 10.30pm Sunday night. He also had tremors in his little body.
    Long story short, franchisee came and collected him at 11pm on Sunday and whisked him off to the emergency vet, having spoken with the owners' emergency contact (their DD and SIL).
    Upshot is that SIL is going to stay over at Jack's home, and he's gone straight back there from the vet's - they kept him in overnight - but tbh, it's not looking good. The DD and SIL can't have Jack at theirs cos he doesn't get on with their cats.
    Don't know if I'll ever find out the outcome.:(

    So I'm a bit of a mess - we did vacuum and dust throughout yesterday, and did the supermarket shopping we needed to do, though; so some Flying has happened.

    Oh, and it looks like the pc is terminally ill.:(

    I have another dog due here on Thursday, for two nights; a new-to-me guest, Jack Spaniel.
    If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • So sorry to read that about poor Jack LW, it must have been very upsetting to witness the poor thing suffering. You did all you could. Hugs.

    LW I'm sorry you had to go through that - no wonder you've had a horrendous few days. Sending a hug for you xx

    Valli you're doing the right thing for your cat; you'll know when it's time - just enjoy how long you have left with her xx

    Haven't gone from the list really today but walked the dogs with SILs and their dogs - there were 4 dogs running around with my 2, Betty and Monty and they had a lovely time. Whiz has definitely lost weight after being the kennels. Told J we need to try not to put him into kennels again - home boarding is much better for a sensitive lad like Whiz but got a scowl and grunt in return!

    Today I've also :
    * sorted out dry washing and put away
    * done load of lights
    * washed Whiz's coats which were rather grubby
    * sorted out all the gibble in the lounge and dining room
    * hung up the bird feeders we got for Christmas
    * sorted through S's school bag and done cheque ready for next term's school dinners
    * binbag dance

    Not bad really, all things considered.
